Hi,

not sure where to put this. Anyway, I've been trying to get as much info as I could regarding Warner Bros as I have an assessment date coming up for one of its placement. I got an email only stating there will be a group assessment, an individual assessment and an interview- very basic.

Anybody else got any ideas or have been successful in their application? =D

I am in the same boat as well... Any information would be extremely handy if anyone could provide it!!

Which role did you apply for Sinfear and when is your AC?

Hi

I also have an AC for Warner Bros. on monday but struggling to find any information about the structure/ content of the day. Does anybody know if we will have to complete psychometric tests on the day? All I have been told the start time and latest finishing time ... its all very vague lol!

Hi Sophie, I got this on my email from them:

'The assessment day will take the format of group and individual exercises followed by an interview.'

I'm not sure if it will be the same for you. What role did you apply for Sophie? If you could let me know what the day is like it would be massively appreciated :)

Hi jamie

My email didn't even have that just literally what time to turn up :/

I've applied for New Film Marketing Intern, what have you applied for? Yeah I will let you know how it goes ... I read from last year that people get cut at dinner time but I'm not sure if thats the case this year... hope not my train booked for 7 lol.

Oh shit. Yeah mine says that I get cut at lunch time if I don't make it through!! So you may have a day to chill in London and go sight seeing, that's my way of looking at it anyway. But I'm sure you will get through :) I've applied for the Finance Video Game Intern. But I have 3 assessment centres in 3 days next wed, thurs and fri, gonna be 3 hectic days haha

Yeah if you could give me an idea of the layout that'd be cool as I'm sure it will be different to mine in some ways but similar in others.

Oh its good that you have a few AC's though... probability and all that haha ... This is the only internship I have applied for. I find it a little strange that they didn't tell me about the midday cuts lol ... but I'm really looking forward to it anyway! Its all experience at the end of the day .. and a trip to london! ... I will let you know how it goes anyway :)

I have an assessment center with warner bros and the email is very vague. I am not sure if i would have to take psychometric tests on the day, and the fact that you get midday cuts is scary, but i am very excited though. I would appreciate any kind of information about the day and any useful tips. thanks :)

Hi Rebecca,

Unfortunately I didn't get a job offer from Warner Bros. but I did manage to make it through past the lunch stage.

First piece of advice is to try not to be too nervous - I had a period of 3 days where I had 3 assessment centres and although I was visibly nervous going into the first one, by the end of day 3 I felt like I had grown in confidence so much!

The best thing about my day at Warner Bros (I applied for the finance-video games analyst) was that it was so so relaxed. We got there in the morning and were taken into a room, asked to pair up with the person next to you for an ice breaker where we had to stand up and introduce the person we have just met to everyone (name, university, course, which warner bros character they could be if any) for the Warner Bros character (if you have it) try and think outside the box - I went for Alan from the Hangover thinking it was really original until the group before us also said it... Don't go for all of the obvious ones basically! You want to show your knowledge of the company.

From what I understand the 2nd exercise is very different for everyone - I have heard stories about being taken into a filming room and them showing you a clip of a film anbd asking who you think it should be marketed to, who the main audience is etc. But our exercise was about choosing 5 celebrities from a list of 10 to be used to market the Batman Dark Knight film and then get up and explain why (in groups of 4-5 this was). We then had lunch and everything was chilled, have a chat with some of the employees there this is the best time as it's less formal.

If you get through then all you have left is tests and an interview (assuming the day is similar to ours). As I was applying for the Finance Internship we had a Numeracy and Excel test, these were nowhere near as bad as SHL tests online so if you can practice those you should breeze the numeracy one - but I doubt you will be asked to take the Excel one. Then the interview was a panel with 3 interviewers, but as long as you do the usual things (be calm, answer the question to the person who asked it but taking glances at the others too, appear confident, smile blah blah blah) the time will fly by and it will feel more like a conversation than an interview.

Hopefully all of that helps... and Good Luck!!
