Entrepreneurship at Nottingham
We are renowned for our expertise in entrepreneurship - Nottingham was named 2008 Entrepreneurial University of the Year by the Times Higher Awards – and our MSc Entrepreneurship attracts
graduates from all backgrounds who want to develop the entrepreneurial skills that are so much in demand by employers.
MSc Entrepreneurship students get the chance to compile a business plan and work in multidisciplinary teams. Many of our students study entrepreneurship with a specific subject like chemistry, electrical engineering, crop biotechnology, or communications and spend fifty percent of their time in the school of that subject and fifty percent at the Business School.
The programme offers one of the most up to date approaches to entrepreneurship education anywhere and encourages you to apply innovative skills to a variety of settings. The Business School’s Institute for Enterprise & Innovation is extremely well connected to the business community and both MSc and MBA students benefit from exposure to a network of organisations and experienced entrepreneurs.

What our students say

“On the MSc in International Business I chose the Overseas Project module and spent three weeks in China. It was one of the highlights of the course – suddenly theory came alive, allowing me to put what I had learned into perspective. It was also fascinating to be submerged in a completely different culture and consider how my preconceptions compared to the reality.”
Emily Forster - MSc in International Business
“The MSc in Chemistry and Entrepreneurship gave me confidence and belief in myself... It gave me talking points that my employers absolutely loved such as creative problem solving skills and the understanding of innovation management. It definitely helped me get my job in R&D and opened me up to new ideas and ways of thinking.”
Victoria Shuttleworth - MSc in Chemistry and Entrepreneurship
“Without all the help the Nottingham Careers Service provided me over the year I would not have succeeded. I’m now Credit Sales Analyst with Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International plc, the UK subsidiary of a large Japanese bank.”
Luke Tiller - MSc in Finance and Investment
