Middle Market

The middle market refers to companies that are well established but not as large as their top level competitors. A typical middle market company will have between 100-250 employees, operate in only one country and will not be publicly traded on any stock exchange.

Middle market companies are part of a group often referred to as SMEs.

Generally speaking, large advisory businesses (including the Big 4 and some investment banks) will have middle market departments to cater for these clients.
