Sorry there isn't much on here about it! When's your interview? It's likely to be similar to other investment banks, so do have a look around and see what others are getting asked. I'll see what I can find out in the meantime!

ali1986 i have a phone interview with Barclays Wealth this coming thursday 30th. Mine is for private banking analyst program with CFA qualification. Is it the same one for you? I reckon it might be. Guys the interview was not elaborate, it was a 15min interview. They do not follow any specific format. There were general questions like:

- Why wealth management? - why barclays? - why should we take you? - have you applied elsewhere? - how does the present situation effect our business?

and a couple of similar questions i can't recall now. Then they give you a chance to ask questions, do utilize that opportunity!

I did. My application was for Manchester. And did you see that, since last week, on the graduate recruitment website, it says all positions have been filled. That got me confused.

Hopefully they already reserved those positions for us :)

Hey, guys! I've just failed verbal reasoning, and curious, what might happen if i apply again? Obviously they won't consider my current application any more, but what might be the consequences???

I think that if you did make another it may pass because no actual person saw it i think.. just computer filtering. but if you did fail the verbal and reapplied etc then they may black list you (worse case scenario i believe) and you cant apply to that bank again.

I just think that they don't even take into account applications that failed because everything is autmatic, but there must be a data base with names etc., can this show up on the surface at some stage? because in the application I state that haven't applied before.... I just really want to work there and now feel frustrated, because believe that I can do much better on the test

If they are like most big companies then they will have a database, and it might even automatically flag up your name on the system to them. Getting a job is tough!

so it's not worth doing? I think that i've got nothing to lose, because with the current application I've already failed, what might be worse?

ANY ONE FOR AN INTERVIEW IN BARCLAYS WEALTH FOR THE 2010 GRADUATE PROGRAM?

Passed the online numerical and verbal for Barclays Wealth, application now "under consideration". Anybody have any idea what they pay on the grad scheme? Or what can you expect once you pass the 3 year grad scheme? Thanks.

The tests in themselves aren't actually that hard I think, however time is very limited - so if you're one of those people prone to mental block or panic under pressure, then def worth getting some practice in to familiarise yourself with the test format.

I practised for the numericals at efinancialcareers.com (answers and reasoning provided). For the verbals I just did the 40 question test available on wikijob twice.

campus.recruitment@barclayswealth.com is the only contact I have.

It was a while before I heard back. I submitted the application about mid August and heard back begining of this week. My application was for the internship and not the Graduate Programme though.

I've also applied to Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and a couple of others. Thanks, I'll post what was in it once I've had it for anyone who has it after me.

Anyone been to an AC with Barclays Wealth recently? If so how was the experience?

Heya just had my phone interview for the internship. It's nothing really to worry about.

They ask you why barclays, what does a wealth manager do, what do you do in the graduate programme (look it up on the website), what do you do and expect from the internship, any developments that affect the wealth management industry in last 2-5 years (I spoke about new regulation now, so not exactly years ago). Then they talk through your CV basically.

They're looking for someone with a keen interest in finance, good teamwork, resourceful, attention to detail, have very good interpersonal skills to deal with clients and deal with confidential information. If you can highlight through your answers you have these skills you should be good.

So wierd, still havent heard anything from Barwealth, applied as soon as the applications opened. I know some of my friends have got rejection letters, but I havent heard anything for the past weeks. The assessment centre should be fairly soon, and leaving the country next week!
