As a Graduate Software Engineer, after an initial 5 week class room based training period you will be working on critical production systems, ensuring FactSet’s financial information products are always available, fast, reliable and scalable; continually searching for improvements, solving complex issues and working on new innovative products and services.
Our teams in London work with some of the core parts of our product suite that include real time systems, messaging, content integration and analysis tools.
Software Engineers will be driving reliability, data, infrastructure and applications that are a core part of the Global Investment Market. The solutions you will find will require high levels of original thinking and creativity.
Our UK Engineering teams work on a wide variety of platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix and VMS) and in a number of core languages (C++, Java, Perl, JavaScript and C#) and thus we look to recruit not just programmers but “true” Software Engineers.

Job Responsibilities

Ongoing review of system design and architecture.

Coding for new releases, fixes and enhancements within a test driven environment.

Managing scalability, availability, efficiency and performance of our systems, databases and software services.

Software performance analysis and system tuning.
Requirements

Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related degree.

Fluency in an object orientated language (ideally C++ or Java) and familiarity with a scripting language such as Shell, Python, PHP or Perl.

Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.

Troubleshooting skills.

Willingness to handle periodic on-call duties.
