Citi First Round Interview - Investment Banking

jungle_boogie - have you been invited?? for full-time? London?

I've got an face to face interview next wednesday, can anyone share anything about the interview and logic test? Is it just a normal competency interview?

one interview was competency and the other one was completely technical... even though both were supposed to be competency based

I have a problem. I could not find Investment Banking vacancy in London on Citi search. Did they close it?

Has anyone heard from Citi for Technology? I applied to them last month and was asked to submit further information which I did but I still have not heard from them and it still says "Application Under Review."Anyone heard anything for Technology?

hi IBD_Haunter ...could you please tell me what questions did they ask u in the technical interview..i got an interview(graduate 2010) with them next week

the technical questions completely depends on the interviewer, they dont have any particular structure to it. But mine were based on P/E ratios, DCF, Comps, precendence... etc... which is better? why? when are the better? what's the problems with them?

and what deal you read about? and I got specific questions on the deal.... I got grilled on the Cadbury/Kraft deal coz the associate interviewing me was actually working on that deal.... the other associate was working on the NatExpress deal... so got a bit on that too..... but then again, they dont have any structure for technical questions..... some people I know were even asked any technical questions at all......

i av applied for the IT graduate program.....so wot do u think about the technical intereview for this position.and my interview will be almost 3.5 hours long....did u av any presentation,group tasks etc....or just interviews.....

i think the IT recruitment is different..... dont have much idea about that... sorry mate!

Does anyone know anything about the diagrammatic test they are doing at the first round, I was told you can't prepare for them. If anyone could share any experiences that would be great.

First round interviews for technology will be held tomorrow. I had an SHL test and was unsuccesful so haven't been invited. :( Good luck to everybody who gets an interview first thing tomorrow with Citi.

i submitted 02/09/09, and got back to me last week, so took them a while.

I had the interview yesterday and got invited to final AC so will share my experiences once i have it.

the test was sandard shl, easier than others as u get 25 min to do 18 Qs....so as long u been passing others you should be fine on this one.

did they send you any rejection email after the test or if u were not invited to interview means u flunked

No they don't - they just leave your application hanging there. They don't bother sending out rejection emails. I have no idea why!

Hi there megaman1987. I have applied to Technology and been selected for first round interviews next week (19/08/09). Did you have to go through another numerical test at this interview stage?

Can I ask, how long it took you to hear from them that you have been invited for interview? I've applied quite a while ago and it's been more than 3 weeks already since the e-mail "Review by business area". Does this mean that i've been rejected?

I applied at the start of september and it wasn't until end of sep before i got invite to numerical test. But as soon as i did the test, i got the results a few hours later.

when i say test results, i mean got invited to first round interview. If you you haven't been invited yet, it might be because they have filled the next round interviews already and waiting for the next available slot....but if you failed, ppl usually get rejection email straight away

Not necessarily. Citi don't send back rejections. They just leave your status to "Online Test Completed."

megaman, i had myfirst round at citi yesterday. i think i did pretty decent. they told us they would send an email out the next day with the outcome. they havent yet got back to me today. should i worry? how soon after your first round did you get invited to AC?

Dont think you should worry just yet cos they have a lot of apps to sort through.....if your anxious to know, give them a ring...

usually at citi, if you havent heard back within 1 day, then its a rejection. but usually you hear back within 3 working days.... that's for IBD, dunno about other division.

Does anyone have HR contact details for Citi? I have applied for 'Full Time - Institutional Client Group - 2010 - London" programme on 6th October. They sent me two emails; 1st - notification of receiving application; 2nd - Thank you for your interest in Citi's Investment Banking division. We are reviewing your application and will contact you shortly to confirm if you have been selected for interview. The 2nd email was sent on the 16th and I have not heard anything since. I know they already had atleast one AC; so it is most likely my application is going nowhere. Could anyone advice me on what to do regarding this? Thank you.

Hi Aj! I'm in exactly the same situation, the difference is that it's been in September, I received the second email on the 18th. And the application is still under review. I guess in my situation it means unsuccessful and they just didn't change status. Although, I might be wrong. Anyway, good luck with yours.

What is up with CITI?

I applied to two positions in London for the EMEA Full-Time Graduate Program.

One was in the Corporate Division for Risk Management and the other in the Institutional Clients Group.

I applied on 13 September 2009, and within a month was rejected for the Risk Management Program.

My application still says Under Review for the Institutional Clients Group. It's been so long. What is going on?

I applied for capital markets origination summer internship over 2 weeks ago and nothing yet.

so it seems there arent any instant tests for citi.

what did you apply for?

Internship in investment banking at the end of the September and not a peep from them yet. Given others have mentioned doing online tests, I'm suspecting I didn't pass through the CV screening filter.

Dont they send emails of rejection then or they just keep applications hanging?
I'm getting worried now...

yes, I got the same situation, I submitted my application 3 weeks ago and took the online test, but no response up to now...
