Assessment day

[Edit]

The Enterprise Rent-a-Car assessment day consists of:

Enterprise Rent-a-Car's assessment centres take place at the regional offices. The day starts at 8:45am.

Meet and greet

The assessment day starts with an introductory talk from some of the firm's management team about the company. Managers will talk about their own careers to date and their background. They will then describe the agenda for the day.

This is followed by each candidate introducing themselves to the assessors and the other candidates in their assessment group.

Company video

Candidates will be shown the firm's recruitment video which discusses the company's values, expectations and possible career paths. This video is rather americanised and general and is not particularly interesting. There will be an opportunity for questions at the end of the video. Try to ask something intelligent that relates to the video if you can.

Company presentation

The final stage of company presentation is a talk from the Enterprise Rent-a-Car recruitment team about the company's history and future goals. You will hear about what a day in the life of an Enterprise Rent-a-Car involves and discuss salaries and the prospects of promotion.

Numerical aptitude test

All candidates are asked to sit a basic GCSE level maths test during the day. This is not a particularly hard test.

Case study one

Candidates are split into small groups and will be given a typical work related problem to solve together. The task requires candidates to demonstrate teamwork and co-operation skills. When each group has finished, all problems will be reviewed by the entire candidate group.

Case study two - part one

Candidates are again split into small groups. These groups will be given 15 minutes to discuss a topic, followed by a 10 minute role play. There will then be a feedback session for five minutes.

Case study two - part two

After feedback from part one, all candidates return to their groups and continue to discuss their ideas and topic for a further 15 minutes. There is then a final role play with the firm's management team, followed by another five-minute feedback session.

Lunch

During lunch the firm's managers will collate their results and provide written feedback to the recruitment team. A decision will be made and only some of the candidates will be asked to remain for the afternoon portion of the assessment centre.

Interview

Successful candidates will have a 30 minute skills-based interview with an Enterprise Rent-a-Car area manager. This will consist of some competency based questions and some CV based discussion.

The assessment day then ends. Successful candidates will be notified within two to three days and invited to a final interview with a branch manager. Candidates not invited to this interview will be provided with feedback within 10 days.

Final interview

[Edit]

The final interview at Enterprise Rent-a-Car will be with a branch manager. You will be asked about your career aspirations and what you hope to achieve at the firm.
