The ACA qualification
If you want a career that is varied, interesting and gives you responsibility from day one, then the ACA from ICAEW is for you. It is recognised around the world as a premium professional qualification and is respected across all industry sectors from business and finance to charities and not-for-profit organisations.
It’s challenging but rewarding and you don’t need to have maths A-level or a relevant degree to study the ACA! What you will need to do is prove to an employer that you have the drive, motivation and potential to succeed at the highest levels of business.
The ACA – what’s involved?
To study for the ACA qualification, you need to apply for a training agreement with one of ICAEW’s 2,600 authorised training employers. The training agreement typically lasts around three years and combines study with full time employment – a great way to earn while you learn! You’ll gain practical experience in a range of business areas, as well as developing your management and interpersonal skills. Training agreements ensure that ACA students achieve consistently high pass rates.
When you study for the ACA you join a global student network, with access to high quality study resources, online support and social networks to help you achieve your potential.
At the end of your training agreement you’ll become an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and be able to use the prestigious ACA letters after your name. From there, your options are endless. ICAEW Chartered Accountants are among the most successful business leaders around the globe and head up many of the world’s top international businesses.
Exams and credit for prior learning (Exemptions)
The ACA has both computer-based assessments and written exams. If you have studied a relevant degree you may be able to claim credit for prior learning (exemptions) for up to eight modules of the ACA – visit ICAEW’s CPL to find out if this applies to you.
