Working at BDO Stoy Hayward
[Edit]
Salary
[Edit]
Graduates typically work a 35 hour week at BDO. Unlike many other firms, overtime is paid for. However, overtime is frowned upon by partners within the firm and seen as 'unnecessary' and excessive.
Changing Departments
[Edit]
Throughout the graduate scheme BDO run a SEAT programme that allows graduates to work in different areas of the business for about a month at a time. This allows them to find out about different areas of the business, that they may eventually prefer to move to work within. However, this process of transferring has been more difficult recently as a result of the economic downturn.
International Recruitment
[Edit]
BDO welcomes graduate applications from Non EU candidates who require a work permit. Work permits issued will be employer specific and will allow the candidate to work for BDO in the UK for five years. The firm's immigration lawyers will pursue a work permit application on the candidates behalf should they meet the criteria of every stage of our selection process.
Secondments
[Edit]
Many of BDO's clients are based abroad. As a consequence, there may be opportunities to travel during the graduate scheme. Upon graduation from the scheme, you will also have the opportunity to take a
secondment to one of the firm's foreign offices.
