Course Outline

The Master in European Business (MEB) is a 1-year, 2-country postgraduate programme in management aimed at recent graduates from non-business educational backgrounds. It allows our students to prepare for a successful business career by acquiring key management skills and a professional mindset in a multicultural environment.

For each of the two semesters, students are based in a different country on one of our five European campuses in London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, and Turin, or at our partner institutions in Thailand, Mexico, Russia or India. The choice of countries depends on the participant’s language skills and career ambitions. There is also the possibility to earn a double degree if certain requirements are met.

The MEB offers one intake in September with more than 35 different study tracks to choose from, including several available entirely in English.

The MEB is AMBA accredited in the category of Masters in Business and Management.

Hands-on Approach

The MEB focuses on providing students with a practical, hands-on approach. Participants undertake company consultancy projects in groups during each semester and complete the programme with a 3-month internship. This invaluable experience allows students to develop important job-seeking skills and apply acquired management knowledge and skills to a workplace reality. Amongst the hundreds of corporate partners who have recently sponsored interns are Ernst & Young, Barclays Wealth, Merrill Lynch, Cartier, Estee Lauder and Shopping.com. Each campus has a company relations team supporting students during their search.

MEB Class of 2013
Paris-London track
Before joining the Master in European Business, I studied in The Netherlands, France and Germany and graduated with a Master in Natural Language Processing. I worked for almost four years as a computational linguist and consultant in small software company in Paris before deciding I wanted to develop my managerial skills.
After extensive research, I decided to enroll on the MEB. There were three main reasons for my choice, the first being the excellent international reputation of ESCP Europe. Not only is the School currently in the top tier of several rankings, but it has been consistently for several years. This also ensured the quality of the alumni network. I have found that the network is especially helpful when searching for an internship. They are always ready to discuss career options and they help in getting in touch with their own HR departments - being introduced by a professional that those in charge of hiring trust really has added value!

Secondly, the MEB in particular is accessible to people who do not have a background in business or management, which was exactly my case. The subjects touch every aspect of management: from finance to business strategy to marketing and human resource management. The teaching approach is very practical; we learn how to apply theory by completing several team projects.

Thirdly, the opportunity to study in two different countries and to meet and work with people from different backgrounds and nationalities appealed greatly to me. We have more than 10 different nationalities in our class, which enriches this programme immensely.

As I reach the end of my year at ESCP Europe, I am redirecting my career path to web marketing. I am confident that the marketing and management classes at ESCP Europe have provided me with the skills I need to complete my previous working experience in software and information management.

Christof, Austria
MEB student
Gurgaon-London
Class of 2012
I studied at the Vienna University for Business Administration, focusing on investment banking and law. After finishing my degree I began an international trainee programme, specialising in Eastern Europe.
I joined the ESCP Europe Master in European Business in 2010, choosing the Gurgaon/London track because I specifically wanted to study in India. The opportunity to experience this kind of international exchange is incredibly valuable, especially when it incorporates a developing economy; combined with the outstanding reputation ESCP Europe has, it really sets the programme apart from the other MEBs on offer.

The international exposure is what interested me the most about the ESCP Europe programme. The different cultures of India and the UK provided incredible challenges and opportunities, giving me the skills to adapt to vastly different environments.
From a purely academic point of view, the most demanding aspect is the organisation of the many group projects. My class is very diverse and includes students from more than 15 countries, allowing me to also develop my openness for new working styles on a micro level.

I would very much recommend ESCP Europe for students looking to work in an international environment, especially those with an interest in developing economies. I plan to take my experience at the School and put it to use in an industrial context before eventually starting my own business.
