Celcius Recruitment
Just had a phone call from Celcius Recruitment just hours after putting my CV up on totaljobs.co.uk after applying to a job totally unrelated to this company. Googled them quickly and couldn't find any reviews or information not posted by themselves.
Just wondering if anybody has heard or had any experience of them, and whether they're legit?
I was put through to 'assessment centre' - where I was presented immediately with a photocopied form to fill out, identifying at least two 'friends' and all their details. So far...not so good.
All the forms they use pre-date 2001, they are all photocopied, and their assessment centre is not as you would expect; they only put through those who a) shout the loudest, and b) are keen enough and stupid enough to want to progress.
I attended out of mild curiosity, and as I run graduate recruitment for my current firm I am very qualified to tell you this; DO NOT RESPOND TO THEM. They are legit, but if you are high calibre talent, this is not the assessment centre system for you. It is run by a bunch of jokers who don't really seem to know what they're doing.
I'm not saying this out of frustration to Celsius, but more to prevent people from you like making the mistake of giving them your time. You'd be far better investing that time in looking for a more reputable firm.
Hello I heard from Celsius a couple of weeks ago, got really excited because I haven’t had any success in finding a graduate placement. I spoke to my consultant a few times before the day, undertook a telephone interview and was led to believe I had a good chance. My consultant stated the following; That 5/15 graduates on the day generally make I through the day I stood a good chance, as long as I voiced my opinions, volunteered to be team leader, showed that I had drive, ambition, enthusiasm etc
On the day itself, we undertook several tests, and team group skills. Only 1 person out of the 15 of us made it through. I and a few others, who volunteered to be a team leader, raised our opinions, showed logic didn’t get noticed. The guy who didn’t voice his opinion, wasn’t team leader, wasn’t even sure what the day was about, got through. This was determined before they even looked at any of our tests. There was some really strong first degree candidates in the room, who should of effortlessly made it through. I’m just perplexed on why make us do tests and not even take them into account and hire the guy who doesn’t make a contribution to the day!
Some people travelled from as far as Birmingham on the day made a real effort on the day just to get sent home at 1 o clock.
I would not recommend this as a recruitment company and would not be surprised that some of the testimonials on the website are indeed forged.
I agree with all of the above comments. First impressions awful, the recruitment guys were all ignorant, arrogant and rude. We were not watched during the assessments, and only one person could speak when we explained what we did. Loudest people got through, and girls who flashed some flesh. Advice to anyone with a brain/ any self respect....DO NOT GO!
As previous comments say, Celsius is definitely one to avoid. Very unprofessional start to the morning as we were left waiting a good half an hour before anything began. The man leading the session was very arrogant, rude and generally someone who did not seem to care for comments made by members of the group, or took a very forceful and bullying tone when questioning. Also, the group task was one of those pointless 'team building' exercises that had nothing to do with sales or graduate level tasks in business, and they only seemed to pick the people who were the appointed 'leaders' of each group and those who seemed slightly 'dippy' and abit stupid. One person who got selected actually admitted she could not do the mathematics or most of the psychometric tests that we were given to complete, and even those were not actually assessed before the assessors made their pick of the bunch. Avoid at all costs if you don't want to demean yourself to Celsius' level, who basically are recruiting jobs for cold calling and overlook those who aren't willing to be gobby and loud every five seconds for attention!

Yep they're a pretty well known company. They specialise in placing graduates interested in working in sales in companies recruiting graduate level sales people. I think they offer some training too. I think they've advertised on WikiJob in the past. I saw one of their adverts and applied and was put through their assessments. Another similar organisation is Pareto Law (they are Celcius' main competition).
