MBDA has around 11,000 employees based across the UK, France, Italy, Germany and the USA. In the UK, research and development is carried out at Stevenage, Hertfordshire, while software and systems engineering takes place in Filton, Bristol, and production in Lostock, Lancashire. We are committed to providing continuing professional development through accredited training, set out by professional institutes, such as IMechE, IET, Institute of Physics, and the Royal Aeronautical Society, as well as a series of development events for all new graduates who join us.

Our two-year Graduate Programme is designed for individuals who have completed or are just about to complete their degree, achieved a 2:1 or higher in Electrical Engineering, Maths, Physics or similar and who have a minimum 240 UCAS points.

As an Technical & Engineering or Operations Graduate you will follow a modular formal development programme providing you with a series of challenging placement opportunities to develop your key technical skills.

A placement will typically last about 6 months and in addition to core placements within your specialist area you will additionally be encouraged to undertake a placement outside of your ’home’ area to broaden your skills and knowledge.

We look for graduates with ambition and drive, who are capable of delivering and working as part of a large team whilst equally becoming specialists in their own field and able to work independently.

It’s a challenging environment but the various elements included in your programme will help you to succeed:

Prior to joining you will be allocated a ’buddy’ who will provide you with informal advice and guidance. On commencing employment you will attend a comprehensive 4-day induction event that explains the full scope of what we do, and allows you the opportunity to interact with your fellow new-starters. Throughout the duration of your programme a trained Mentor will offer support and provide information about MBDA, helping you build your skills and plan your career development for the future. Together with significant on-the-job training you will also undertake a range of personal development activities promoting teamwork, communication, presentation and leadership skills.
