I am not too sure about Tesco's but I have done a number of Management telephone interviews and luckily I was successfully in most of them. Telephone interviews are much easier than the panel or face to face ones. My suggested approach is to: first collect information about the company, you can do that by visiting their website and other Internet sites like Wikipedia. This will help you answering the very common question of "What do you know about our company?" Since it is a management position you have applied for, most of the questions will be competencies based like: 1. Tell me about a time when you dealt with an angry or difficult customer 2. Tell me about a time when you wowed a customer 3. Tell me about a time when you improved a bad performace These type of questions tend to repeat themselves, what I suggest, get your self a book from your local library, there are plenty of very good titles, I have used one from the Dummies series. you can also search the Internet, just search for "answering competencies based questions". One more thing before I let you get on with your preparation, about answering these kind of questions, it is more effective to describe the situation first, the solution second and the outcome i.e result last. Good luck

I have my telephone interview for the Tesco Retail Managment Graduate scheme on Fri 6 Feb - slightly concerned about what I am going to be asked esp with regards to questions based on demonstarting leadership .
Any one have any hints or know what sort of questions will be asked?
