Enjoy a highly rewarding career in accountancy, finance and business
ICAEW Chartered Accountants have been analysing financial information and advising organisations for hundreds of years. Today, businesses of every size around the world depend on the knowledge, skills and expertise of chartered accountants to do business with confidence. Through completing the ACA qualification and gaining ‘chartered’ status, ICAEW Chartered Accountants are trusted and respected globally for their strategic business advice.
The ACA qualification
If you want a career that is varied, interesting and gives you responsibility from day one, then the ACA from ICAEW is for you. It is respected across all industry sectors - practice, business, financial services and not for profit organisations - opening the door to various career opportunities worldwide.
The ACA is challenging but rewarding and you don’t need to have maths A-level or a relevant degree! What you will need to do is prove to an employer that you have the drive, motivation and potential to succeed at the highest levels. Common academic requirements are a 2:1 or higher, 280-320 UCAS points tariff and A*-C in Maths and English at GCSE.
Did you know?
The ACA – what’s involved?
The ACA qualification provides you with in-depth understanding of accountancy, finance and business. It is the perfect choice for anyone aiming to reach the top in business.
You study for the ACA while you are working, completing exams, on-the-job learning and professional development. This is undertaken as part of an ACA training agreement with one of our 2,850+ authorised training employers. The ACA training agreement ensures that you get varied work experience; on-the-job learning and a full-time salary while you work – it’s a great way to learn and earn!
An ACA training agreement typically lasts three years, during which you’ll gain responsibility, experience and respect. ACA training agreements ensure that ACA students achieve consistently high pass rates.
When you study for the ACA you join a global student network, with access to high quality study resources, online support and social networks to help you achieve your potential.
At the end of your training agreement you’ll be invited to become an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and be able to use the prestigious ACA letters after your name. From there, your options are endless. ICAEW Chartered Accountants are among the most successful business leaders around the globe, leading many of the world’s top organisations.
