OfflineSomebody I knew from way back did TEFL; he loved it. I think he went to Poland or something. I remember he said you have to pay for the course though, but you could do the course in another country and it would be cheaper. Does anybody know roughly how much it should cost? Obviously if you're a student you don't wanna get screwed over.

I think it costs about ?1000 to the course in the UK but you can do it much cheaper if you do the course abroad.
I think you can make about ?12 an hour in the UK doing TFL. I guess that's about 3 weeks to pay off the course costs.

Strangely TEFL course costs are approx ?1000 wherever you do it. From Thailand to Spain to England. Someone is evidently on to a winner....!
?12 / hour is about right... however the working week is not really fixed. For example, during half term, Easter and summer you are a bit screwed and will need to supplement your income.
