Google employs graduates for a range of positions.
Hey mate,
I applied for Advertising Operations Associate programme. I received an email confirming the submission of my CV etc.
I then got an email a few weeks later from one of their recruiters asking me to provide some more information. I sent off all this information; the answers totalled just over 1000 words which is not as long as many of the submissions I have made to other companies. I then got an email within the hour asking to set up a phone interview for this Friday which is only 3 days away!
Has anyone else reached this stage for this programme of similar? I'd really like a heads up before I have the interview as I read all over the web that Google phone interviews are tricky. Am I really going to have to work out how many golf balls would fit in a school bus?
Hi henmanialadzclub,
How did the telephone interview go? I've just received an e-mail asking for more information.
ITgrad
Hi guys,
how did it go, have my phone interview coming up soon. For which locations did you apply for?
Hi Nanu25,
My interview is in a week and a half. I applied for the OMAP scheme in Dublin. What have you applied for?
ITgrad
Hello IT Grad,
I have also applied for the OMAP scheme in general and they then considered me for the Account Management position in Dublin.
Ah right, when is your telephone interview? I'm being considered for a sales role and a support role.
I already had my first one. The second one is coming up next week.
Hi,
it went all right. I have my second one tomorrow as well. How come, you have two
phone interviews tomorrow?
Because I'm being considered for two different roles I think. Is there any advice you can give? Only an hour to go! :-/
For the first phone interview by the recruiter, know your CV, explain what you have been doing till now, know their products and why you applied to Google. For the second round you will be told what to expect. My second one will be conducted today as well.
Good luck! : )
Thanks Nanu25, Good luck to you too! Just had my first one, think it was ok...2nd one is in 10 mins!
Hi guys, I've my first phone interview for the OMAP programme in half an hour, and the second straight after! How did yours go? I'm a bit nervous now, they're meant to be fairly gruelling...
Hope they went well!
Machneas,
I think mine were ok...actually had a really nice conversation with them both! Certainly seems like they both enjoyed their roles and I think its made me want to work for Google even more! So i hope i get through!
p.s. I guess you'll be having your interviews right now so hope its going well, let us know how you get on!
Nanu25, How did your 2nd interview go?
Do either of you know what the next stage is? Is it assessment centre?
Yeah my interviewers were lovely! Seemed really enthusiastic. I'm happy enough with how I did so fingers crossed for getting to the next round!
They were actually a lot easier than I had prepared for, nearly all competency-based.
I think it's on-site interviews if we're in the next round, apparently you do 4 or 5 in one day!
Really? Well done! Congrats!
I haven't heard back yet... bit worried now :/
Just got my email, I'm through to the next stage as well!
They said they'd send on the details in a later email. Did you get more info yet?
What positions you going for?
Excited to see the offices!
Well done!
Yes, it's all planned... I'm having 2 interviews on 1st feb...google have arranged and are paying for all my flights/accommodation etc which is brilliant! I'm really impressed with how they've sorted everything out!
Can't wait to see the office...the pictures look amazing! When are your interviews? I think the roles they're interviewing me for are; online sales account manager, and advertising operations associate...what about you?
Yeah had a look at the pictures, they look so good! Is the 2 interviews your last round then?
They just told me I'm through today so I don't know any more. Luckily I live here in Dublin so no need to fly out for me! Where are you coming from?
I think they're interviewing me for the same two, and inside sales. They've given me the most info on Ad operations so far so I've a feeling that's the one I'd be most likely to get if I was lucky enough to get in!
Did they say anything about the structure of the interviews? Sorry for all the questions, just curious, and I'd imagine it'll be the same process for both of us!
Yes it's the last round. They said it can take up to 6 weeks after the interview to find out though because they have to send the info on to other hiring managers in different countries...which sounds a bit scary!
I'm coming from the north of England so only a short flight away. They said the interviews would last approximately 40 mins each but I don't know anything about the structure. I really hope I do well...google looks like such an amazing place to work!
Do you know what date your interviews are yet?
How'd it go? I'd say the offices are class!
meant to wish you luck! How'd you think it went?
I'm in on Friday, fingers crossed for both of us!
hey, I found the interviews pretty tough to be honest! Not expecting to get the job which is a pity because it looks like such an amazing place to work :-(
How did you find it?
Hi all
New to the forums. First off, Congrats ITgrad. I've got an interview at Google Dublin next week and I was just wondering how things were for you. what sort of format did the interviews take?
Cheers and congrats again
Whoop I'm through the interviews as well! Just sent off my pack there.
I wonder how close we are? Surely we're practically there at this stage?
Hello Y'all,
I'm really stuck and confused at the moment. I don't know what to do with my life. I'm afraid of closing one door permanently if I open the other.
Sincerely appreciate any advice on my dilemma (at the risk of sounding conceited)
I have the following offers and need to choose between them, please keep in mind that I am a Computer Engineering undergraduate in London, interned at Rabobank (Dutch IB in IT Infrastructure) last year and am open to anything in terms of career path.
(1) Goldman Sachs - Business Analyst Intern in their London client facing team for 10 weeks
(2) Google - Software Engineering Intern in their Zurich IT Field team for minimum of 3 months
In terms of package and benefits they both pay the same, taking into account I must relocate for Google.
Thanks heaps!
P.S : Why is life so hard? :(
Wooo!!! Just got offered the job!!
Ufmar...just go with your gut instinct. I've got the same issue now with google and IBM.
Machneas...you heard back yet?
Ah congrats!
I haven't heard back yet, but I seem to have been a few days behind you at every stage anyway so fingers are still crossed!
Who was your recruiter, out of interest?
Yes true. Good luck then! My recruiter was Sinead. She's been brilliant throughout the whole process. Can't thank her enough.
Hi there,
I have been through 2 phone interviews so far for Online Media Associate and I wanted to ask you if you were told immediately after the first round of interviews that you are going to the next phase (on-site interviews), or did it take a few days? I was told I will be informed this week, but I am a little bit worried as the last interviewer was in a hurry in talking to me and I don´t know if that is a bad sign or not.
I was hoping you could share your experience.
Thanks a lot.
I got a phone call the next day but I know tht another person on this thread got the call a week later. I think it depends on who your recruiter is. I wouldn't worry.
thanks, I appreciate your prompt reply. I have checked Google's website in the FAQ section and it says it could take between 7-10 days. I also asked an inside person and he told me it can take from 1 week to 1 month.
hopefully I am in for the next round.
cheers and thanks again
Just got my phonecall there, got the job too! Woohoo! Starting in September, can't wait!
got the call yesterday, I am going for on-site interviews:) anybody else at this stage ?

Have the telephone interview, for same position, on Wednesday anybody got any tips?
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me, I recently applied for a Human Resources Intern based in Dublin, just been emailed this morning for a phone interview and so just wanted to know if you have any tips or advice on how to prepare for this interview and what sort of questions do they ask? Are they competency based or more about the company, or both? Any information would be really appreciated as I am PANICING ! x
Hi Julia11
Hope your interviews went well. I applied for the same position but another country. I was wandering if you can brief me with how the second interview with the manager goes? ( i mean except for CV data what else are they interested in? ) I didnt get any instructions yet on this intervieww...I'd really appreciate any hints and tips. Thanks alot and good luck with everything!!
Hi Julia11,
How did your interview go? :)
I got the call the other day to go for my on-site interview. Could you give me any tips at all about the questions they ask? Thanks!
Hi guys!
Does anyone have any tips for the on-site interview? I have mine next week!
Thanks so much :)
Hello!
I have just applied for one of the legal assistant positions, and was wondering how long it takes for one to receive their first phone call? (that is assuming they like you and they want to interview you of course).
Thank you!
Hi all,
Got my 2nd phone interview Tuesday and then hopefully on-site interview for Advertising Operations Associate Program.
Any info on both stages will be appreciated. Really want to get this job with Google!
Thanks

Has anyone else applied for the Google grad scheme? I haven't heard anything from them...not even had a confirmatory e-mail telling me they've received my application...so I'm a bit worried I may have done something wrong :-S
