hi rob i just completed my psychometric test yesterday for retail. how long did they take to inform u that u were successful and have got thru to the interview? also what kind of questions did they ask u in the interview. thanks in advance! and all the best to u. angel :)

@rob well i did the behavioural one, didnt have any link/ or any numerical test after that one. Yea i guess ur right, probably theyre busy right now. keeping my fingers crossed :) U too good luck, and once again thanks!

I believe that there will be a group exercise, interview, case study exercise - with possible presentation or role play discussion with a senior manager

Hey, I got my ac date through 16th of may in Edinburgh! Bit of a nightmare as it's days before my finals start and so far away! Rob if you don't mind me asking am I correct in thinking the format of the day is group exercise, presentation, financial appraisal and interview? ( I'm applying for uk retail leadership!)

For all of you who have a AC coming up for Retail I have just found out from someone who has already been offered a place that there was no SHL numerical test because your maths skills are kind of tested through the ABLE test. Also the literature they sent us on the AC gives the impression that the SHL test is only part of the ability centre which we dont have to do for the retail programme.

Yes I am. I had initially booked for the 20th but changed it to 16th later on as I wanted to travel on Sunday.

from what I know there isnt much practice material available for the ABLE test and its hard to prepare for. Its useful to brush up on mental maths though.

I didnt know we had a fast track test? Its not mentioned in the info they sent us?

You won't have the fast track exercise just financial able test, as has been said you really can't prepare for ABLE you just need basic maths (addition/division/multiplication) you won't have a calculator though so maybe brushing up on mental maths a little may help

I don't know if I know much more than you do. From what I understand the individual meeting will involve us working through a case study and making recommendations on it. We will then have to present our recommendations and argue our case to an assessor, we will probably have to answer their questions on it too. From what people who have already attended an AC have said I gathered that it would be about a fictional company that RBS are investing in. I guess the only thing you can do to prepare for this is make sure you know how best to approach a presentation..

The situational interview I think is very much competency based so it would be useful to list the competencies RBS are looking for e.g teamwork, leadership, dealing with a difficult colleague, and think of examples of when you have displayed these competencies.

I’m staying at the Marriot by the way. Good Luck with preparation!
