Yeah, graduate manufacturing engineering. Emailed them a few days ago and they got back to my yesterday saying it will take 6 - 8 weeks (between February n April) to get your assessment centre date if your successful. If you email the address they sent the psychometric test links on they'll be able to tell you whether your application is still active, under assessment or not.

Did anyone get a job in product development????

How may days/months Jaguar took to finalize the selection after the interview??

I have been invited by Jaguar Landrover to complete the SHL verbal and Numerical reasoning assessments .Could anybody tell if the format and type of questions in the full length Verbal and Numerical Reasoning Practice test in SHL site match with the questions in the real test?Also does anybody know if there is any cut off mark for Passing the real tests?

I am not sure mate about what to answer.. but i did try to explain that with an example of improvement which i spotted and took steps for it in my last company.. may be they were looking for something like EUREKA... anyways.. i didn't succeed in the first interview phase but wish you luck... i think you can reach them for the feedback on your assessment... gud luck

I have done the telephone interview, shl on line tests and the face to face interview which I was told went really well, have'nt heard anything yet been waiting 2 weeks to see if successful or not?

The SHL tests are very hard I did the Managment graded test which comprised of 3 areas, you have 3 minutes to do 4 questions, you dont get chnace to get the calculator out or read the passage in the verbal reasoning tests, just try and do one question and guess the rest. Good luck!!

I attended an assessment day last thursday, I was just wondering how long it takes for them to reply with the outcome?

As for details regarding the assessment day: Be sure to have enough examples to answer all the key aspects which they are looking for. Be prepared to be waiting around for hour and half blocks dependent upon how the scheduling goes.

I sent them an email this morning and apparently You will be contacted as soon as the outcome is available. The guy in the morning doing the tests did say it may take longer than 2 days.. But I am personally not holding out hope. But it wouldn't take that long to email us to say sorry you are not successful..

I'm not holding out much hope either but the waiting is the worst part. I really wanted to find out soon so I can decide whether to attend another assessment centre at the end of this week. So do you think they will ring everyone regardless of the outcome or do you think unsuccessful candidates will get an email? My boyfriend works in HR at JLR so he said he'd try and find out some information today, i'll let you know if I hear anything.

I just got the same email :(. I've just emailed asking for feedback so I hope they email back quickly so I can improve for the next one. Oh well at least it was experience and we did well to get that far!

Yeah feel for you guys, star87 and Greenangel10, came back from mine yesterday all i can think of is the fact that I didn't do my best, I prepared and all but it was my first assessment so dono.

I don't feel confident about it, so I guess I'll just ask for feedback when they drop the bombshell, shame I had hoped to do better and get selected...I hope I do, then again everyone always does. schedule was as mentioned in email and as most people had said here, but I messed up my technical presentation which for me was interviewed by the guy in bigger position :-(.

hey i see some of you have had recent assessment centres. i have one for the finance stream next week, would appreciate it if you guys could me an account of your experiences. im pretty nervous about it so could really do with your advice guys? how was your interview? they say there will be a role play and group excercise and re-testing too? how was it all? hard luck for not getting through but im sure each experience is a learning one and will make you more prepared and confident for the next. good luck and thanks a lot!!

Well dono if you have been told that you have a presentation if yes then I advise you to start thinking about it now....I didn't cos I assumed they would give us a topic but you have to think about yours, and yeah was quite a challenge, dont think it was a sucess.

Also for role play not down the details given ..even up to the date that is suggested. I got caught out on some details that I kind of overlooked, pay particular atention to the why you are having the role play..ie its aim.

Well the tests where done again obviously will be a like the test examples that they sent. Interview is quite detailed so you'll have to prepare / think about scenarios in your life that relate to the questions ie, when you have helped someone, when you have seen some not doing the right thing, when you have been persistent on something, etc etc

Role play is generic its all about team work and reasoning togther as a team, just hope that the group you are with realise that its not about competing with each other but working together.

thanks a lot for your advice jokasa. no they didnt mention presentation, just retesting, group excercise , role play and structured interview. were u told that you would have one? did u apply for finance? i thort there would be one but i was assuming it may have just been for engineering canditates to prepare in advance for. can you chose any topic to do it on, how long for?

is the role play linked in with the group excercise then? whats the role play actually about? thanks for your info, it rlly helps having some sort of idea of what to expect. hope you get it, u find out soon?

Ok maybe you don't have to do presentation, mine was for engineering.

No all tasks are seperate, so what you do in role play is not linked to the group exercise...most likely they'll get you another person (not an interviewee) or the assessor themselves will do the role play with you. You are given instructions and usually the preparation time is between 15-30min. It can vary. Vaguely, role play required you to recommend a decision to a senior person because your manager was called away and you had to represent him. But he doesn't tell you what to do you are left to make the decision and obviously you have to justify your decision to the senior person you are meeting....I can assume JLR know that people go to this forum and share info so don't expect it to be same...from my uni we were given a example role play and this was about meeting a client for your company and having to help meet their requirements, so it could be anything.

Just study job requirements and you might be better prepared for the role play and improvise where required.

Cheers jokasa!! do you know what a structured interview is? did you have one too? ive only done competency based. im assuming it will be similar sort of questions such as you mentioned before( give me a time when......) . does structured just mean they will make the questions exaclty the same for everyone and there will be no sub questions to the intial one or they are maybe all standardised too for every interview.

Well it said structured interview and like I said above it was loads of compentency questions. Wether or not they are different that I don't know

Something I realised is the email they didn't mention the presentation_ it mentioned the Structured Interview, Role Play, and Group Exercise, so was kind of surprised when I got there and it was on...oh well ( although this is my most wanted job)

I havent been told about a presentation :s

do they pick a topic for you, or do you present it on anything you wish to ( ie a subject you have studied or project you have done)

how long do you have for it?

How about the technical interview for the engineering, do they expect you to answer questions on structures, fluid dynamics, etc

unlucky jokasa! most people dont pass these assessment centres so dont be hard on yourself, really hard to know what they truly want and requires fair bit of luck. dont give up,ul keep getting better! ive been trying for a long time too so i know how hard this can be!

I don't understand how you lot have all heard back! I applied to Jag on the 20th of Dec!! I did the aptitude tests for them and have not heard back one thing, everytime I email them - they just respond saying it is still under consideration!

What the hell is going on ???

But to reply to chazzer15, well it took a long time too for me. Applied early Dec, didn't hear anything, emailed them in mid Jan they said still under consideration, then about 2 weeks after was asked to do test. They got back after awhile saying I had passed but, I still had to email them to ask if I was still on and they said they are still processing. however, I had info for assessment day 3-4 wks prior to the day.

From what they said they run assessemnt centres until they get the people they want, so if they don't they continue searching... best of luck
