I read about TalentQ tests earlier in this thread and wanted to ask if anyone knows where to practise them (if it's possible at all)?? Sorry if this is off-topic.

For me it was not a reasonable process because it was only an interview to be chosen for the real interview i mean it was not the last interview before they give me the job. So it was really weird for me to be eliminated. Anyways, what they want to get is to know about you. Typical competency based interview questions like what motivates you, what are your strengths, weaknesses, what would you do at this situation, what could be done at that situation etc. Just tell them about you, get ready for those silly questions which does not mean anything, does not asses you neither. Besides, they will ask (if they call of course) what are the competitors of BAT in Azerbaijan market, what are brands of BAT, what could be done to promote (since it is forbidden to advertise cigarettes on TV etc.). As far as I remember, those were all. But again, I am really curious about what they trying to do. What are they looking for, why I was eliminated since they noted they wont tell about the reasons of it. They said everything will be finished by sept but they still run the process.
Btw, they will ask for a driver's license, if you dont have, tell them that you can get in a short time. (you know you can get, it is not a big problem though)

Please inform me about the process, i am really curious

    Hello Doni
Probably we know each other (i guess, but anyways) I have applied to BAT MTP too, i passed the test as well and my phone interview was allright in my opinon but i was not accepted unfortunately. Anyways, as you noted, it is a bit weird, they sent me the same message, telling they will call me to set up an interview at the same time they asked me to tell them my phone number and confirm the mail. I just sent my phone number and asked them to call for scheduling the interview.
By the way, at the phone interview i asked them about the timing. They said everything will be finished by the end August or the beginning of sept. And now i see, it is mid sept. and the proccess is not over yet.
Anyways, send your phone number to [email protected] and note to call you for the scheduling... I hope they will
    Good luck

Are they ask about tobacco marketing in Azerbaijan ? Please if can you give me some information i will be happy.

      Good luck

    Hello Dear All
I have read all the posts till here, they are really helpful, thanks a lot :)
I am from Azerbaijan, I saw the BAT MTP at a job post site and applied although I am not graduated from marketing or related department. My application was accepted, i was invited to take the verbal and numerical test which was hard to me too. As some of you guys mentioned, there was no time. Anyways, I passed the test, they sent me an email today and invited to the next stage-phone interview? i will be interviewed after two days. All these happened in 2 weeks.
I have some questions. I would be happy and thankful if I get any answers.

    - They say the training program will take 2 years. If I am in, will I be working during that period. Will I get a salary?
-Where will the training be? (I mean will it be local or candidates from different countries will meet in a certain country)
-After the telephone interview, there will be a face to face interview. What is this about, and where will it be?
-Will they ask questions about the department I apply. I applied to Marketing dept. Am I supposed to be a marketing expert or what?

    Thanks a lot in advance.

I have applied for the IT track. Had received a note on May 18 saying that interviews will be conducted in the following 2 weeks and tht the AC will be held in June end. Since then nothing more. So I assume that I haven't been selected for the telephonic round.

@nalsas, did u have ur telephonic round???

I was told that the IT AC was planned to be held on the 28th and 29th of June. But I dun think they will decide the short list soon because this position is still open for applications...

    Any news? Anybody?

  • 27 April 2011 - 10:46pm
    • trvK

    Exactly the same with me.
I was told that AC is on the 28th April and didn't get any answer from 2 weeks

  • 27 April 2011 - 10:08pm
    • therealjemima

    Hey Dowille,
Mine says the same thing even though my AC was supposed to start today and I haven't received an answer from them since I had the catch up call. I've pretty much assumed that I didn't get through and that's why they haven't gotten back to me.

  • 27 April 2011 - 9:04pm
    • dowille

Has anybody got an answer from BAT: e-mail, phone call, anything? What about homepage, do u also see: you attended telephone interview and your application is under consideration?

  • 27 April 2011 - 3:30pm
    • trvK

That was supposed to sound like a joke ;)
Anyway the real question is - what could be the purpose of that wait? Coz it's hard for me to find any...

  • 27 April 2011 - 3:16pm
    • kaema

In this case I don't even know who to call. Most of the recruitment process is handle not by BAT but by external company... and I don't think they will be able to tell us anything.

  • 27 April 2011 - 2:48pm
    • trvK

    Same for me.

However I heard from a pretty reliable source that some of the companies are doing that on purpose - saying they'll call u in a week and not calling for another 3 weeks to check the reaction to that. Although I dont really get it and it makes me wonder - what is a reaction these people are looking for?
Maybe I should call them myself? :)

That just makes no sense to me...

  • 27 April 2011 - 1:39pm
    • kaema

they supposed to call me yesterday... and still nothing :(

  • 25 April 2011 - 8:37pm
    • trvK

Actually Im not UK based and I think salaries could differ.

  • 25 April 2011 - 3:04am
    • nfs63

Well 24000 EUR = 21180 GBP, which is not a fantastic salary, i am afraid to say... especially when there are many organisations offering way better salary to graduates.
Why bother having a social hatred when there is no additive advantage of working in such industry.
I remember someone mentioning 40000 EUR = 35300 GBP, which is actually matching to KPMG or E&Y etc... I am not sure if these figures are really correct but both look little off the line...
Also, It looks a bit Strange that a UK based company is paying in Euros to UK based employees...

Anyone else having any thoughts or further information regarding salary?

  • 24 April 2011 - 1:35pm
    • trvK

I check BAT account regularly ;) and from what I've been told the AC was supposed to be on the 28th (at least for me) and I assumed I will have the answer at least a week earlier. Anyways good to know that I'm not the only one waiting...
As for the salary they told me about 24,000 euros

  • 23 April 2011 - 11:20pm
    • nfs63

If the AC is on 27th then probably you are not through to that or the AC date has been moved. I would drop an email to check with them or the email has gone to your junk folder. Also check Ur BAT account.

Do u know what is BAT salary band for graduate schemes? What did you tell them?

    And good luck for AC.

    • trvK

I have applied to CORA, had the interview a month ago and then the same call to 'catch up' as u said before. Last week I had another, even quicker call just asking for the salary expectations and I was told I'll have the answer whether or not I got to the AC in a 'couple of days'!

The AC was supposed to be on thursday and I still dont have any info!? Is that normal?

  • 22 April 2011 - 12:05am
    • therealjemima

hey dowille have they gotten back to you about the AC cause they haven't contacted me still and the AC is supposed to be next week.

    • 23 April 2011 - 6:22pm
      • dowille

No answer yet.... AC is supposed to be on the 27th of April, which is very soon. Has anyone got any answer yet? Or are we all still waiting?

  • 19 April 2011 - 11:38am
    • nalsas

I guess they will contact the candidates with an earlier AC time...

  • 18 April 2011 - 1:33pm
    • gmc2886

It looks they are just calling the HR and Finance department candidates. Those are probably the ones that got more applications. I applied for operations and haven't heard from them yet. Good luck to all of you!

Hey Chelidon! What department are you applying to?

  • 18 April 2011 - 11:10am
    • Chelidon

I also got a similar call as thea and kaema which was really a mess cause my reception was bad and I could barely hear what she was saying. Anyways, I was also told that if I pass they'll tell me by 26th and then we will have all the info regardig the ac which will last 2 days. Well, whatever the news I hope they will not make us wait too long..

  • 17 April 2011 - 8:16pm
    • kaema

they called me od wednesday as well and told almoust the same what thea said.
On 26th they will call to say whether I'm in - but they told me the AC will be held on 11-12th of May. So... I think that there are really many candidates for HR MTP and there will be more then one AC...

    Thea what do you think??

  • 16 April 2011 - 10:40am
    • dowille

Well at least I´m not the only one! But they told you they will let you know either if you have gone further or not, right? Well, I hope we get an answer on Monday then...

  • 15 April 2011 - 11:22pm
    • therealjemima

    Hey dowille,
Same here had the call on Wednesday and they said they'd get back to me on Thursday but still haven't heard anything as of today.

  • 15 April 2011 - 5:47pm
    • dowille

I am applying for BAT mgmt trainee, finance and after telephone interview they called me to catch up and told me they will come in contact me in the end of this week. But I haven't heard anything from them yet... Has anybody else got to know whether you have been accepted to AC?

  • 14 April 2011 - 11:54pm
    • therealjemima

    Hey Thea,

Mine was basically the same they asked me some questions and discussed some things on my CV as well. Juts checked my phone and the chat was actually less than 15 minutes so it wasn't that long as well.

  • 14 April 2011 - 10:17pm
    • thea

Alright, I received a call today from BAT but in my case it wasn't a catch-up, it was just to clarify some things from my CV and was asked questions like why do you want to work in London?what were you doing during 2009? why HR? have you applied to other companies?

It was very quick though it was not like an interview. I am quite nervous now because I don't think it's good that it did not last long. But that was maybe because I was not home and there was traffic noise and as a result I could not hear her well.
Aahh and the woman was typing my answers.

She also informed me that they will let me know until the 26th of April if I pass to the next stage and that the AC will be held in London in 13 and 14 of May if I remember well.

  • 14 April 2011 - 12:41am
    • nfs63

As far as I remember, the person told me tht next is AC which will b final stage and details will be sent out at least a week before...
Btw, he told me tht thy do let candidates know if thy are through to AC or not in couple of days.... But I m yet to hear from thm...
Anyone applying for operations? And specifically what?

  • 13 April 2011 - 10:20pm
    • nalsas

woh that's really useful! i'm travelling abroad next week and will stop using the telephone number which I'm currently using for a while. think i should tell them then. it's kinda strange because during my interview i asked for like twice if there would be a second interview since they write so on the website, and he said no.

anyway it's nice to know about this. any one here applied for IT and got any thing after that vague mail? just the AC is hell late... at the end of June...

  • 13 April 2011 - 9:25pm
    • therealjemima

So, did anyone else get a call from BAT for a "catch up session" which turned out to be another telephone interview? It was mainly a motivational interview and was in the form of a chat and the man was really nice. So like in the 1st telephone interview they asked Why BAT? What do you know about the role? What are you doing now? Why Finance? What do you think about the qualification you will have to get during the programme (CIMA)? Have you applied to other firms? and they asked about some things on my CV as well. I also asked about the format of the AC and they said it was
    -role play
    -group exercise
and something else another interview or something
It was really out of the blue so be prepared. Good Luck

Googled BAT management trainee AC and all I could find was the one for Uzbekistan and for that one they do 4 things
    - Research planning meeting (I guess you have to discuss in a group about planning a research proposal or something)
    - Fact finding task (maybe a case study)
    -Strategy group meeting

    And the criteria
-ability to analyze information and make decisions
    -putting forward new ideas
-ability to work together and achieve common goals

I don't know if they use the same format for the BAT's all over the world and whether its different for different programmes because I've seen other different descriptions of the AC but hopefully they'll have some similarities.

  • 11 April 2011 - 7:32pm
    • gmc2886

Hey Thea, who told you about the graduate salary?
Has anyone heard from them yet? I believe what they meant by the week commencing on the 8th was in fact the week that started today...

  • 11 April 2011 - 7:23pm
    • thea

nfs63: I was told that the graduate salary is 25.000 but I was interviewed for the HR programme..I don't know if it's the same for every stream.

Anyone heard from them about the AC?

What kind of structure does the BAT AC have? :S

    Hey Guys,
One question do you know when is the programme supposed to start? Graduate positions are usually in September but when beginning or middle?

  • 5 April 2011 - 4:52pm
    • nfs63

Does anyone now how much does the BAT pay for the graduate programme in Operations in UK ?

Also, does anyone know anything about BAT AC?

  • 28 March 2011 - 11:43am
    • Chelidon

Hi guys, just had a phone interview with bat and wanted to add that all the questions are similar to those outlined by thea. I would just add the question: what are the most common and uncommon recruiting sources? or smt like that. I have applied for the HR MTP in italy.

I was told that the ac would be held on the 12 and 13 of may in uk nd that I would receive a reply in 2 weeks time, good luck everyone :-)

what you said about salary?I really have no idea what to say.. I have no benchmark... xcan you give me some hints?

    Hi kamea,
Yes, I'm from Poland and I submitted my application on 27th Feb. I took the tests a week ago and since than haven't heard from them (except for that e-mail that they remember) :)
Hey guys, do you know if AC is done separately for each country or for each department?
And how many people do they choose? Is it one for each department separately for each country or just a few people altogether?

  • 20 March 2011 - 12:13am
    • therealjemima

All i've been able to find is a post from 2006 for the AC in a completely different country and a different graduate scheme so I would take this information with a pinch of salt
"This is a whole day interview. There are a few tests conducted here. There are 4... Presentation, Case Study, Interview, Group Presentation. So, they will give you a case study to study and you come out with the solutions and stuff. Then, you will present (individually) your ideas and stuff to one of the interviewers in one of the hotel rooms. Then, you will go to another room for an interview session. The interview questions are guided ones. It is like a normal interview session. Then, comes the group part. Its not like a group presentation where all of you stand in front and takes turn to speak. It is a meeting-based presentation. Everyone will sit in a round table and discuss about the case study given earlier, changing views and stuff for 30 minutes I think. So, the more you speak, the more you got noticed by the interviewers. Make sure you talk about usefull stuff. Make it like a formal meeting. Then, thats it.

The sequence of the 4 tests might be changed but the overall is something like that. Hope that helps. Oh yeah! Another thing. Please do the case study as fast as you can. I personally think thats the toughest part as you dont have much time to think too much. Good Luck!"

Thea, they told me two weeks but during the interview - two days later they said end of april... I think that if you got email - this could be their response... I don't get it :/

  • 19 March 2011 - 10:20pm
    • thea

kaema: Yes, I applied to the HR MTP. Why they told you at the end of April? They told me in two weeks.. strange.

therealjemima: I know nothing about the AC process.. to tell u the truth i did not google anything because i don't believe that i will reach the AC stage.
and.. role play? seems difficult :S

but how can we find out more?
anyone already been in the AC?

    • 19 March 2011 - 11:11pm
      • therealjemima

Why don't you think you'll get to the AC stage Have they told you that you have to do another interview? Plus you've passed the application stage, the tests and the interview so you're doing something right best to keep positive.... but i guess i understand where you're coming from the fact that they short list the canditates that have passed the interview stage sort of makes me wary. there's really not a lot of recent info on the BAT AC as well which doesn't help.

  • 19 March 2011 - 7:39pm
    • kaema

I didnt get any e-mail about AC. Just that catch up call I told you about. They said that AC will take place 12th/13th May and that they will give me an info if Im in, at the end of April

Thea youre for HR MTP just like me right???
And Livia whend did you send your application??? (Im from Poland too)

    • thea

Got exactly the same e-mail yesterday. Although mine mentioned that they "will provide the list to them week commencing the 8th April". (?)
I have no idea what this means.

Also, that "the provisional dates for the HR Management Trainee Assessment Centres are 12th / 13th May".

    • 19 March 2011 - 3:09pm
      • therealjemima

Oh you're right the email says the week commencing 8th of April. It seems different programmes have different dates for the AC just don't have a definite understanding of the BAT AC process? Do you have an idea? I googled and saw on a forum that there's a group discussion, presentation and role play, but I doubt that's all.

Has anyone done the assessment centre and is willing to share their experience with us?

  • 19 March 2011 - 12:32pm
    • therealjemima

Got my email yesterday about passing the telephone interview but it was quite vague. They said congratulations that they were going to recommend me to the company to go on to the assessment centre holding on the 27th / 28th of april. I'm sort of confused because I assumed there'd be a second phone interview and it seems that even if you pass the interview with gti the company's HR decides who goes on to the AC. They said they'll be passing on the full list of candidates to BAT on the 8th of April. This is for finance though. Good Luck everyone.

    Hello guys,

I also got the same e-mail saying that the outcome wil be available before or after the 25th March. I completed my tests in the end of January and still do not have any news if I passed or not them. I have applied for the Finance graduate scheme in the UK.

Good luck to all of you. Btw I am from the Netherlands

I still haven't received any information about the numerical and logical tests, but they sent me an e-mail yesterday saying that they are aware of this and ask for patience. They also said that they'd received so many applications that they'd decided to extend the deadline for accepting them. It's now till 25th March.
I don't know if it's the same in each and every country, though. I'm from Poland.

  • 18 March 2011 - 11:26pm

anyone got an email saying they passed the telephone yet?

  • 16 March 2011 - 2:44pm
    • thea

i wish i had a lot to say!:) i didn't... she asked me to speak slowly so i did.. and i was also caught off guarded with some qs like 'how can hr help an organisation deal with change' and i was trying to think what to there u go!
of course some qs were easier to answer but some were quite hard to answer..actually i think it was one of the most difficult telephone interviews i've undergone.
if i remember more qs i'll post them, if i can help why not?
anyways, thank you livia. good luck to you too.

Oh my God... an hour? you had so much to say? :) wow, that sounds impressive.
And I have to say that when I read all the qs, I don't feel prepared at all... :(
Salary expectations? unexpected feedback? proposing sth despite opposition? :)
Well, maybe I won't have to worry since they still haven't responded ;)
Thanks a lot Thea, it's very nice of you to share your experiences and qs :)
    Good luck.

hey! what it happening? does my pc post messages on its own?
anyway i think it was ok, the questions were pretty hard at one time i was left with no examples to give for the competency questions and i was like.."i am really sorry i do not have any further examples of that". and the questions were soooo many!!! the interview lasted an hour.
and tip: she told me to speak slowly because she was taking notes so do not speak very quick bc it is not for your benefit.

livia and anyone else interested some of the numerous questions were:

    why bat
    why hr
    salary expectations
are u in other recruitment processes
a time u proposed something new depsite opposition
how do u feel working for a tobacco company
    how to search for candidates
how can hr help an organisation deal with change
a time u pushed yourself to achieve a difficult goal
a time u received an unexpected feedback
do u have questions for us

i am sure there are more that i have already forgot but this is pretty much what they ask. they said they will give me an answer in two weeks

Hmm something strange is happening here....

Thea??!! How did the interview went???!!!!

  • 15 March 2011 - 6:08pm
    • thea

kaema: I have applied here and there, had some interviews but I only made it to one AC and wasn't successful.
    What about you?
hey, how the telephone interview went?

  • 15 March 2011 - 1:32pm
    • gmc2886

Hey I applied for the Leaf Operations program in the UK. Yeah I hope so nevertheless I am a little bit worried for the AC being so late. I'm in several other recruitment processes that will have developments sooner. If you know anything about the AC let me know.

Hey :) Congrats on your interview. If you feel you did well, you'll definitely pass to the next round :) Which dep have you applied for?
I'm still waiting for any info about the results of my tests. I'm getting worried.
    All the best ;)

    Hey Guys,
I think I did well in the interview, but I am still waiting to know if I get the final call for the assessment center that I think it will be held in May. The lady from recruitment told me the provisional dates were in the end of May what is I reckon pretty late.
Does anyone of you has more information on this? (dates)

  • 15 March 2011 - 10:58am
    • gmc2886

    Hey Shayira,
As I said above, it was about 10 days before they contacted me to schedule my interview.
I can't recall exactly what were the questions, but they were very similar to what is asked usually on competency based interviews.
I prepared some of the above on the forum and I was fine. This is a competency based interview, so no technical questions, in the end the lady is from HR so she doesn't know more than you about the operational part.
I believe that the questions you get are also related to what are your answers.
    Good luck,

  • 14 March 2011 - 7:31pm

you're right, thanks a lot anyway for all the support and help!
    fingers crossed it goes well!

  • 14 March 2011 - 6:04pm
    • kaema

Thea no, they didn't asked about economic recession. Why are you worry about tobacco question?? Just say what you think! ;) I said (maybe it wasnt't so good I dont know...) that buissnes is buissnes and as long as they give all the informations about consequences of smoking I don't have nothing against it. I chose BAT because of opportunieties they give... doesnt really matter to me if its tobbaco company or food company....

And yes im lucky :> I will wait longer for respond :D

  • 14 March 2011 - 5:29pm
    • thea

mine was two days after the logical test.. they're quite quick! so good luck livia!
if you have any further news about your application, please post!

yes, quite nervous! more nervous about the hr questions and the ones about tobacco!

i was wondering, did they ask you kaema about the economic recession? or about the graduate programme itself?

    lucky kaema, you're done!

  • 14 March 2011 - 4:21pm
    • kaema

I got an email to schedule interview a day after taking logical test.

good luck to you too ;))

    Thea, how are you? Nervous?

  • 14 March 2011 - 10:35am
    • livia

    Hi guys :)
I've applied to the HR division. I've already taken the numerical and logical reasoning tests on Friday and I'm waiting for a response.
I'm a bit scared after kamea said they ask some strict HR questions. How long did you have to wait for the phone interview after you took the online tests, kamea? :)
Good luck to all of you :)
BTW, I think that the 'catch up' call is a good sign so don't worry :)

  • 11 March 2011 - 12:01pm
    • thea

that's weird.. i've never heard of such a 'catch up' before.
yeah it's quite long.. well, what to do?

  • 11 March 2011 - 10:47am
    • kaema

    Thanks Thea ;)

They've just called me again out of the blue.... "Just to catch up after my interview" but the lady asked again about my motivation. She said that further information will be at the end of april... Quite long to wait :(

  • 10 March 2011 - 5:12pm
    • thea

No, don't say that. Sometimes we judge ourselves too hard. Yes, you might had a little difficutly in expressing your view but still, the interviewer might liked what you did say after all.

Thank you for your wishes although i also believe that it is going to be too hard to get to the next stage :)

  • 10 March 2011 - 3:39pm
    • kaema

Actually I must sound weird. For some questions I talk and talk, others like:

What challenges face tobacco company HR in the current situation on the market?
How to search for candidates to work in the company of tobacco?
    What difficulties can meet recruiters?

I tried to say what I think, but I just wasn't prepared for that so I ended mumbling with a great lack of words... like i couldnt speak english at all...

So my feeling is not too good :/

This is my first application to BAT - and must say that I was suprise that recruitment process is so International... I was sure that if I got to AC it will be in Poland. But i dont worry... i think there's no way I get so far after that interview... ;)

So really really good luck to you!!!!!!! ;)

I have just finished my interview. It was kind of hard... He asked me strickt HR questions, beside checking the motivation and behaviors.
i was stressed - prepared but not for everything. I feel tired now :D

He said that they will give further info in two weeks and Assessment is in May in UK.

So you didn't apply to BAT erlier?

    Hello fellow wiki users,

I applied for the MTP (the Human Resources role) and I was invited to attend a telephone interview.

All your info here is very helpful and thank you very much for contributing to each other's success.

Only, if anyone here remembers what exaclty they ask about tobacco and cigarettes, their contribution would be very much appreciated :)

    Good luck to everyone!

    Hello guys,

I've also applied for the Management trainee scheme in BAT for the fiinance department. I have completed both tests two weeks ago and I still dont have a response from them. My status says: " your application is under consideration". Do you know how long does it take to get a response from them? I have also noticed that BAT extended their time for applying to the grad schemes from 11th of March till 25th of March. Does anyone of you who is in the same situation like me, sent them an e-mail to get updates on his/her status?

Good luck to all of you!!!

  • 23 February 2011 - 12:04am
    • Dee_boy situation is similar to yours Shayira. I applied for the MTP on 14th Feb, heard back immediately on 15th Feb to take the numerical one, took it the same day & heard back on the 16th to take the logical reasoning one. Havent heard from them about the result since then tho...its a bit worrying seeing as other people have been taking interviews...

    Hey Tirtha,
Thank you for the congrats, but I just feel like I did well...
Anyway, I submitted my application on the 24th of January, got invited for the first tests on the 2nd of Feb. for the second tests a couple of days later and then got an invitation to schedule my interview on the 13th...
I did the interview today and I'll get to know if I pass to the next phase within 2 weeks...
    Hope this helps,
    Good Luck!

    • gmc2886

    Hey Shayira,
I already had my interview that went pretty well.
The lady was very nice and started with the normal questions of why the department I was applying for, why BAT, and then some general questions about tobacco, cigarretes and stuff like that, nothing too technical. I would imagine that the questions vary from department to another.
Apart from this she made me a bunch of competency related questions such as the ones written above (teamwork, failure, leadership). She also asked me if I was in other recruitment processes and what were my salary expectations.
Relax and try to sound confident! As they say on the email, they are listening to learn about you. It's not a test.
    Good Luck.

PS- Could anyone please assure the management trainee programme (operations) is based in London?
I know graduates will spend a significant part of the time traveling around the countries BAT sources the tobacco from, but the leaf programme has no operations based in aylesbury, right?

    Thank you

      Hi gmc2886,
Thanks for the reply. I still haven't heard from them regarding the outcome of my test. How lomng did it take for them to get back to your after you took the test? I'm glad your interview went well. Please can you elaborate more on the questions she asked about tobacco and cigarettes? How many competency questions did she ask? Will be grateful if you elaborated on them also. Thank you

I wanted to know about the time-frame that BAT took to get in touch with you. When did you apply for the MTP and when did they invite you for the test?

      Thanx a ton in advance!

    @ knowslian,

    thanks very much, greatly appreciated

  • 5 August 2010 - 8:32pm
    • Knowslian

It is neither Kenexa or SHL when I did it.

It was a Hudson TalentQ test I believe. It isn't like the SHL / Kenexa ones; quite unique like reading a report or something and having to make numerical calculations. Answers are multiple choice (out of 20+ for some).

The Logic test isn't too hard; you will be doing "good" to get halfway through before time up.

    • 10 February 2011 - 5:49pm
      • shayira

      Hi Knowslian,
I just got an email advising me to take the numerical and abstract tests? It says it's SHL, so I'm wondering if yours said SHL as well. (I know you took your test last year). Oh, and by the way, did you make it to the interview stage? If you did can you please give me a clue of the sort of questions you were asked? Thank you!!

Lol!!!!!!! Thanks for info! Sounds like an absolutely stressful test!

  • 4 August 2010 - 12:02am
    • Knowslian

Yeah, some needed you to round to the closest value in those drop down boxes.
I swear for some of the questions, the answer was unattainable from the given information, for example the bus timetable.

  • 3 August 2010 - 10:49pm
    • jungle_boogie

@knowslian, I was referring to the numerical one. Did you have to approximate some of your answers to the closest number? (Thanks for the answer so far, by the way).

  • 3 August 2010 - 9:29pm
    • Knowslian

    @ jungle_boogie

Not sure which you mean, but for the "numerical" one I finished all the questions and swear I only got 10% correct. Though I passed.

The logic one was ridiculous; only answered 20 out of 32 (?) questions.

Haven't heard back off that one yet.

  • 3 August 2010 - 9:10pm
    • jungle_boogie

@knowslian, how many were you able to answer of the talentQ test?

  • 20 July 2010 - 1:15pm
    • Knowslian

The test I was given was some bizarre TalentQ test which was freaking tough! There were only 12 questions with "no time limit." Though you had 90 seconds for each question so go figure...

    Hi Nina,
I took the tests too and didn't finish the abstract one neither. How did the other one work out for you?

    Hi there,

I applied for the trainee program and I was told to take an abstract reasoning test which I did and in my opinion there was no time. I did like half of it. Does anyone know if they put too much importance on this pre-test before the interview???

i had the telephone interview a couple of weeks ago
i applied to the marketing area, so questions will be quite different
anyway, you will probably be asked about:
-tell me a time when you experienced difficulties in implementing something new into a group
-tell me a time when you tried to do something and you didn't succeed...tell me what you did in order to succeed
i don't remember the third question
    She will also ask:
    -why did you choose bat?
    -why finance?
-tell me your strenghts and your weaknesses
-what do you think about working for a tobacco company
-are you willing to move to foreign countries?
    I am italian
    good luck...i got rejected :D
