Santander Telephone Interview Questions

Original Post

23 March 2012 - 11:38am

I just had my interview and had trouble finding help with the questions so I've decided to post mine here.

Motivation Questions Why financial sector? Why Santander? What markets does Santander operate in? Why corporate banking? What do you think you’ll be doing on a day to day basis?

Competency Questions Tell me a time you’ve delivered exceptional customer service? Tell me a time you’ve worked in collaboration with a team? Tell me a time where you’ve solved a problem that helped you meet your targets? Tell me a time you’ve made a decision that wasn’t popular?

If anyone has any questions just ask :)

@ roaky18, this msg might have come late, as I was just seeing it

I had my interview on the 22th of Jan, it was the same as the ones above.

however, after the interview she asked me a weird question (she said I gave her a peculiar interview and she is more than impress however can I tell her how she did?)

Well, I had to tell her she did great and can hear her clearly...she blushes and said she will get back to me about AC

I believe there is an AC on the 6th of Feb 2014

roaky, have you heard back about your interview (telephone)

Got an telephone interview tomorrow and really nervous. Need help

6 November 2013 - 8:55pm

thanks

5 November 2013 - 11:17am

the questions I was asked were; give an example of a time when you provided exceptional customer service? Of when you built a relationship with a customer? Of how you worked with a team to meet a goal? What you do at busy times to maintain high quality of work? A time when you took action to meet targets? A time I had a conflict with a work colleague and how i handled it? As well as history of Santander, products and services they provide, why Santander? Why the change in career?

These are the questions i was ask at santander interview

Best of luck to you.

5. How have you achieved a personal target.

And remember to use the STAR approach as this is what they are filling in!!

I always clearly state "The situation was...", "What I did was...", "The end result was...".

I just had the santander customer adviser telephone interview. There were NO questions asked on Santander at all. Interview lasted 17mins. She advised me that she will go quiet at times and will be writing everything I am saying. So I spoke quite slowly for her to type. Made it easier for both of us.

1. A time you provided excellent customer service.
2. A time you built a good relationship with a customer.
3. A time you worked in a team to accomplish the same goal.
4. A time you had to work accurately.

She was very nice and friendly. She also asked follow-up questions (sometimes asking me about stuff I had mentioned already.. but maybe she did not get to type it). e.g. how did you communicate when you were working in that team? or how do you think making this good relationship with the customer will help the business?

Good luck.

Salman.

I just had my telephone interview for Santander. The recruiter was very friendly. The questions were:
* Tell me an example of the time you gave a very good customer service to a customer.
* Give an example or tell me how you build a good relationship with customers.
* Give an example or situation were you worked with a team to achieve a target.
* Tell me about a challenging task you had and how did you achieve it.
* If you a having a very busy day, how can you still make sure you are processing the operations/transactions properly?

From these questions I believe they want to know if your skills are aligned with the role and their values.

Just had the telephone interview for customer service adviser role.
5 competency based questions asked:
1)A time when you delivered excellent customer service
2)What have you done to achieve personal targets
3)A time when you've built a good relationship with a customer
4) Describe a time when you have had to be accurate
5) Working as part of a team to achieve a common goal

I couldn't remember the exact questions but these were the five areas covered in my interview. The interviewer also asked probing questions to get more detail.

19 March 2013 - 9:05am

Just completed a telephone interview for Advisor in Santander - just 1 competency based question on "tell me a time when you have had to complete a challenging task" "what did you do differently to anyone else" "what feedback did you get" "what would you do differently".

Role play - you had to pretend to be a call centre person answering queries on why the customer was left in a q, internet banking was down and interest rates on her current account and whether the account she had was the right one and recommend the correct one. Mortgate query (all info is provided in a brief so you have to read up on everything they send you).

They gave me immediate feedback (yes) and that I was invited to an assessment centre.

Quite a lengthy process considering the job is very low paid!

16 March 2013 - 12:31am

it seems the situation is the same as the previous year, and i guess it will ne more or less clear on May and june, when they will make final dates and offers.

15 March 2013 - 11:09pm

Got the 'Be Patient' email from Santander again...

7 March 2013 - 3:27pm

I was successful after the phone interview but I'm awaiting for the next stage which is Assessment center. I might even be invited to this though...but I'm hoping. And after this if successfle I wil get full time job not appreniceship

7 March 2013 - 10:11am

Thank you . . I just wanted to ask for apprenticeship, after the interview do they start your traning or is there other assessment ??

6 March 2013 - 11:02pm

Hi! seriously just read all posts in this thread! they will ask exzaactly the same. I found these site very helpful!!! Good luck!

6 March 2013 - 5:24am

6 March 2013 - 1:10am

Hi Guys, i have applied for santander customer service adviser, i got telephone interview on Thursday. Don't no what kinda questions they might ask??? NEED HELP PLZZZZ......

4 March 2013 - 12:32pm

Hi again, im applying for customer service adviser - apprenticeship program, i cant seem to find a list of resposibillitys for the job so still no sure what to put for that question.. any ideas guys

2 March 2013 - 6:55pm

It depends on department you are applying to. Once again, check what they are looking for and try to tell that in your own words. Try to show that you have gained/used these skills/abilities in your studies, work, extracurricular activities. And try to sound confident, positive and enthusiastic (I'm being captain obvious here, but everyone is telling +- same stories, so these things make the difference).

2 March 2013 - 6:32pm

Yeah thats what i was thinking of doing, just trying to put a good spin on it without is sounding cheesy or something.

im not sure how i should answer the "why should they hire me" question. should i say i believe i will be an asset to the company as i am an outgoing and friendly with customers and that providing excellent customer service is my top priority as this will retain existing and invite new customers. Does that sound good or ?

2 March 2013 - 5:10pm

I would suggest reading "About Santander" section and making something up about points that they give there. For example "Santander operates in n countries" - This provides opportunities for international career/more career opportunities and so on.

2 March 2013 - 4:28pm

Hi guys, great info on here about questions. My question is what sort of answers should we give, I have a interview in a few days and already stuck on the 1st question.. Why santander.

If you guys could give me a few pointers that would be really helpful, already nervous lol

26 February 2013 - 11:17am

Hi,CombatWombat, I applied for risk graduate programme and got similar situation here. I agreed with you that their selection progress was not well organised. To be honest, if they hold their AC in May/June, they could only get candidates without offers from other banks as most of banks closed their graduate selection process before March. This indicates they actually lose the opportunity of hiring the best.

25 February 2013 - 1:54pm

I have applied to Risk summer internship, passed the telephone interview in November and since then I have received like 4 similar emails :) I suppose Santander aren't well organised and all you can do is just wait... From reading other forums I noticed that they had assessment centres in May and early June previous year :)

20 February 2013 - 12:58pm

Hi guys, I've applied for the graduate operations programme. I had my telephone interview on the 4th of February and heard back two days later telling me I had passed. Now, 2 weeks later I have received this email:

Hello,

Once again thank you for your participation in our recruitment process.

We are in the process of arranging our Assessment Centres and we will contact you as soon as we have some further updates on your application.

Our Assessment Centres will be held between March and June.

Please be aware that due to the number of vacancies and the competition for this opportunity, we are unable to guarantee you an invite for our Assessment Centre.

Should your situation have changed and you are no longer interested in our programme, please let us know at your earliest convenience.

Kind Regards,
Santander Early in Career Recruitment Team

Had anyone else received this email or heard back regarding an AC for the operation grad programme?

14 February 2013 - 1:33am

Yeh mate, good question. At least on their website nothing concerning this matter could be found. In the telephone interview, they also asked visa status but said nothing about whether santander would renew it.

14 February 2013 - 1:06am

Does anybody now is Santander sponsoring Work permit Visa for graduate positions?

13 February 2013 - 11:00pm

HI! yes I'm in the same situation. I passed phone interview but wasn't invited for AC yet...and I think there are many other people in the same situation

13 February 2013 - 5:23pm

Hi everyone,

Just wonder if any of you have had passed the phone interview but was not invited for an AC later?

Cheers

13 February 2013 - 2:01pm

How about Risk programme? Anyone received AC invitation?

13 February 2013 - 12:15pm

Hello! I also wait for AC of they invite me or not. But they wrote that from January to June...so only God knows when it will be for or particular role..

13 February 2013 - 11:30am

Hi GeorgeG,

First of all, congrats on passing the AC. I know it was not easy.
I applied for the Retail Banking Management programme and still only got an email saying that they were finalising the AC. How long did you wait from telephone interview and the final AC? And where was the AC held?
I believe you would have to be patient for good news :)

Cheers

13 February 2013 - 9:18am

Has anyone received an offer for the corporate banking grad scheme?

10 February 2013 - 6:40pm

Does anyone have news about AC for Finance Program? I received any email i nearly January and nothing after it.

1 February 2013 - 2:13pm

louis- what division did you apply to?

31 January 2013 - 11:38am

Hi,

Just had my telephone interview. Don't know the result LOL

The questions are: Tell me a time when you had delivered exceptional customer service. The successful teamwork. Make an difficult decision. Solve a problem to meet the target.

Why Santander? Why this programme? (Very regular questions. I was expecting they would ask me about my knowledge about Santander or what I'll be expecting to do on a daily basis)

Hope these help although I know many people already mentioned them :-)

30 January 2013 - 12:17am

Thanks Louis, good luck!

29 January 2013 - 9:33pm

Assessment centres so far seem to have only been for corporate banking

29 January 2013 - 7:59pm

29 January 2013 - 1:33pm

Well done!! Louis! Congratulations!

May I know which programme/department were you applying for?

So a lady told me that I'm only under consideration if I'm invited for AC or no..

Guys do have same letter or different??????

23 January 2013 - 2:23pm

What divisions have people been applying to?

23 January 2013 - 12:35pm

Hi, Louis1990, me too, waiting for AC. Has anybody received email from them?

23 January 2013 - 9:44am

Still waiting for the date of my assessment centre

18 January 2013 - 5:59pm

Hi Jahuss

Many thanks for your info. Me as well, waiting for the finalisation date.

15 January 2013 - 5:16pm

They tell you a week before to- prepare notes on Santander, the competition etc.. You don't prepare the presentation before hand. You will prepare the presentation on the day. However, you will be able to bring the pre-prepared notes into the AC for your presentation on the day. ( Easy stuff right?)

Also- look at Santander's website. Also look at all of SANTANDER UK'S annual reports. 2011. Also look at their interim reports for the last quarter and their mid year interim report. This will give you a better view than 2011, as it is more up to date.

At my AC in early JAN, there was a scheduled numerical test. However, as we were running late, we did not do it. So be prepared if there is one.

15 January 2013 - 4:11pm

Hi,

Just had my interview. The qustions are identical with those already mentioned:

Why Santander, What do you know about Santander, Why this business division, What do you think your day to day job will be?

Tell me about a time of exceptional customer service, teamwork, important decision, work to meet a target.

15 January 2013 - 1:24pm

I haven't had an assessment centre, still waiting for date to be set for my particular role. I wouldn't think you would have time to do a ppt presentation as you don't know your topic till about 30-40mins before you deliver it. May just be that you use a flip-chart

15 January 2013 - 12:31pm

@jahuss
Hi mate, for the presentation part, was it done on a PPT or just a piece of paper?
Many thanks

14 January 2013 - 9:36pm

Hello Jahuss!
Thank you very much for recommendations! I think I will buy to try...thinking bt still didn't buy yet) wait for salary)

14 January 2013 - 5:24pm

Yep, that's why I asked the question lol.

Well, i'll just have to wait and see.

Good Luck all.

14 January 2013 - 1:28pm

@Olga12

depends on your own confidence in doing numerical tests. If you think you are weak at them then may well be worth buying some as don't want to get this far in the process only to fail at a numerical test. No sure if the wiki ones are the best ones available though.

@GeorgeG

may depend on other AC's. Some firms conduct all AC's before giving out offers. Not sure if that's how it works at Santander

13 January 2013 - 11:24pm

Guys! Do think it's worthy to buy a programme to practice numerical tests advertised on Wiki job website? It costs 7.99?

13 January 2013 - 11:22pm

George! Congratlations!!!!!!! Good stuff!!!!

13 January 2013 - 6:20pm

I have heard back. Just wondering if they've given any firm offers yet vs telling people they've passed the AC

13 January 2013 - 5:48pm

@GeorgeG

take it you still haven't heard back?

13 January 2013 - 5:03pm

anyone who got an offer or passed the AC for Santander let me know via private message

12 January 2013 - 7:47pm

Hi,

The answer is in ten markets. Now I copy-paste from aboutsantander.co.uk

Five core markets are in emerging countries: Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Poland. They account for 48% of our profits.
Another five core markets are in developed countries: the U.K., Spain, Portugal, Germany and the U.S. They account for 52% of our profits.

To have critical mass in each of these 10 core markets allows Banco Santander to:
be efficient and competitive in the local market
consider the potential listing of the subsidiaries when this creates value to the Group
and be an active player in the consolidation of the local financial sector

10 January 2013 - 5:30pm

Hi Starrdust!

Can you tell us how was it?

9 January 2013 - 8:10pm

You should email Santander and ask them about that.

9 January 2013 - 7:06pm

@lesguy

have you applied for a grad role or internship? I'm going for ops too

9 January 2013 - 6:35pm

@GeorgeG,

Hi George, I just wonder what documents you brought with you on the AC?

As I've got lots of documents back in Asian, thought it would be good if I know which types of documents I need to prepare in advance (e.g. to get my parents sent them to me).

Cheers mate :)

9 January 2013 - 4:07pm

@toms: i got the same email just now. I applied for Ops grad scheme.

9 January 2013 - 10:21am

Has anybody applied for the Satander marketing grad scheme? I am currently on hold for an assessment centre invite.

8 January 2013 - 6:02pm

Hi George,

thank you very much for information yo could share! I really appreciate! I found out the quwstion for my main question!)
about other details I think you are very honest and wise not to give s any advantage, From the other poibt of you if we know about this site we did some extra efforts to find smth, But still if you think like this I think it's generous towards to other people!)

Thank you very much! you helped a lot!

8 January 2013 - 5:51pm

@GeorgeG

Did they tell you when or how quickly you can expect to hear back? Was it a mixture of candidates as in all there for different roles or were you all going for corporate banking?

8 January 2013 - 4:31pm

The numerical test was scheduled to take place. However, as we ran over, we did not do it.

Good Luck and Enjoy- Please do not message me regarding what is in the AC. I'd just be giving people an unfair advantage.

There isn't much you really can prepare on, just do your research of Santander well that's all.

8 January 2013 - 7:29am

OMG really?( strange! where are they taking us and what they will do?!)

7 January 2013 - 11:27pm

20 December 2012 - 10:28pm

I got my research via a talk that the CEO Ana Botin did at my university (Uni of Leeds) and just on the internet by googling various key words and topics and of course their website.

I didn't want to work with them as their graduate programme is fairly new and in my opinion not as developed as ones at RBS and Barclays. I didn't feel I would receive a lot of responsibility and development opportunities- the graduate recruitment officer interviewing me mentioned something about making teas! Not that I feel that is beneath me but not what I would like to hear when asking about what I might be doing. It didn't seem very structured either in terms of training and development. As a woman I didn't like that there were no female managers at the AC and there was only one other candidate who was female besides me. The intern salary for London was £250 a week (during the olympics) compared to £450 pw for barclays. These were just a few things that were off putting for me.

The just told me to research santander about a week before and we received the presentation question on the day and were given 40 mins to prepare.

20 December 2012 - 10:03pm

shame really

20 December 2012 - 10:03pm

if they did numerical tests at the AC i bet 70% of the people wouldn't get close to the same scores... possibly even 80%

20 December 2012 - 9:21pm

Dear Anisa!
thank you very much for your time!!!
and good news that no numerical tests at least you didn't have. I applied for HR and when I was reading your comment about bank stuff my head started blocking info because it ws too complicated for my humlbe brain)))kidding.
But where did you get info about the bank? only on theor website?
so you didn't want to work for them yourself after interview?and for the presentation they asked you to research at AC or before like a home work and come prepared?

thank you again!!! really!

20 December 2012 - 8:40pm

@GeorgeG

8th of Jan? When did you get an invite?

20 December 2012 - 8:20pm

I applied for corporate banking, there wasn't a numerical test again. There was a group exercise, followed by a presentation and an interview.
The group exercise was pretty straight forward, we had a number of emails and had to decide which ones were important. Although all are quite important its important to remember to put the customer first.

For the presentation we were asked to research santander before the AC. we were then given the question:
from the research you have carried out what do you see as the main challenges and opportunities facing santander uk?
what recommendations would you make to ensure santander uk can achieve its aims
1. to be the best bank for its customers
to be the best banks for its staff
to be the best bank for our shareholders.

I approached this as a SWOT exercise. Somethings I researched were santander taking on the big 4 banks in corporate banking (what i applied for), the ceo's aims to shift the lending ration from 15% business and 85% households and homebuyers to 50/50. the 318 RBS branches they were going to buy which has now fallen through, there presence in south america, there current 70/30 split between retail and business and how they want to change it to 50/50 but there in no rush as they prefer to be prudent. There also pretty bad on customer service and have been criticised for growing to fast after there abbey, alliance& leicester and bradford&bingley takeovers. Also how govt legislation is affecting them, project rainbow, BASIL, vickers report. There is lots on the internet and i would recommend reading the annual report for the UK and maybe the group.

The interview was competency based, the best thing to do is keep calm and listen to the competency they have asked for which i struggled with. If you go on target jobs i think they had a list of competencies, but generally keep in mind the customer and risk to the bank.

I remember that I had 2 interviewers for both the presentation and the interview which was a little off putting, 2 against 1. Alot of the interviewers had not been to uni and had worked there way up the company. Ask them lots of questions about what you'll be doing and there advice/experience. I found this very useful as there isnt much on their website about the role. It really provided me with an insight into the company which unfortunately showed me it wasnt for me.

Anyway hope all that helps Best of luck xxx

20 December 2012 - 6:05pm

Hi Anisa!
Can you please tell us what positon did u apply at and the main question for me if there is a numerical test aain in AC??!! Please could you share any information pkease?

20 December 2012 - 6:03pm

Hi! Yes thanks to God and this forum I passed but as everybody else said, that successfule phone interview doesn't guarantee AC. But at least you have a hope...So will c. They told AC will start in Jan but still since 7 of December I didn't have any news.

20 December 2012 - 4:04pm

Yeyy..been successful in telephone interview..AC in January

20 December 2012 - 2:27pm

20 December 2012 - 11:06am

Hey guys got an telephonic interview coming up for an internship in Finance, are there any other questions that I should prepare for apart from those mentioned above?

Thanks in advance :)

19 December 2012 - 3:43pm

Just had my interview. I hope i did well. Had a role play as a Customer Service Advisor as well.
@Andyp
Thankyou

19 December 2012 - 1:29pm

@Sahi

The questions on this thread are for graduate programmes not customer service advisor roles so if the email states you will have a role play then you probably will.

19 December 2012 - 11:48am

Thank you.
They have mailed me a document on competency and role play to prepare for the interview. So i was expecting something on role play.

I have applied for a Customer Service Advisor role.
Anyway thanks again.
fingers crossed. Should see how it goes for me.

19 December 2012 - 10:36am

Hi Sahi,

No role-play at all. Rest assured :)
All the best

19 December 2012 - 10:36am

Hi all,

Just had my phone interview. First part was about competency-based, and all questions were the same as mentioned in this thread. So thank you all in sharing those info.

Second part was about motivational. I have to say this part made me uneasy as I had only been asked two questions: 1. What do you know about Santander? 2. Tell me your understanding the role you'll be doing?

I have not been asked : why finance? why the role you applied? Which I believe is more important than what I have been asked...And the duration was around only 20 minutes.

Does that mean I was too bad? (or too good :) )

19 December 2012 - 12:32am

I went for my AC on 10th April 2012, santander took over a month to let me know the outcome and in that time I got myself an internship with Barclays Corporate and rejected their offer. I am still, yes still waiting to be reimbursed for expenses which is ridiculous! Just thought I would share that with you.

18 December 2012 - 7:54pm

Hi all,

I have an interview tommorow at 15:00. Did anybody have a roleplay interview over the telephone??

17 December 2012 - 3:09pm

Hey Olga12, did you pass your phone interview? Fingers crossed for mine..

15 December 2012 - 11:55am

Hi, guys, will have my phone interview on next Wednesday.
Any updates on the interview? Any new questions being asked to you guys?
Cheers :)

7 December 2012 - 7:07pm

Hi guys!!!! yesterday I had a telephone interview and it was really nice!!! THANK YOU very much to everybody who shared with the questions!!!! they are the same!!! without you I couldn't clear the interview. I was informed today. They said it's not a guarantee but still!!! you are great!!!!!!

6 December 2012 - 5:55pm

Dear all,

I had my telephone interview and the question were the ones posted by Anisa. They also asked me "what can you bring to the role?". After competency based questions I was asked, which learning did you get from that experience?

Good luck all!

28 November 2012 - 3:36pm
gul

Hey Wheel, questions are exactly the same as mentioned on this thread. It is one of the easiest interviews I have had. Good luck:)

28 November 2012 - 2:59pm

Had the corporate banking telephone interview. Was identical to the questions posted by Anisa at the top.

For the motivation questions ask the interviewer what exactly they mean- They asked me what I knew about the grad program. But I dug deeper and what they really wanted was what you'll be doing day to day, so try and narrow it down if possible.

They emailed me saying that I passed etc. Same info as everyone above. Says AC's start from January.

Santander have outsourced their t.interview process to a random agency, so I don't think it's as hard as other banks. Good luck.

27 November 2012 - 7:14pm

Hi guys,

I have a telephone interview coming up for the Retail Banking Management graduate programme.
Does any of you have recently have the telephone interview for this scheme?

Many thanks in advance!

26 November 2012 - 12:27pm

there are no face to face interviews until the AC just a telephone interview. For London that is.

23 November 2012 - 2:48pm

@GeorgeG

I applied for ops, already done phone interview and got through so waiting on AC news. I've sent you a msg about the markets question

23 November 2012 - 2:00pm

Can anyone shed some light on what they think Santander mean by "What markets do Santander operate in".

It's so diverse it could be anything surely?- wholesale markets, retail markets, deposit markets, loan market, FX Markets, derivative markets, credit markets, insurance markets, mortgage market, housing market, debt capital markets, equity markets SME market... I could literally go on and on...

23 November 2012 - 11:19am

AndyP- I have a telephone interview coming up for corporate banking.

What area did you apply to/ how far are you in the process?

23 November 2012 - 9:50am

Yes, I passed the telephone interview stage. But then they told me and all other people that we need to wait for the decision if we go to the final stage or not. And that the AC will be like in February or March.

23 November 2012 - 7:08am
gul

It's ok Victoria. Luckily i was asked the same standard questions mentioned on this thread. I think it went welll, let's hope for the best. Did you manage to get through to the next stage?

22 November 2012 - 9:11pm

You probably already had your interview... They came back to me after 3 days with the outcome

21 November 2012 - 3:00pm

21 November 2012 - 2:59pm

Hey Victoria, thanks for sharing your questions here. What program did you apply for? I have applied for their Telephone Banking scheme and my interview is on Thursday. Do i need to research a lot about external economic environment etc for this stage of the application process or will the interview be mostly competency based? How long does it take them to get back to you after your interview? And how long does your answers need to be? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks:)

15 October 2012 - 5:06pm

Hi guys,

just had my interview with Santnader. Cannot tell you if it was successful, because just finished it)

30 mins interview.

First part competency questions: Tell me a time you’ve delivered exceptional customer service? an example of a successful teamwork ?What was your contribution?
Give an example of when you had a challenging task but still managed to accomplish it?
Tell me about a time when you had to make an important decision ?
Skills learnt (for each example)??

Second part motivation:
Why Santander? Why Banking? What Operations ? What do you think you’ll be doing on a day to day basis?

Hope it will help

1 June 2012 - 11:33am

Just had one of those telephone interviews. And it didn't go as well as I though it will. Lol. That is considering that I did not even apply for the role, but they poached me themselves after I applied for completely different role on one of the job sites. The interviewer asked to describe: Tell me the time when you had a difficult customer and how you had to handle it. Example of effectively working as a team. Examples of when you had to work to targets. And something else I don't remember anymore. But hope that helps to those who wants to apply. I got to say I did not connect with an interviewer at all. She was little bit abrupt from the very beginning and worded the questions in such a long complicated way I left confused each time and had to ask every time what she meant and possibly because of that she was not getting any easier to talk to. And the times I was giving examples she was impatient if my answers were too long for her as she "was typing my answers up". So when I gave her short answers she was not happy again how short they were as it wasn't enough. Maybe it would help if they gave me a brief explanation how long exactly answers should be? For example: between 5-10 sentences. (?) When I was asked in the end if there is anything I want to ask I asked specifics of the branch the role was in, as all I know it is not ordinary location and what is your offer to me on this role and what products is focus on in this branch?. She could not reply to my question, she said there are far too many branches in our bank I don't know about all of them and I don't know what will you be selling. We offer between that and that and you might get offer between those numbers. You can find out about all that more on the second interview. That was said with a little frustration. (?!) I am not sure if I even want to waste my time on an interview with unclear job description and unclear pay offer of the position I personally did not apply to. (!) They need a little bit different approach when they try to poach people, as this one did not work for me. Good luck to everyone who apllied. :)

28 April 2012 - 7:44pm

NOTHING ON SANTANDER

just 4 questions on:

Good customer service team work problem solving promoting

THAT'S IT !!!!

I WAS GETTING NERVOUS.

hope i get through to the face to face interview !!

24 April 2012 - 4:34pm

@AnisaFudge

what sort of answers did you give for these questions?

I'm just researching on Santander now,

What markets does Santander operate in? Tell me a time where you’ve solved a problem that helped you meet your targets? Tell me a time you’ve made a decision that wasn’t popular?

23 April 2012 - 6:50pm

Basically the ones I have posted above. I can't really remember much else If you prepare for a wide range of competencies you should be okay- e.g. team work, communication, initiative, leadership, customer satisfaction.

23 April 2012 - 5:55pm

hi, got a telephone interview with Santander (Customer Service Advisor)
