I attended the GS first round last Friday and really wanted to cry when doing the verbal test....T_T I'm sure I have no hope any more.... Hope you guys good luck!:)))

They said 1-2 weeks till they get back to us. So i would assume they will inform us how we did early next week.

Really? How do you know all offers are out? They still haven't finished their first round interview as far as I know and today they said they will give reply within next week. My interview was on last Friday.

I've got a first round on wednesday (OPS), so perhaps they're interviewing a batch, and then proceed to make decisions?

Congratulations on those getting to final round. Hope you all do well. I heard the second round would be 3 interviews, each with 2 people. They would be more technical and more stressful than the first one. It would be great if some of you can share the experience on the final round.

i asked them to hurry up (on friday evening) with the reply as i had to reply to another bank within a given time, they gave me an answer on monday (through to final round)

Really interesting, I had my 1st round two weeks ago and no word yet... Heard some rumours though that GS IBD would be really quick to inform people advancing to 2nd round. I already lost all my hope but it seems there's still some left after all (or are you guys talking just about Securities?).

Can't help but to wonder why they are taking so long, you'd think they'd like to sign people for the summer asap.

i informed them that i had an exploding offer so they knew they had to reply to me before a certain date. i got a phonecall telling me i got it this morning, but they normally do take longer anyway.

I did my first round for Finance Controller last week on Wed. There were a number of people interviewing for Finance, Operation and legal and Internal Audit with me. So i think they are still selecting ppl for Operations. A lady said they will get back in around 2 weeks. So i think there is still hope.

Can anyone of you guys who has done final rounds, please tel me what the questions are like. Are they competency based or technical question. I would really appreciate.

thanks. but if they like your application i wouldnt worry about the interviews that have started. they started processing apps in jan and theres only been around 4 (max) interviews for ops which include final rounds, so theres still recruitment going on in that div.

I think they try to reply within actually 2 days after final rounds, although they say it takes up to two weeks. at least that's the case for ops and tech summer..

up to two weeks i will say, but if you don't hear from them within a week, it's very likely gonna be a no.. I guess they try to tell you as late as possible firstly in case they do want you due to rejections from offered candidates, secondly they want you to be unsure so that you can't answer other banks that quickly..

By the way Risk Strategy - MRMA is not exclusive for Maths/Physics/EE - M-Phil/PHD students. GS is not about technical knowledge either. Thank you Patsy86. I attended two final rounds! One of them was to weeks ago and the latest on Wednesday last week. Altogether I have had 5 interviews for this role. GS phoned me on Friday evening to notify. Good luck with your application.
