Over 90% of our full time postgraduate students are in full time employment within six months of completing their programme – this is higher than the national average for postgraduate students from other UK universities.

Our postgraduate programmes are delivered by academics involved in innovative research. Many are also engaged in exciting consultancy projects ensuring that our degrees are kept up-to-date and secure accreditation by key professional bodies. LJMU is a technologically advanced university, offering a wide variety of well-equipped information technology suites, interactive media facilities, PCs and Apple Macs across the University campus. Our two largest Learning Resource Centres are packed with over 600 computers, giving you access to the Internet and a free email system 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Social Learning Zones have been developed in each LRC providing a ‘technology rich space’ for group learning and project work. In addition to open plan, ‘café style’ facilities, designated silent individual study space will be set aside specifically for postgraduate students and researchers. Research Support Areas which are separate from the main library floor, offer a real work environment with an open plan layout, office style desks, phones and PCs. In addition, there is a seminar room and IT suite for practising presentations and discussion groups and a ‘Quiet Professional Study Area’. A new Laptop Loan Scheme means that computers may be used by postgraduate students anywhere within the LRCs thanks to our wireless network.

Liverpool John Moores University’s new Graduate Development Centre (GDC) offers a range of services to help you gain the skills experiences and confidence you will need to succeed as professionals after you graduate. As a postgraduate student our aim is to bring you closer to the world of work. The Centre will support you in developing a variety of World of Work or ‘WoW’ skills that are valued by employers and will help you stand out from the competition. In addition to ‘Ready for Work’, LJMU has worked with senior business leaders to identify a set of higher-level World of Work skills to give you an even greater competitive edge.
