I sent a one page, that's what I send everywhere.

You only applied three weeks ago, that's not long at all(by any standards). I applied in September and only heard back in late october.

I heard they were only offering three positions - so assume unlikely hear on here anyone who got one. They will likely not inform failures until they have three confirmed offers accepted.

Do you mind telling us how you this? And do you mean three positions across all 3 grad schemes, or just for the investment management scheme?

Got a first round interview for the Investment Operations Grad Scheme at the start of Febuary. Has anyone had their interviews yet? I've been told to prepare a presentation, and expect psycometric testing plus an interview!

Could anyone offer any advice?

Yeah, have 1st round next week, after it was postponed due to the weather. Apparently the interview is based on your CV and financial news....

I had applied in the middle of October, but still haven't heard back. I believe they responded by Post?

yeh I had an interview a few weeks back. Think it went ok, but still waiting to hear back. The interview was actually quite good. just talked through cv and a general ideas about things going on in the world.

They phoned with regards to getting the interview. We find out on Christmas eve apparently, I had my interview yesterday. Fingers crossed!

What sort of questions you get at the first interview for IT Training..? Much appreciated..

Hi, unfortunately I wasn't successful neither and couldn't make further.

In general interview was pleasant :

First I have been asked about my educational background, general questions why this and that University, why UK, why the city where I am studying at the moment.

Competency questions were around 4-5 competencies, as far as I remember :
team work, customer dealing, problem solving and learning new things.
Just prepare general competency based questions and you will be fine.
Last question was about Baillie Gifford and she just asked me to tell what I know. There is very good pdf document on their web site called "key facts...", so just read that one through it will be more then enough about the company. I asked question during my answer and then asked would she like more, but she already filled the page and said that it's more then enough.

After the interview I have been led to another room and given diagrammatic test on the paper. I guess i failed on that one. If you practiced with that kind of tests it should not be too difficult, but time constraint did not allow me to finish it all. I have been given 35 minutes to finish 40 questions. To be honest my brain slowed down after the half of it, so could not concentrate. So make sure to practice them a lot and get good speed on doing them.
