Has anyone else recieved an email saying they have been shortlisted for the MSc scheme assessment centre with network rail? Seems odd to have no interview or numerical reasoning tests before getting to this point.

Sounds like your safe paul, considering vik and grad both had good news. Just wish they could have sent out a mass email letting everyone know!

my voicemail was left at 5 and they finish at half 5. They did say that most people will find out next week. I think They must have been calling to offer me a place, don't think they would call just to say no. What do you think?

Scottish Paul Did they really inform you that most people will find out next week via the voicemail you received or after your call back? .....x

As an update to a much earlier message on this thread, there were at least 8 days of assessment centres per centre, with approx. 20 people in each.
That meant that anyone who interviewed with Warwick or UCL did so having been selected as the final 60-80 out of 160 (and Lord knows how many hundreds before that).
That's quite the achievement, and considering they have spaces for all of us you actually have to have had a negative reception at interview to fail now.

    UPDATE

I phoned the Recruitment team today, and they told me thats its 'only' been 3 days since they finished interviews and started to process the interview stage. I was told that because of that it was entirely possible that no-one would recieve news until next week, and extremely unlikely that any news would come tomorrow.

    Hope this helps

    SKR

    Guys,

Calm down! There's nothing to worry about. I was talking to the interviewer at Warwick about this very subject when I went for my interview. Network Rail have a 3 year contract to supply this masters programme and it's too late to start chopping and changing. Network rail have a very strong connection with Warwick and aren't about to go messing them around (case in point: the amazing Westwood training centre which is around the corner from the university). The same probably goes for UCL.

Every single graduate I know who has got a place on a graduate scheme this year has been massively messed around, with huge delays and therefore loads of anxiety. This one is no different!

Just chillax and enjoy the weather! Unless you punched the university interviewer or went to the interview naked, in which case you should probably start panicing.

Right to give you guys an update, I went to Warwick for the interview. pretty straight forward and was told there and then that i was in. This initailly got me excited until he mentioned that Network Rail had the last say but prior to the interview, Network Rails graduate team had confirmed that it was all down to the University.
After being in a stat of panic for a few hours, I raised a query with both the University and Network Rail and i can now confirm that network rail have the last say.
I wouldnt be worried about anything though, looks like we should all get in.especially after Network rail had put us forward. which confirms they were pleased with our performance so far. Warwick probably just need to relay their answer back to NR for the final YES!!!

This is what they said about time scales for letting us know

    Dear Paul,

    Thank you for your email.

Please be advised that once all University interviews have been completed, we will be getting together with our university partners to discuss final decisions. This will be in Mid June, and we will relay their decisions back to candidates after this time.

network rail told me that there were around 30 people being interviewed for each. When i called them after my interview they told me that there was a space for everyone being interviewed, but final decision on who gets a place is made jointly between the uni and network rail.

hey guys just wanted to pick your brains do we know how many people have actually been interviewd by either warwick or ucl I can see that some of you were able to see a list of candidates being interviewed and am just trying to get a guide as to how many people were interviewed and how many places are being offered. Has anyone heard back or contacted Network rail at all, maybe graduated it is worth saying that.

With mine the guy seemed very bored of saying the same things, he told me more than he asked appeared to be satisfied with my responses. I didnt think mine was detailed enough or allowed me to really stress myself or my academic achievements so who knows? I'll be gutted if I'm not one of the chosen few. I prepared so well and it pretty much all went to waste. Certainly not as thorough as the Torrington place gent??

in your opinons should I stress this to Network Rail?

Hey, i attended Warwick yesterday and had my interview with the lady called Jayne. It was a reather infomal discussion about my working style and she was basically pushing how hard a masters is. Had my photo taken and also filled in the paperwork aswell, so from my point of view we just have to wait for network rail now. Hopefully be seeing everyone in September.

Hey Groovy Chick. Mine was exactly the same as yours, I cant remember his name but he did mention he was the programme director. He asked about what courses I have studied and the main theories/researchers I have read and come across. I answered as best I could but was just a little surprised it went down that route. He did give me a couple of papers on accommodation options though. Glad to know im not the only one feeling a little unsure.

Hey liverpoolfc I had mine at torrington place as well but it was on may the 28th and still not heard anything back. My interview was with John Kelsey, he wanted to know what papaers and modules I had studied for my degree, what books I had used and how it would relate the Msc. He wanted to know all about my work experience and asked what I wanted to study and what I wanted to write my thesis on. I was shocked with the level of detail he was asking so I am feeling unsure as well.

Hi guys! vik and graduate I had mine at UCL too and im not really sure what to make of it, mine was at Torrington Place though. I think I answered his questions well enough but still feeling a little unsure! Anyone else have any experiences of their interview yesterday at Torrington Place? Anyways good luck to everyone, hope it all turns out ok!

hi tom glad to hear it went well for you and to answer your question yes i filled in the form and got my picture taken. Didn't mention it before as i was last on the day of my interview and wasn't sure if they were going to do that with everyone or were just doing it with me due to having spare time. Didn't want to freak you out if they didn't take your picture or ask you to fill in the form.

    hi Scottish Paul,
Thanks so much your advice was very helpful....Grad I think you should read scottish Paul's account of his interview at warwick, it was very comprehensive.......and just be calm and confident....As I said I think they will take us all cos the lady (Jayne) who interviewed me said to Neil Stockton ( Programme director) that all the candidates on the 7th were good including me.,...so I think there is hope!!!

Scottish Paul was your picture taken and did you fill any forms and take any references back home...let me know!!!

    All d best!!!

Lol!! You saw my name on the sign in sheet..a classic piece of detective work..don't worry so much..he didn't take many notes on what I was saying only if I made a really good point would he mention something or write a word..and a few arrows..lol..I'm sure he liked you and saw your potential so don't worry..he probably realises your more than able so didn't need you to overly elaborate..he generally did seem layed back as well! You will be fine!

Yeah I had him in the same place bit later than you I think I saw your name on the sign in sheet. Mine was massively informal, he seemed a bit dispondent and not overly positive. Everything seemed like a chore, like he was bored of saying exactly the same thing. I felt like I wasnt really given a massive chance, no note taking was done either through out the interview !!! help!

I actually have no clue what his name is..it has totally eluded me but I do remember his room was 4.35 and he was the liason guy between network rail and ucl..he was slightly older but was really sound..yeah mine was in waites house too..how come?
