Hello Fellow Wiki users,

I am preparing for my FIRST telephone interview with Atos Origin next week. I read all the posts here and I am amazed at all the useful feedback people are getting, so here goes my questions.

Has anyone been through the Atos Origin graduate application process, if yes please let me know what the telephone interview was like..... was it cometency based ...extra

I am most worried about the question they will ask about the company itself and want to come across knowledgable.....ofcourse the Atos Origin website is my second online home after facebook.....lol...but how can i take it one step further?

thank you.

deebo452

how long have u been waiting for a interview?

sjt1122

i did the aptitude test last week, got a reply that I have cleared it in 2 days time and then today i got the invite for a tel interview,

have you done the interview, whats the current status?

looking4work

i did my aptitude test way back in jan and my telephone interview a month ago which a passed and waiting for a decision on whether am through to the assesement centre. for ur interview it the standard things; know atos origin well, know their service lines, competency question will come up also ...wen hav u lead a team etc.

I was wndering why they were taking so long to decide ...but if ur still doing ur telephone interview must mean that there are still ppl doing it ..

sjt1122

hey, thanks for the info, they still have'nt published a deadline for the closing the application process, so i guess the process is pretty much alive, so that could be one of the reasons for the delay

you could mail them at atosorigin@gradweb.co.uk or call them at 01635 584136 to know if you re curious.

velvetpigeon

Hello,

I know you attended the assessment center some time ago, can you remember what they assessed and how long it lasted? I haven't attended an assessment center before? Thank you

jagode

hey velvetpigeon,

I have my AC on the 26th Jan, technical scheme, when is yours?

BELLA

HEYYY has anyone had a telephone interview for atos origin? what competency q's do they ask??
thanks

Vish

Hey Bella,

Had mine last week, unfortunately wasn't successful. I was asked why I wanted to work for Atos? why my specific service line (Managed Operations, then why specifically why Infrastructure Professional Services)? and why a career in IT? Then the interviewer asked 3 competency questions: an example of when I have dealt with a team member not pulling their weight; an example of when I have had to adapt to a new environment and use a network of contacts; and finally give an example of a project where I had to adapt to a sudden change. It lasted 20 mins and was extremely mechanical. The interviewer also said to give her the examples in the STAR format ie. detail the Situation, Task, Actions, and Results. My advice would be to come up with some very neat and structured examples that demonstrate your abilities to adapt to change and work well in a team.

zmara

Hi,

Sorry to hear that. Found the phone interview a bit odd myself aswell, they asked me the same question twice in a row:

"Why do you want to join Atos Managed Operations?"

"What are your motivations for joining Atos Managed Operations?"

Same thing really isn't it, lol. Either way, to my surprise, despite how bad I thought the the interview went I got through to the final stage, now we'll see whether I got through to the assessment centre.

zmara

One word of advice though, make sure you are able to expand further on your example e.g. they'll ask you how you dealt with team members that weren't pulling their weight, you'd usually describe how they weren't pulling their what and how you dealt with it. Then they'll ask you something like "what do you think made them change how they act?".

Be sure you have a solid example, know it inside out and don't waffle too much. :)

BELLA

omg guyss thank u soo muich for your help and advice! it sounds a bit tough! what kind of exapmples did u guys give for the compentcys??

wish me lucj

thanks again

BELLA

HOW DO U KNOW IF U ARE SUCESSFUL AT TELEPHONE INTERVIEW??

jbz277

Hi People,

How soon should you hear from the recruitment team at Atos regarding dates for the assessment day if you were successful at the telephone stage??

Is there anyone applying for the Finance Scheme and gotten this far?

Thanks

jgosden

I actually had my telephone interview back in November and was successful then but still haven't heard anything with regards to being chosen for assessment centre. This was for managed operations and it seems they are still processing people in the system and it take some time. Hopefully will hear back from them soon!!

jbz277

Thanks for the update Jgosden.

I was contacted today to attend an Assessment centre on 26th January - in London. I'm not overly worried about it as I have been in the situation before, can express competencies fairly well, and actually enjoy the dynamic. I was wondering if anybody who has done this last year could elaborate on the presentation? Just as some extra prep.

The day is apparently going to be a one on one interview, team excercise and individual presentation. Sounds good :-)

To those waiting, I had to wait around a month before my first email telling me I was being considered after my phone interview. That interview was very standard, and is done by an outside agency, so just practice competencies, and know about the market. Sensible prep really :-)

Good luck everyone.

BELLA

hey what scheme was that for? how was the assesment centre? did you have to prepare for the presentation before hand?
good luck

jbz277

Has anyone had their assesment centre already? How did it go?

Anyone for Finance Scheme with a definite assessment date??

adj87

Service Management Scheme, it went great. I think. Don't worry about any of the day, it's a relaxed atmosphere and the personal presentation is on a project of your choice - you have 15mins to prepare it - it's 5minutes long.

Good luck.

Bella 01

Hey i got told i made it to the assesment centre for the hr scheme they are stil confirming the dates...

Please can you tell me a lil more about the day?

presentation-Can this be on any topic and do you prepare before the day or on the day? can it be on anything??

group exercise- what does this exercise involove?

interview- how long was the interview and can u remeber any questions from it?

if anyone can let me know a lil more about the day it would be much appreciated

thankssss

adj87

Bella,

The presentation is on a project of your choice and you get 5 or 6 areas to cover such as 1) brief description 2) goals 3) improvements etc etc You get 15mins to prepare it, it's only 5 minutes and is relatively simple.

Group excercise varies (we asked) but you will basically be asked as a team to make a presentation regarding an assigned project, The substance, as always isn't that important, but how you interact with the group. Leadership, comms and all the other stuff.

Individual one is dependant on your scheme, Basic competancy questions; to be honest if you can't answer them on the spot with good examples then the role really probably isnt for you - be enthusiatic and have all the basic competancies covered as prep, with good examples.

The presentation leads straight into the interview and lasts for about an hour. This is basic advice; so just enjoy it.

Bella 01

THANks for you help n advice.

With the presentation, when you say a 'project' what do you mean? and also do you present on a flip chart?

can anyone remeber the competency q's in the interview??

thanks guys goodluk

dude_dal

Yeah your individual presentation is presented on a flip chart. In terms of competency Q's, they cater the questions to you individually, that's what I found. There weren't any questions that were really different from normal competency questions, but one thing they are really looking to see is whether you're a likeable person. So as long as you can demonstrate that your not a monster and can get along with people you should be fine. You've probably heard this a million times but the best advice I can give is BE YOURSELF! They see so many people at assessment centres that they can figure those who are trying too hard and being fake and those who are relaxed and just being themselves, and the latter have a higher success rate I'm sure.

jagode

.

Bella 01

thanks for your advice will defo take it on board.

just a bit worried about the presentation, what sorts of topics do you choose? project on a anything what do you mean?

I will definatley be myself, just wanted to kow if they were testing any specific competencys that the company has on there website, in the interview??

thanks

Bella 01

anyone ????

Vish

hi everyone,

I've got a tel. iv on wednesday for Managed Operations, thanks for the info jagode. Has anyone else had a telephone interview recently and would be happy to share their experience/ competencies explored/ questions asked?

Thanks.

jbz277

Has anyone had any dates confirmed for the next Finance assessment day? I have been waiting forever and any help would be appreciated.

mr.adams

Yes Atos do seem to be taking an age organise assessment centres. If you email them about it, they simply respond with the exact same email saying you are through and they are being arranged.

They started in late January and run until April so don't worry. You still have time.

McGee

I had my finance interview the other day and got an email telling me I'd passed. It's annoying though that passing doesn't mean that you will actually get invited to the AC. It's a waiting game from here I suppose.

YenYen

Hi McGee

What questions did they ask you for the finance interview?

hopeful IM

Is anyone else having a Finance AC this week?

Mr.Lazy

hey hopeful IM, how did you feel your AC went? have you heard back from them? I was at the finance AC but i was caught off guard with my lack of knowledge of atos origin in the interview!. anyway hope yours went better than mine and good luck with the results.

louise08

I'm due to go the assessment centre very soon and I was wondering if you could tell me the sort of things they asked you, I too have never attended an assessment centre!! Thanks

speg217

Hey guys,

I'm just wondering if anyone has applied for the Atos General Healthcare Management Scheme? I'm also currently preparing for my first telephone interview and was just wondering what structure the interview takes or what should I expect in terms of questions? Any help/advice greatly appreciated,

Thanks Guys

Prince15

Hi Guys,

Any help on the Atos General Healthcare Management Scheme interview please?

cyborg_001

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me how is Atos Origin's online test? I have one for MO and am concerned. Is it a standard numeracy, verbal n reasoning test and how hard is it and how many questions does it have esp in numerical? Any hints on how/where to practice from?

Thanks a lot.

kennykiller87

I did the test last week.

It's 30 questions, I think, and you have 3 minutes per question, which I thought was nice as it gave you a better idea of how much time you have left.

It takes quite a while, I didn't time it but maybe an hour. If it's 30 questions then you can dot he maths :P

Questions range in difficulty and in type, there are verbal, abstract and numerical. There are also easy questions, such as 'count the amount of g's in the above text'.
