A Financial Planner is a regulated and qualified expert in advising clients on the optimum management of their financial affairs. This involves detailed financial modeling and client counseling, as well as the research and recommendation of appropriate investments and financial products. The role requires a high level of investment, legal and tax knowledge, as well as an ability to conduct both quantitative and qualitative research.

Our graduate trainees are fast-tracked to becoming either financial Planners or specialists in other areas, such as investment management, research or compliance, depending on aptitude and preference.

Unlike the majority of financial services firms, we are purely fee-based and do not retain commission generated by any products that we might recommend as part of our advice. This enable us to demonstrate our objectivity and impartiality, as our income is not contingent on ‘selling’ a product.

All of our staff require excellent communication and people skills, in order to do the best we can for our clients, and innate integrity and professionalism is a must.

Training

In the first two years, you will study for the Chartered Insurance institute’s Certificate in Financial Planning , progressing to the advanced diploma and, ultimately, both Certified and Chartered Financial Planner status. Achievement of all these exams is likely to take at least five years, although you may become regulated to provide advice in your own right after a minimum of three years. Alongside, this you will have the support of a designated manager and a graduate network, so you are never on your own.
