Application process for RBS Group
Online Application Form
The online form will ask you to provide personal details like your name and address, the school and university you attended, plus a description of any work experience, language skills and professional or financial qualifications you might have. Make sure you have all this information to hand before you start. We’ll also ask why you think RBS could be right for you and what strengths you have that make you the perfect candidate. We may also ask you to upload your CV.
As part of your application, you may be asked to complete an online questionnaire. We have developed a series of question that asks about what you enjoy doing and what motivates you. There are no trick questions, so we would encourage you to answer honestly and openly.
We use two types of online tests and, depending on what programme you’re applying to, you will have to complete one or both of them.
The first test is a reasoning test which is designed to assess your ability to understand and manipulate abstract or logical pieces of information. This test is also known as a logical reasoning test and will help us to assess your capacity to think conceptually as well as analytically.
The second test is a numerical test designed to measure your analytical reasoning skills in relation to figures, data and statistics.
For some programmes, the first stage following your online application will be a telephone interview.
In a phone interview, we’ll ask about your career aspirations and why you think RBS could be the place to achieve your goals. We will also ask a competency based question. You can use this as an opportunity to show your ability to make an impact and build relationships quickly. We’ll then ask for an example of something you’ve achieved that makes you feel proud. Make sure you choose something that demonstrates your drive and enthusiasm.
