For people interested in working in the music industry, there's a site called Music Tank that has quite a lot of info on it http://www.musictank.co.uk/.
It's not the world's greatest site with respect to unbiased information, and the music industry is full of sharks trying to make a quick buck out of young hopefuls, but it is an industry where hard work and tireless promotion can pay off.
If I ever could have been a rock star, well, who would turn that down? Beats any 9-5...!

I don't think anybody really ever makes any money out of music - you have to be super-good to retire off it, and have your tunes played forever.
You do get £60 per radio play though if you are the songwriter, i.e. 10 plays = £600 without lifting a finger, not bad really.
I should point out I have a blog entitled 'How to Make It in the Music Industry' here.

I spend my days songwriting, rehearsing and the evenings performing. I thought writing about it would be nice too.
Hope this helps.
Guess that's why most of Coldplay hit the Times rich list this year. Every radio station everywhere must play them every hour.
Did they really? That's mental. I guess they do get played a lot!
If anyone can think of a band name for me that would be top. I'm riding with 'freo' at the moment, but wondering if anyone can do better.
