Same here. I have a question. You guys have any idea what kind of qualifications they are looking for? Because I do not get many replies, have not been invited to any interviews, despite the fact that I am CFA Level 2, 2 yrs full-time analytical experience in asset management and finishing masters in corporate economic (in Prague, top 5 business scholl in CEE accordnig to FT.com) w/ solid to very good grades (average around 79%). Is it just the fact that I am from the Czech Republic (fluent english, lived in US, speak 3 other CEE languages, 2 of them native)?

I apologize to anyone who might find my post annoying, but I am getting little annoyed and want to know why am I so out of favor.

Got the same email. 48hrs to take it, can imagine that will force a few people out, due to the date (a lot of people away, check emails less frequently etc)

No clue about the test, not heard anything about it. I'll probably just take it this eve.

I have just taken the test... abstract reasoning... difficult to say how it was, never met similar ones at any of the graduate schemes....

its really tough to get into M&G investments. Its not about your qualifications is just how many people they take in. For the investment side, they take in as little as 5 people a year. So hopefully it turns out in your favour.

Yep, ridiculously easy. Bordering on insulting, having been spending my time preparing for an econometrics exam

I didnt like the abstract test we did before, but I assume I passed as the y sent me the num/verb reasoning, and it took them a week or 2 to send them (so I assume they are pass/fail).

I would assume so yeah. I didn't like the abstract either, not sure what they can gain from it, but I guess we passed so it's all good.

But the test isn't SHL, it's the same company that did the abstract test.

Just an example of one of the questions.....

There are three boxes weighing 5kg, 9kg and 14kg. What is the difference between the heaviest and lightest box?

Really? You're asking me to do 14-5? I mean come on, I'm 21 years old.

What a joke, I guess you need to score 95%+ to pass then, with a decent time!

It does get a little harder than that, but still easier than your standard SHL test.

The verbal is about the same difficulty as SHL to be fair.

That question there though just astounded me. Couldn't believe they asked it.

I received the invitation for the num and verbal tests too. For those who already did it, could you please share how many questions each comprises? Just to have an idea what's the time/question ratio of the tests.

Hey rivendell, I took saturday the abstract reasoning but barely finished the 8thish block (meaning answered 40 Questions) I dont remember if they were 10 or 12 blocks (5 each)

I guess it s meant to see how many u can get right but to finish it to me its just impossible or u r a genius..

Did u have available also verbal and numerical out in the lobby thingy? I read a guy waited 2/3 weeks before getting invitation to those...hope they ll let us know before..

I also received an invitation for a telephone interview last week. Assuming it will take the form of the standard competency/motivation/basic knowledge of the company interview. Any extra info would be appreciated.

Does anyone have any idea what the Assessment Centre is consisted of for the Grad Schemes at M&G? It slightly varies from company to company so I'm not sure what to expect hence don't know what to take into consideration when preparing.

Any tip would be highly appreciated!

P.S. They haven't set the dates yet but I would like to have an idea on time.

The questions were not hard, but there is a very limited time to answer all of them.

Hi Alex, yes me too for the commercial management one on Monday. Have no idea what it'll be like. If i understood well they'll be quite a lot of us there... i just hope its not all just for the commercial management one. I was hoping that some people would post their experiences here...

Not a lot of useful info indeed :) well, no idea how I am gonna prepare. I just learned on Friday that I am invited for Monday and I am flying extremely early on Monday from Italy. I guess I will see you there :) and good luck in advance :)

for the investment trainee ac which i attended there was: 3 interviews throughout the day, each with 2 people; one from the business and the other HR. one of the interviews involved questions based on your answers to the online personality questionnaire, another was an analytical one, and the third was one based on answers to an investment exercise which had to be completed prior. the exercise was done both individually, and then later as a group discussion with approx 20+ from the business observing. earlier in the day there was a presentation which each candidate had to give to approx 10 people;approx 30 min prep time. hope that helps and good luck!
