Has anybody else applied for this scheme? I have a telephone interview for it this afternoon, and was wondering if anybody else was at the same stage?
Hi - New conversation for 2014 candidates here: http://www.wikijob.co.uk/forum/retail-fmcg-manufacturing/heineken-international-graduate-program-igp-2014
In the job description it says you need to speak 3 languages? Is this strictly true? Everyone that's been successful, do you all speak 3 languages fluently? I only have English and don't want to apply if it will be pointless!
Finally I managed to talk to them and i'm sorry to say that those who haven't been contacted yet wont continue in the process
did you send the email to [email protected]
thats what i did and still nothing
weird. i emailed and got a reply w/in the hour. maybe try again?!
what did they say?
has anyone tried to contact them? i sent them an email last week and havent still received and answer
I emailed the person which interviewed me monday and they said to email the IGP email directly as they run it
chances are really dropping by the day marcus.
I think that by now we should have already been contacted so in case that we haven't chances are very low...
Maybe its a function by function thing then.. Has anybody heard from I.T for those who had interviews on 16th April from Nigeria then?
Which function did you apply to and when is your date for the assessment centre please? Congratulations to you all the same...
HR. 26th & 27th June . Thank you.
Hi Esther I hope you got the job....anyways am jst starting my own process and I would love to get all the necessary informations such as the kinda questions being asked right from the online inductive reasoning test to the face to face interview and yes I also applied for HR. Thanks
Hi Tunde I didnt get the International graduate programme although I got offered a place in Nigerian Breweries Instead but I got a job offer at Shell at the time. I made it to the assessment center in Amsterdam so I might be able to help. The Online inductive reasoning varies yearly cos mine was SHL based... the telephone interview is to know more about you, why you applied for the HGP,, what you know about the brewing industry, why you applied for HR, ... etc. the face to face interview is competency based questions..etc. all the best
Hi esther thanks for the previous info...I made it to the face to face interview and would jst like to knw if u remember any specific questions asked so I can be very prepared and also pls what's the assessment center all about what did u guys do there....am hoping u remember :)
Thanks so much for the information....do have a fabulous weekend.
Which function did you apply to Esther and when is your date for the assessment centre please?
Congrats to those who have received notification from Heineken. Those that did their interview in Nigeria haven't received feedback. We are waiting and keeping our fingers crossed and praying hard.
hiii Cmega123, I did my face-to-face interview on the 15th of April in Nigeria and I received feedback of an invitation to the assessment center on Monday 6th of May.
Wow. that's cool. Congrats. What function did you apply for? I applied for I.T. Are the replying candidates by function? I am getting scared.
Thanks everyone. I applied for corporate relations
Eleana which function did you apply to pls?
Hi guys, I have not received anything yet, but I think we can start considering this silence a rejection.. :( Let us know if u receive good/bad news!
has any of you been invited to the AC for the supply chain area?
Hey guys, @IGP123 I got my email yesterday. I guess they will give feedback this week or next. I know how anxious you must feel, stay positive. :)
@AJS just give it a couple more days, you never know. :)
sorry my fault ....the above is to read: I did not get any e-mail
What? Did you get or did you not get an invitation?!!
I did get an invitation, which by now clearly means REJECTED :S so so sad :S
Hi Ronnie, when did you get your email? Did anyone get a rejection email yet? I applied for finance and still haven't heard from them :(
Hi guys, I just came across this forum and I'm so excited I found it. I applied for the IGP Finance programme and just got my email that I have been invited for the AC on the 26th -27th of June. Looking forward to meeting you all. :)
Congrats Elena. Really cool...
Congrats, Elena!AlL the best for the coming AS. Did they mention which one of the assessment centers you are attending?
Btw I created a facebook group as well to make communication a bit easier among us. It's open access, so join!
Yes!! Just got notified that I passed the face to face interview =) However, the sentence saying that the A/C "brings together the best applicants globally to compete for the limited places in the 2013 HEINEKEN International Graduate Programme" kinda freaks me out a bit - does anyone have any idea of how many candidates are going to attend and how many places are available for the programme? I sense this is going to be harder than I expected :/
They told me that we could expect to start receiving invitations for the AC by the 1st of May
Did my interview on the 16th. They said i would get feedback in May. Keeping my fingers crossed. Goodluck pals.
yeah this whole waiting is def killing :S
Just did my face to face interview for corporate relations. Very smooth and relaxed :) Guess it will takes them ages to give the results, they are sooo slow at this, haha. Anyone knows anything about the assessment centre and what to expect?
Hi guys, did any of you get any feedback from the face-to-face interview? Please let us know if you do, I asked them but they were pretty vague about the times... Thanks and fingers crossed!
Thanks for your question, @esther89! My face to face interview went pretty well to be honest. I was interviewed by an employee and an HR manager but they were really nice and made sure I felt comfortable the whole time. They started asking me about my recent experience (my tasks, my responsibilities, projects, etc.) and from there they went deeper and deeper in order to see specific examples of "best team behaviours". They were also interested in more technical stuff: recruitment and selection techniques, motivation of employees, conflict solving...
Don't feel stressed! If you know your CV by heart and have refreshed your knowledge about your field (HR, Finance or whatever you're applying for), it should go smoothly. Basically they're going to be discussing about your life, and you're the greatest expert about it, right? :)
Has anyone done the face-to-face finance interview? Any tips?
C3P0474,please were the questions asked during the telephone interview repeated?
C3p0474, please which job function did u apply for and what are d questions asked? Is only about ur job functn only or they included about heineken too. Thnks
For those who have taken the face to face interview I hope its okay to ask the numer of interviewers on the panel and like how long did the interview last for
And by the way, GraduateSeekingJob, you are talking about the face to face interview, right? Not the telephone interview.
Yes, I'm talking about the face to face interview. How long has is taken others to hear back about the result of their face to face interview? Good luck everyone!
Thanks a lot, GraduateSeekingJob!
Kate1234, mine is next week as well!
Good luck everyone!
Hi. Please, i have my face to face interview next Tuesday. I applied for IT. Please, any tips on how it would go. Has anyone here done the face to face interview for IT? Would really appreciate feedback soonest. Thanks pals.
Hi Hnkn.. i haven't taken my interview yet, it's going to be next week.. when's yours? It'd be nice if the first of us who takes it share the questions! :)
Did any of you applying for Corporate Relations have the face to face interview? Any tips/examples regarding the questions asked would be super appreciated!! Thanks in advance!
Hi, I had my corporate relations interview and was mostly asked technical questions concerning their products, market share, the industry etc. Hope that helps!
has anyone of you received a rejection? I had my interview 2 weeks ago and still no answer. I guess it is not at all a good sign ...but just wondering if anyone is in the same situation as I am ....
Tomorrow I will be struggling with my face-to-face interview for the HR area. I'm trying to think about and plan as many personal examples of competencies as I can, but if the interview is 90 minutes long I don't know what else will be covered... Fingers crossed!
Hi psanz how did your face to face interview go on wednesday. Please will you be able to give me any help as to the sort of questions to expect. Thank you very much
Please has anybody done face to face interview on IT? Please what are the questions to expect? I applied for IT and i have face to face. Interview next week. Thnks
Thanks a lot c3PO474! I have applied for CR but that's helpful to understand the question type! :) Good luck everyone, let's keep in touch!
hi guys.... has anyone who applied for HR done face-to-face interview
Hi peter,I applied for supply chain.have you been contacted for a face to face interview?
No, not yet :(
Has anybody applying for supply chain area done the personal interview?
hi everyone! I have been invited for a face-to face interview! Anyone round here has taken the interview? I'd be nice to have an idea of the type of questions! Cheers and good luck everyone!
The phone interview was not as hard as I was expecting, but it's true I did a lot of research about the company. I have my personal interview in Madrid on April 10, and I'm quite anxious about it. It's good to hear from past experiences. This Graduate Scheme is a unique opportunity and I can't wait to see what happens!
I've been a reader for some time now and thought I'd post after my telephone interview today. This was one of the shortest interviews I've had, don't know if that is a good thing or bad ;)
It was pretty much the standard competency interview, but they did not ask me talk about my CV - very specific questions about Heineken acquisitions, brands and issues facing the brewing industry today.
I've finished my interview. It's not easy (for my case). I've applied for Supply Chain but I'am asked about marketing strategies, brands and aquisitions (25 min/40 min). She's very kind : "Do you want to add something to your answer ?". I really appreciate even if I'm not selected. But I've have some technical questions which are not really difficult. I'm asked also about my quality and skill. I'll have a feedback in 2 weeks.
no, they didnt ask anything about marketing campaigns and marketing strategies. about heineken itself they talk about brands and products of heineken and also acquisitions of heienken too, but dont worry. the interview is not so hard as you are thinkig. just look at heineken's website and it will be fine
Know about heineken, recent acquisition, brands, etc. What is the motivation for applying to igp? What do u know about igp, what are ur skill, why did u apply for the. Funtion u applied for.... what will ur action be if you are asked to relocate to another country. E.t.c
I have applied for the commerce function and I have posted my experience. Any question you need just ask me.
Want help with numerical, verbal or reasoning tests? Test expert with experience of cracking tests for more than 40 companies. Inbox for help.
I had my interview yesterday and the questions were: why did you apply to igp? which function and why? why should we pick u to work with us? what other brands do you know? if you have to move to another country what would you do? what are the main dificulties?
Do you know when we will know if we have passed this stage?
I just had my telephone interview for the International Graduate Programme, for the Finance role, make sure to make a good research about the company, I had a question about the latest Heineken's major acquisition and about the company's operations, which are the products of the company etc. I also had some motivation questions and some competencies, good luck
It is interesting that you divulge such information to the persons that are ultimately your competitors...
I have the 45-minute interview on 25 March. It will be in English (though I am in France). I applied for the supply chain prog.
Hey, I will have my interview tomorrow. How long it took yours? Mine will be 1hour interview, is it the same for you?
I applied for IT as well and there was no technical questions. Just know about Heineken and igp.
thnks for the replies, i will be having my own interview on the 22nd of this month, I applied for IT. any info on this?
Hi guys!! As I've promised, I'm now gonna tell you about my experience with the telephone interview. As Darah already pointed out, it wasn't a technical interview. In my case, it was a 20-minute interview that assessed my general knowledge and motivations. Make sure you know what you're doing and why you're applying to the program. Have a nice day and good luck! :)
I had a phone interview today. It was not technical. Know about the strategies and products of Heineken. Also Know why you want to be part of IGP. You will be fine.
How was your interviews? I havent heard anything from them yet!
Hi guys, i'm in the same situation. The only info I have is that the interview will be in English and it will last around 30 mins. Let us know about the type of questions! Good luck everyone!
Hi guys, as for me I got an email last Thu telling me that my interview would be on next Monday. I'll definitely post my experience with the interview once I've completed the process. Wish you guys all the best!
Chisandy, I am still waiting for the call.Where are you from and which function have you applied?
Hi cyzh, yeah your comment really helped and I wish you success in your interview. As for me, I'm still waiting for the call
Hi cyzh, yeah your comment really helped and I wish you success in your interview
Got a phone call from the HR in my region (UK) yesterday to arrange my tele in. It will be on the coming Monday and the interviewer will be a business manager instead of HR, it will last around 30 mins. And I even got the date when the interview result will come out, in my case, it will be on 5th Apr. That's all the information I have now. Hope it can help. Anyone in the same situation?
Hi everyone, I've done my online test on 2nd Feb. Just found out I got an email on 7th March saying that I've passed it, the email was in my junk mail, almost missed it. So maybe for those who haven't heard of anything, check your junk mail! Now I'm really worried about the coming tele in. Has anyone from the UK contacted by the regional office? any ideas of what kind of questions should be expected for the tele in? Thanks and good luck!
Hi steve2k25,hw was ur phone interview?
I have no idea. Have you been contacted by Heineken on your region? Do you know if the interview will be in enlgish or another language?
hiii what questions should one expect at the telephone interview
they should start interviewing from monday.. have you all got an email inviting you already?
Please we would rily appreciate it if someone could help us out wit wat to expect during the phone interviews.
No idea, I wanted to know too. The first person to have the interview should share the experienceee! I believe they will call next week or maybe send an email with the interview date!!
Hello everyone, please what kind of questions where asked during the telephone interview?please help a fellow here, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee.I am to expect the call any moment from tomorrow
anyone else received updates? i was expecting a reply by today as they start phone interviews on monday, but nothing yet... fingers crossed! will they let us know if we're unsuccessful?
Hey! I have received the same email. Heineken from Portugal will contact me for the telephone internview. I dont know when it will be. Do you know when yours is?
Nope, nothing yet, this stage of the recruitment process begins on 11th of March. It would be nice, though, to receive some news earlier. good luck and keep us posted!
Hey Guys, any of you have received any news about the telephone interview? cheers
That's a tedious process:) Do you know if the content will differ? Like the types of competencies they assess you on?
first is the telephone interview and if u get passed it, there is the face-to-face interview
Does anyone know if we are to have both telephone and face-to-face interview or just choose one of the means?
I have also taken it today:) Not sure about 4-6 questions but it wasn't too bad overall:)
Hi guys, how well did u do at the online ability test? I think i have mistaken a few (about 6 to 8) questions out of 24. Let's hope for the best!
I ve just taken the test!! actually, I wasn't sure about the last 6-8 questions too, but at least it was fun! ahah let's cross the fingers and good look to everyone ;)
hello guys, finally somewhere to share some ideas ... best of luck for this year IGP i applied last week and waiting for the test link what was it about logical , numeric reasoning or what to expect i'm applying for supply chain ... do you all guys have masters degrees
thank you and good luck again for all of us
Thank you Hello123! (I'm Barbara :)) I only did the logical reasoning test (the series of symbols, etc.) so let's keep in touch when we hear smth!
hey! I did the logical ability test a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard anything back....is this normal? Or maybe I'll have to wait some weeks after the deadline?
Hey everyone! I just applied for the programme. I'm really excited but nervous also. I don't have much experience and I don't know what king of people they're looking for. This seems awesome, hopefully I'll be selected. Good luck to everyone and stay in touch! (at least until I hear from them) Cheers!
ok thanks! do they let you know if you're unsuccessful or they just don't get back to you?
I've read somewhere that they give you always the feedback, either negative or positive!
Hello everyone. I received the invitation for the 2nd stage and completed the online ability test on 1st of Feb, however I didn't hear anything from Heineken yet. Any of you have receive any confirmation from them? Have anyone receive information for the call interview? Thanks a lot for the help. And good luck everyone
hey there! I'm applying for the programme right now! I'm writing the cover letter! I'm not familiar with this kind of selection, I'm currently studying in UK and I'll finish my Msc Marketing in August and I've never applied for a professional job... and these long processes (online test, psychometric est and AC) are not so common in my country... I was wondering in what the online test consists.. can you give me some insights?
hello! i've just applied now, how long did you guys had to wait to receive the link? :) do you know if there is a brand new conversation about this year somewhere or is this the only one?
Hey. It takes around 5 days to them reply to you with the invitation for the next stage, however, it can varied.
Maybe in few weeks you will receive an email to complete the second stage (online assignment).I dont know if there is another conversation, we have just stared this one to give feedback to each other about the recruitment process*
Hello Mirca and Igp,
I have applied to this programme too and I have received the link for the online test last week.I have done it last friday but I did not receive any confirmation.
Do you know when we will know if you went to next stage?
Thank you, Adriana
I have also applied for this year progamme, but i have not received yet the online assesment (which, if succesful CV, you are supposed to receive starting with 28th of January). Does someone else receive it already?
first of all thanks to the former candidates for your input and for sharing your experiences.
I´ll be attending the AC the 25th&26th and am looking forward to meeting you guys. Seen that we got this far, we surely do have a lot in common.
Great idea with the FB group aswell.

Hey GlasgowRev!! Really nice to see that someone from Scotland will join as well....From which part r u frm???
I'm also attending the AC on the 25&26. I'm impressed by the comments on this forum. I find them really handy. Special thanks to Emperor007 and Fransisco.
Really looking forward to meeting you guys.
Firstly congratulations to everyone for your success!
I will attend the AC at 25-26th of June (I have applied for finance as well). I will arrive at Amsterdam's airport around 13:00. I will be happy to meet the rest of you guys before the dinner!
Hello everhbody! :)
I have been waiting for the AC in Amsterdam for Heineken, and - looking for info about it - I hit on your discussions :). Let me say that WikiJob is really cool, and I found all what I have read so far absoultely interesting. That's why I decided to actively take part into the discussion! :) I am going to take part to the assessment centre on the 25th-26th, I applied for Finance. I saw you guys created a FB group to discuss any issue about the AC. I just sent out my request for joining it! :) Hopefully my application will be accepted!
It would be cool to know who is going to partecipate to the second AC. I saw that ppl joining for the 18th one have already set to meet at the airport and spend the first afternoon together. It would be cool to do the same for the second assessment round! Soooo..Let me know who is joining for the second AC, and - plz - accept me in the group! :D
Take care and cheers! ;)
Hi guys! I just came across this forum while trying to gather some insights about the Heineken AC. I'm superpsyched to have found a group to share opinions with, hope my FB request gets accepted also:D. I'm flying in on the 17th as well, can't wait to meet as many of you as possible! Oh and a quick thanks to the current IGs who were so kind to share their experience and advice! :)
do you know approximately how many candidates will be in the assessment center?
Thanks Emperor007...!!!!! I m gonna have in mind eveyrhing u suggested..I was also thinkinkg the same things...C u in Amsterdam:) !
Fantastic summary, Emperor007!!! Thanks a lot! See you in a couple of days :)
Alright, I think I can spare some minutes. Forum's like this assisted me a great deal, so its only right I give back. Been seeing you guys chatting and felt the urge to tell you what you may be up with.
When you come into Amsterdam, you'll be picked at the airport by an executive chauffeur, you and others as well. You'll be driven straight to your hotel and later you'll need to come down for a dinner with some HR staffs and some IGP's of previous sets. I might even get to meet some of you! At the dinner, have it in mind that the assessment has begun (although you'll be encouraged that it hasn't started). Conduct yourself well, interact well with other candidates, IGP's and staffs and enjoy the night. The IGP is a pool of international candidates so expect to see different nationalities.
Day 2. This is the huge day really. You'll start off with a session with the HR+ other senior staffs which is like a 30 mins brief or so. Then you'll be split into groups of 6 (based on last year's experience) and your day would be as thus; group project, role play, project writing. And a question and answer session. Lunch in between. By the end of the day you will be knackered believe me. It will be intense, edgy, thinking out of the box through out. Ensure you follow the standard interview habits and above all be yourself. If you try faking yourself because you want to create an impression, it can't last for the 3 days. The assessors are experienced and would see through that. Easily. Your day would end with a dinner at the Heineken Ice Cold bar with the assessors. Of course you are being assessed.
Day 3. A presentation in the morning with your individual groups. You'll be given time for project closure and the presentation. Should be nice and easy. A final collective presentation and then lunch. With a visit to the famous heineken experience centre.
Short advise- Be yourself. Dont try to fake anything, as with all 'fakes', the fake you can not last. Like I mentioned assessors are quite experienced and would look out for the candidates that fit the needed competencies. Try as much as possible to be at easy and enjoy yourself! All the best!
I am also attending the AC. Don't know still if it is going to be the first or the second week. I am pretty excited to participate in this event, specially since it is the first time guys from Mexico have this chance. I've requested access to the Facebook page as well. Good luck to all of you!
I think it should still be business attire. In the evenings though, you may just go business casual.
Hey Guys any idea about the attire ??? do we have to wear suit on both the days or formals ?? how it has been in past years?
Francisco if you would like to comment :) Thanks .. Open to others as well ...
Hello everyone! I'm André and I'll also be attending the AC in Amsterdam. I have lurked around this forum during my preparation for the face-to-face interview but now it was so active that I decided to participate in the conversation. I saw you guys created a FB page. Great idea!! It's nice to meet before the AC. Makes us feel more comfortable during it. I am on the AC of the 18th and 19th of June but since I'm now living in The Netherlands I can also meet anyone that comes earlier for the second AC. Looking forward to meet you guys!
Nice idea! First of all, congrats to the new joiners: Adelaide and James ;) @Adelaide: I'm also attending the second round of the AC and happy to wander around Amsterdam in company ;) On my way to Facebook!
Oh, excellent idea :) I've just send the request. so see u guys on facebook!
So here we have the facebook group for the Heineken IGP:
It will be easier to get to know each other and try to plan our meeting! :)
I'll join the group immediately, wish to find everyone in there before leaving.
Hopefully someone else will accidentally get into this forum like me :)
Cool! I have send you a message :)
Hey Cortada, I was thinking the same thing...it is much more easier to communicate on fb....if u want u can send me ur email an add u and we can start the group...alternatively If u want I can send u mine...:D
Hey! I haven't received anything as well! I guess that this week we will receive the information pack. I can give you my number (although it may not work in Amsterdam) / Facebook profile / e-mail... Whatever u want! :) Maybe we could create a Facebook group for us, it will be easier to arrange everything!
Hey Roberto!!!! Still waiting...they sent me only travel info...I have no problem giving u my number, skype or fb profile if u like.....
Hey Guys!! I just knew today about this forum, what i wonderful idea!!
I am Adelaide and i am also going to the AC but on the 2nd week! Actually i was also on the 17th and 18th but they asked me to go on the week after and i accepted.
Which of you are going on the 24th? I chose the flight that arrives in the morning of 24th so i can go for a walk around Amsterdam in the afternoon. I would like to know if i will have some company :)
And congrats to everyone!!! :D
I'm always glad to help.
1) The salary depends on the country where your contract will be based on. If you have a Heineken Operating Company in your home country, that should be it. If not, then it depends on the closest or you attended the face-to-face interview.
However, you are provided with accomodation and a COL (cost of living) depending on the country you're going to, which should be of help.
2) You don't usually get to choose a location in any of your placements. However, there is always a chance to try to influence them by trying to know about possible opportunities in an OpCo and 'sell' yourself to the manage who requested to ask specifically for you. For the first placement that is not possible of course, but still, if it is like the previous years, the first assignment should be in Europe.
Hope this helps.
All the best for the AC.
Ok Ned!!!! We can meet at the airport....I searched online and there is great transportation from Schiphol, so we won;t have any problem.......:D....
Have you received any further infos about the accomodation or the AC program in general? I'm still waiting..
In any case I will join you when I get in the city (I will be in Schiphol at 12.50).
We can share our contacts somehow before leaving our country!
Hi Alex, I’m flying from Birmingham. Do u want to meet at the airport? Then we can try to find the hotel (orientation is not my strength though:D).
Thanks a lot Francisco! This is really helpful :) We are going to follow your advice and enjoy it! :D I will be in Amsterdam from the 15th, so if you plan anything, I will come as well! Good luck to everyone!
Hey Ned_89 I am arriving also at 11;30....R u catching the AliTalia flight from Rome too????
Thanks a lot Francisco! I guess you know what exactly we feel at the moment. It was fantastic that you shared your experience with us :)
I’ve received my flight details as well, will arrive at Schiphol at 11 30. I’m still waiting for more information about the AC and accommodation. It seems that we’ll have a free day on 17th, let’s try to make most of it.
See you very soon!
Francisco you have been very nice, I'm sure that the AC will be a great experience. Thank you for advices and wishes!
Guys, I've just received my flight details: I will arrive to Schiphol at 12.50, so the 17th I will have all the afternoon and the evening for meet all of you..
They told me that I will receive further details in the next days (probably next week) about accomodation, transfer etc..but I think that nothing will be organized by them for 17th afternoon 'cause everyone will for sure have different timings.
See you soon! I will continue to check this forum to be updated about your news!
Thank you so much for your help FMV86, it sounds like a great experience :D And the fact of you showing up in this forum one year later, attempting to share your experience with forthcoming participants...That's so kind of you :) @mayank21 Congratulations! Best of luck and joy at the AC!
Hey Guys came across this forum....Congratulations to all of you who have made it to this stage.... I will also be there in Amsterdam on 17th June... Still waiting for the flight details..... see you all soon!!! and Lets plan something for 17th, ...
Thanks Francisco!!!!...U helped a lot....I was thinking just the same things that u described...I also strongly believe that being urself is the best way to show ur true capabilities and way of thinking....I didn;t know that the activities where grouped with the other functions, but I m sure this will be a rather interesting experience......Cheers mate!!!!! xx
Hello Roxana and Alex. In fact the activities will take place amongst candidates from different functions. I don't know about specific number of candidates but normally these depend on the number of people they are looking for the different functions as well. You should have 1,5 days of different activities and the afternoon of the 2nd day to go to Heineken Experience! However, as written in a post from last year, there is time to get to know each other and decompress between activities. One of the reasons why I believe and enjoyed this AC more is exactly because of the environment and attitude they expect from you. One of our core values is: Enjoyment. So I even advise against an aggressive behaviour. That's why they also invite people to arrive the day before and have a welcome dinner. I didn't need any special preparation and think that you can and should see it almost as if you were in a workshop being all already part of HEINEKEN. Wanting the best for each other and watch over the group success, without constraining your opinions and attitudes. For at last, considering you believe in yourself, you want them to know exactly how you are. So, save your time thinking about hiding your defects and ENJOY your time, so that afterwards, more than looking back to your performance, you can feel a sense of belonging to a group, to a program, to HEINEKEN.
Hope this helps, and sorry for not suggesting any preparation for the AC but I really don't think that in terms of activities there are special requirements compared to other AC. Meanwhile, if I remember something I will let you know. Cheers!
Hello Francisco!!!! Its very kind of u to offer ur help and experience....Well one question that I have is how many condidates are at the AC ?? (i mean for a specific function like SC or HR, and not in total of cource...:P), I know that we will receive information about the AC and the different actvities, so I m not gonna ask u about that, but in general, which attitude should we have?? for example one of my friends that went to another AC in UK for a British company, they suggested to have a rather formal and aggressive behaviour.....(????????).....Anyway, anything that u would like to share would be rather helpfull....roxana, I think that the actusl assessment activities will take place amongst the candidates of the same finction, as it is easier this way to measure performance, and maybe they have one extra mixed.......Francisco thank u fr ur wishes...:D
Hi Francisco, it's very nice of you to volunteer to answer some of our questions and of course, i think we all understand that you cannot really tell us what we are going to be asked :). However, I'm applying for Finance and what I wanted to ask you is whether during the AC I will be assessed only against other candidates for Finance or against candidates for other tracks as well. For example, I assume we are going to have some workshops, cases, etc. Will the teams be mixed or according the track you applied for? Also, it might be different from one track to another, but how quantitative is the whole thing going to be? Is there anything you suggest we should really prepare before the AC? I know it's more than one question but I think it would help us all to know these things. Thanks!
Hello everyone, as this is something I would have liked to have one year ago, I had already planned that this year before the AC I would try to find some of these forums to answer questions you might have.
I'm an IG from last year, in Supply Chain, currently in the middle of my 2nd assignment in Nigeria.
I'm for sure not going to tell you exactly which questions are there in the AC, but can always let you know about the environment, structure, etc.
Feel free to post any questions and I will answer appropriately (just like football managers in the press conferences :p)
I'm sure you will enjoy the 2-day AC and will consider it an excellent experience, regardless of the outcome.
Good luck to all!
Hi Francisco, so kind of you to provide such an information.
It would be really great on your part if you could shed some light on the below point -
I have been selected and will be attending AC at Amsterdam in june 2012.
1) Could please provide approx salary which an IGP candidate gets ? I have a family to support and would be helpful in planning
2) Do you get the chance to choose for the location during your first 18 months ?
Thanks in advance.
Hey raxana.isaiu...for what function have u applied??? I was only told that I am going to have an interview in order to meet me better, thats all......
Hey 1987Pablo....if we r all lucky enough and finally be offered a position, there is a chance to meet each other at our placements.....u never know...:)
I'm considering asking for a change on my dates...wanna meet y'all guys haha
Thank you roxana and cortada!!!! If i have any news, I will let u know as well!!!!! AS soon we have the details necessary I will definately plan something...see you all soon!!!!!!!!!! xx
Hi guys! That’s fantastic! I have never been in Amsterdam but I’m sure that it’s a great city and we’ll have a good time before/during the AC (Roxana can do a sightseeing tour for us: D).
See you soon:)
Alex, I'm travelling with my own expenses, because I wanted to go to Amsterdam earlier and return later, and I wanted to fly from London to Amsterdam and return from Amsterdam to Barcelona. It was a little bit complicated to arrange everything so I told them i would pay for my flights! Anyway, once we know the hotel and all the details, we can arrange sthing! :) can't wait to see everyone!
As I said, I am already in Amsterdam (I live here) but they told me I will have to stay in the same hotel as the rest of the participants, so that's really great. However, I haven't received any further information regarding the accommodation, but I guess we will be given our rooms on the 17th. It would be great to meet and get to know each other at least a little bit before the two AC days. I'll let you know if I receive any other e-mails from them. Looking forward to meeting you all!
Hello Roberto87!!!! I am at the same situation as you r....I told them my flight preferences and that was it, still waiting for some additional information....I believe that we will receive a full detailed information pack, but I don;t know when........anyway, since we will be all staying at the same place I m so looking forward to meet u all in person, after so long time and waiting together.....:D....@ cortada, still no news regarding the hotel arrangements, probably we will receive info all at the same time in the near fututre (I hope).....So how did u arrange to go to Amsterdam earlier??? u r traveling with ur own expenses? because I could only choose the time of the flights and not the actual days.......
Hello everyone! Finally I found somebody over the internet speaking about the AC!
It's the first time that I'm posting something over here and it's quite hard to understand well who is going to take part to the 18-19 June AC.
Anyway congratulations to everyone! I'm extremely happy to face this 2 days!
They asked me for my flight preferences and I'm waiting for their conferm. No news about the accomodation but we will stay for sure in the same place.. :)
Alex, Roxana, Pablo, Cortada, Ned, let me know when you have booked! Can't wait for the 17th!!
Hello everyone! :) I will be in Amsterdam on the 15th, because I have some friends and cousins there and I will go earlier! So if you want to do anything on the 17th, I'm in it! :) Alex123, do you know in which hotel are we staying? I haven't heard anything about that!
Congrats Ned_89...I'm wondering if I will be the only one attending the second round of the AC :D
Hey guys I will be there on 17th too, but I m still waiting to find out which flight they have booked me...., but probably near afternoon I will be in Amsterdam!!! cortada told me that we will be all staying at the same hotel too...:)
Hi Ned_89, I will already be in Amsterdam on the 17th and I also have the AC on the 18-19, so I'm in for that Heineken before the big day :). Who else wants to join?
Hi everyone! Well done for reaching the AC in Amsterdam. I will also be attending the Assessment Centre on the 18-19 of June. Is anybody else arriving on the 17th? If so we can meet up and go for a Heineken:)
Thank so much for your reply alex123 ;) @blonde007: That would be so kind of you, it would definititely help us quite a lot! Cannot wait to learn from your experience, I bet it was worth it!
Yes 1987Pablo, I just replied to their e-mail......hey blonde007, its very knind of you to share ur experience with us!!!!!!! I m looking forward to hearing from u soon!!!!! As you have already been there, you know how stressfull is for the applicants, so any help will be very much appreciated..!!!!
I'll drop a comment very soon on what would likely happen, how you guys should behave etc at the assessment centre. I was at last year's event and it was a successful and wonderful experience. I would share my experience soon. Congratulations to all who were invited. Just be aware that you made it this far, because the company believed in you. Its now for you to believe in yourself and prove you can earn the position.
Ok! You just replied to the same email address they were using when inviting you to the AC, right? Many thanks! :)
Don;t worry, u are in the second group, so maybe they will send reply later...I am at the first group, and I only received an e-mail for travel arrangements, so dont worry.....
Hi everybody! I'm a little paranoic over here...hope you could help me to calm down ;) Here's the situation...Once I got the invitation I replied to the email with the information requested but, since then (16th of May)...no replies or whatsoever :S. I was expecting a confirmation email or something like that but the lack of news stresses me a bit...Is there anyone in the same situation? Hope everything is just fine! Cheers!
Ok cortada thank you very much!!! Thats nice then!!!!!! U helped a lot!!!!!!
Hi alex!!! I have not received the pack but I know that they are going to book a hotel for us, because I told them that I could stay in a friend's house and they replied that all the candidates will stay in the same hotel! Hope this helps :)
Hello!!!!!! Did anyone got his iformation pack???? Do u know if we have to book a hotel room by ourselves or they will arrange something?????
Hey roxana.isaiu I m so glad that u made it to the AC too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wishing u good luck as well!!!!!! Dont worry cortada, it doesnt matter that they changed the date, maybe a canditate from the other group had a serious problem and u switched shifts...it doesn mean anything...
Congratulations to all of you!
I still havent heard anything so I guess I didnt go through to the AC. Does anyone know if I will get a reply even if I failed to go through?
Good luck at the AC!
Hi cortada, I am also scheduled for 18-19 but I didn't receive anything else regarding the date change. Anyway, I don't really think it's very important, it's probably just an administrative problem with the number of candidates and how they manage to fit us all in the schedule. I wouldn't worry too much
Hi all! :) I was supposed to go to the AC on the 18-19 of June, but they are asking me to go on the 25-26th of June. Did anyone receive the same petition?
Hi there, congrats to all of you! I'm attending the second round of the AC, on the 25th and 26th of June. I applied for the Supply Chain function. Is there anyone else going to Amsterdam on the same dates?
hey guys, I received the invite today as well :)). !!!! see you all in June!. can't wait. I have it on 18 and 19th of June for Finance
Hi everyone! I have the AC the 18th and 19th of June, for the Corporate Relations programme. What about you?
I got an invitatio too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heu guys at which date r u??? and for what function?? sse u there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi and congratulations!
Which function did you guys applied for? Because I havent heard anything yet, and I guess the different functions are taking different long time to go through the selection process.
Hi to everyone! I came across this forum weeks ago, after going through the face-to-face interview for the IGP on the 23rd of April. Since then I've been visiting it from time to time trying to get some recent news...And I guess it's me the one who's gonna give some to all of you! Just received an e-mail from Heineken where they informed I've been successful and invited me to the assessment center in Amsterdam! Thought you'd like to know they have already started sending these emails...Good luck to all of you! Hope you make it!
Hi Pablo! I am really happy for you! I have received an e-mail as well, saying that I have been successful and I am going to the AC in Amsterdam!! I am so happy! Good luck to everyone! And see you there Pablo!!! :)
Yes, I know...we can just wait and hope!!! Good luck to you too!!!!! Hope that both of us will pass to the AC!!!!!
alex123, I know, I'm very stressed as well, but there's nothing else we could do now. They said the end of May so it's probably going to be the same thing for you too. Good luck!
Hey roxana.isaiu I had mine near the end of April..i think it was 26 of April.....they told u by the end of Mai right??? because in my case didnt have any info.....well I think that we will receive an e-mail for sure, but maybe only the succesful candidates will receive a call......but I m not sure,,,,,pffffff its very stressful!!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone! I had the interview on the 30th of April for the Corporate Relations programme, and I didn't know when we were going to receive an answer! So, they are going to call us on the end of may? Good luck to everyone! Hope to see you in Amsterdam!
I had my face to face interview on April 24 and they said I will receive an answer at the end of May regarding the admission for the AC. Everything's moving very slowly because they have a lot of candidates and they need time. So don't worry, they will call eventually whether is a positive or a negative answer. When did you have your interview?
Did anyone have heard any news regarding the results of the interviews???????
Hi alex123, i applied for Finance, so there may be some differences in the recruitment methodology, though it shouldn't be very different for the different tracks.
mh86, thank you for the tips, I actually thought it would be something more quantitative, but I guess they save this part for the AC.
Best of luck to everybody and I hope we will all meet in June for the AC! :)
Good luck to you too, roxana.isaiu!!!! and dont worry, you just have to be yourself....competency based questions refer tou you as an individual, and how your actions and thoughts influence your performance...!!!!!! Hope to see u too in Amsterdam!! Hey post if u have ur results!!!!!!
As far as I understood it they will ask questions about different situations that you've been in. For example, describe a situation when you had to deal with .... How did you handle that? What happened etc. They do this since they believe that by looking at how you have reacted in past situation, they will get a better picture of how you will deal with new an future situations.
I have my face to face interview as well this Tuesday and I didn't receive much info either, but as far as I've heard it's going to be mostly about yourself and your compatibility with Heineken. They didn't tell me anything about competency based questions. mh86, what kind of questions do you think they are referring to?
I am having my interview on monday, and they told me that it will be competency-based questions. Has anyone else applied for the supply chain function?
Hey if u find anything send me a message too..!!!!! :D
I just came across this forum. I had the telephone interview on Monday (for the finance programme). It was all about standard questions like "Why do you wanna work for Heineken? Why exactly this function? and so on. Nothing out of the blue...
Today I just received the e-mail that I passed through the telephone interview and I am invited to the face-to-face one in 2 weeks. Maybe the ones who got through the process last year can share their experiences? Is it again about motivations and so on or more competency-based questions? Thank you a lot, guys, your help will be highly appreciated ;)
I suppose that not having heard from them yet means not passed the online test. i wish you all the best of luck!
I have my telephone interview next Tuesday... I'm so nervous! Any advice? :)
I was wondering if anybody could shed some light on the telephone interview round. Has any of you taken the test already?
I have mine on Monday
Go onto the website and have a look at the selection process. It says that They will initiate the whole Telephone interview round only from the 26th of March, Which is today!!
I think its a bit too much to expect that we all receive updates on our applications today itself when you consider that most of us only got the mail invites for the online test a couple of days after the scheduled start date!!
Hi and cogratulation for passing the online ability test. I haven't heard anything from them after making the test. I am a little bit worried. Nowomanocry have you been contacted by e-mail or else to set up a telephone interview? Thank you in advance!
I have a telephone interview on Thursday and would like to know what kind of questions to expect. Can anyone help...?
Thanks in advance...;-)
Congrats for continuing to the next step. At the top of the comments page smbd posted a linked, where is written in details what sort of questions to expect for the interview.
When have you completed the online test? I am still hoping to get a reply from them. Don't want to believe I haven't made the logic reasoning test well enough :P
Hey! the test is pretty easy with questions being primarily on Logical reasoning. I dint have much practice of late and found it ok so dont think you guys should have much problem to be honest.
hi guys! i will take the test tomorrow morning! any hints? how was it?
Hi! Did you get any reply yet? I did the test on Thursday morning as well and still no response, i'm beginning to feel a bit anxious.
I just finished mine. Went ok, though ran out of time. How did you guys do?
What field have you applied for?
I have applied for Finance and I will take the test tomorrow morning. Hope it'll be ok. how many questions were there? and was it numerical, verbal reasoning and pattern recognition? Cause in the e-mail I received it was mentioned that the test will take no more than 25 min, which is not much at all.
Hi guys, I have also applied for the graduate scheme in Amsterdam and I have to take the tests. Any useful tips? What kind of tests should I expect?
I have yet to hear from them either.
HELLO!! Just wondering, for those who applied and got past the first couple of stages -- did you have masters? or just bachelors? THANK YOU!!!!!!
Did you manage to make it through to the next round? I am yet to hear from them
I was one of the few that made it to the final assessment stage, a never-to-forget experience. We all had at least a Master's degree, but that is not to say if you don't have a strong first degree you shouldn't apply. Apply and be ready to prove your worth along the way.
I have an assessment day coming up for business systems. Could anyone kindly provide more info on the various activities taking place on the assessment day?
Is anyone applying for the Heineken IGP this year?
Would those who have previously applied be able to provide any advice for the online application? What are the key things to highlight in the CV/Cover Letter?
Guess you know who is this?
Nice one Stef.
I am completing my degree this year and I would like to take part in the Heineken scheme next year.
How did the AC go? Was it tough? Thanks and good luck!!
Flying in over for the a/c. Mine is 21 and 22. Supply Chain function. Have you all gotten your information packs? What is expected of us?
But are there 2 ACs on the 21 and 22? Because on their webpage it says 1 day AC so im not sure why they say 21-22 unless one day would be for briefing. I got a plane ticket to confirm but needed to change some things so still waiting for the final one.
cool! I'm scheduled for the 21st & 22nd as well, and wouldn't mind hanging out. No idea on the structure though, and haven't gotten any confirmation of the flight/hotel.
I'm also in for 21- 22. anyone any idea of the structure of the AC? Im for the HR function btw
They called me first and sent me an e-mail afterwards. They called me with an unknown number, so it might have been them Sans633. I am actually attending the 21 & 22nd as well, they changed the date. So I am up for hanging out as well :)
I just stumbled on this forum!
Congrats to everyone who is in the AC so far, I also got an answer on Friday and I'll be there 21& 22nd (M&S function).
@Stef85 - I would totally be in for hanging out on arrival day :) - Great idea!
Anyone else? :)
Congrats Motivated and Stef85. Just got the message that I got through as well:) I am flying over the 27th of June, anyone else attending the assessment centre 28 & 29 June?
Hello everybody! I just came across this forum.. :) good that I did! Congratulations to all who have been admitted!
E10...I will also participate to the AC on the 28&29!! :):) Which function did you apply for? Looking forward to meet you! :)
Thanks stef85! I also applied for the finance function...hopefully we'll be able to meet up!
Thanks sans633, I also hope u make it through as well...good luck!
hey, i've heard back from them and i got through to the assessment centre stage....any ideas on what to expect?
Hi! I had my second interview as well last week. Anyone got any feedback if you got through to the assessment day? I haven't heard back from them yet!
