GE aviation Edison Engineering Development Program
Hello,
I had attended telephone interview for GE aviation's EEDP last week and I am waiting for the reply. Has anyone heard back or been invited for assessment centre?
Thanks, Lakshmanan
Hi John,
The questions asked were:
- Why did u apply for GE? - What are the products developed by GE aviation (careful with this one!!) - Would you prefer a hardware / software based role? why? - What do you expect from EEDP? - What is your future career objective? - Describe your Engg project. What are the difficulties you faced? What would you modify if you were given another chance? - Which is your favourite course module and which one do you hate the most? - Explain different phases of SDLC.
By the way, I couldn't get through this round as I was bit nervous and couldn't answer the products question and expectation from EEDPquestion properly. I hope this will help you.
All the Best !!!
-Lakshmanan
Hi Lakshmanan
I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't get through.
Many thanks for your inputs.

Hello,
Had anyone been to the GE assessment centre after the phone interview?
It would be helpful if you could share your experience.
Thanks in advance, Lakshmanan
I Have been invited to the assessment center for tuesday 8th. I am also looking for any advice
- Quachett
@ Quachett: Good luck !!
I have been invited on 14th. Have you been told the agenda for tuesday?? I have been asked to expect a presentation, group task and interview. Is that the same?
Regards, Lakshmanan
Yeap the same im just looking for anyone with fore knowledge, I'll let you know how it went when i get back
@ Quachett: I hope your Assessment centre experience was okay. How were the tasks and interview? Was there any Q&A after presentation?
Thanks in advance, Lakshmanan
The experience was great, we had a great time, well i dont know if u are systems or software or hardware engineering but my guess is the assessment will be the same.
In my assessment they gave us a group project first which was about reconstructing a lego 2 winged plane and boy did we tank at tht but they were assessing how we interact as a group and how you behave. My advise would be what ever thing you are given try to get everybody to form a plan to be organised and to have a strategy of how to solve the problem. if they give you the plane then I suggest you ask for one guy to keep track of time and one to keep track of the visits you will be making to go view the prototype, suggest tht the first visit be about finding out what is behind the screen and get someone to explain it first the divide the work
after the group assesment we had lunch and a chat with the current edisons, then GE made a presentation. After tht we made our individual presentations, which was just you infront of the recruitment team.
After tht we had the two 1 on 1 interviews, well it was one candidate and 2 assessors really. I dont know which you'll do first but one of them tet you technical compitance and background and I suggest you talk a lot about projects you have done and contributions you have made. They might ask you of a brillient idea you had so i sugget you have atleast one in your pocket but make sure you do answer mechanically like you already knew they were gonna ask tht, think about it a bit. There will be some high ranking technical manager so dont lie as he will press for detils if he suspects something.
The other interview was almost the continuation of the telephone interview, it focuses on your past behaviour, your strengths and weaknesses, things you did in a leadership role, how u inspired people to do something and any difficult relationships you might have had with a coleague or something. My advise would be draw as much of your answers from your experiences as possible and for any question tht might not apply choose a suitable replacement, form I never had any difficult relatioships at work but I used an example when i had problems with a non cooperating student in a group project, it showed tht im not lying as i cant have gone through every experience in the book but i have had some experience tht are relateable.
After tht we were done and it was time to go. Sorry for the late update but i hope this will be helpful Goodluck and remember show them tht your are very technical and you like technology, make a few mention of current technologicall developments that your like preferrably those made by GE.
Good Luck Quachett
@Quachett: Thanx a lot mate!!!.... thats the most elaborate info I have ever got about the events. I Wish you good luck !!
Regards, Lakshmanan
Hey guy's I am applying for GE, not EEDP though, IMLP. I guess the selection process is pretty much the same. Can anyone tell me about the stages of it. As far as I can guess
1. application 2. online test 3. phone interview 4. assessment centre
is this right?
no one has talked about the online test. can anyone tell me about it please? I am applying soon...
Thanks, D
Hello D,
The EEDP selection process consists of:
1. Application & screening 2. Phone interview 3. Assessment centre.
No online test for EEDP. Maybe the IMLP process has online test. I am not sure of it.
Regards, Lakshmanan
Hello everybody!
I applied yesterday for EEDP, does anyone know about how much is the average salary for EEDP in UK?
Thanks to everyone!
Well... I see nobody know or have idea, I am from UK, but salaries from USA or others countries will help me to have an idea.
Regards!!
Hello Lakshmanan,
How was your assessment day with GE-Aviation? Which events did you do on the day? Did you get positive feedback after the assessment?
Why did you say earlier that you didn't pass through telephone interview?
Hi lboro99,
Well, I could not get through the telephone interview round because of two wrong answers . To the question - "What is your future career objective?" I replied I was interested in innovation and R&D was long term goal, to which the rejection mail described I was better suited for research based roles. Also, to the question about my favourite subject during my undergraduate course I answered Digital electronics is my favourite subject. They were looking for an answer closely aligned to the role - maybe like Embedded C programming or microprocessors. These were the reasons mentioned in the mail.
I had also applied for 1 year intern role for which I cleared an assessment day, but I am waiting for my security clearance decision. As you can see above, one of the forum members - Quachett - has provided an excellent description of the events on the assessment day for EEDP program. Good luck !!
Regards, Lakshmanan

I would like someone to share his/her experience for an onsite interview at ge aviation for Software Edison Engineering Development Program. On which kind of questions generally they are focusing - technical or behavioural ?
hi, I have an assessment center with them on 24th. Any tips/suggestions will be helpful on the presentation and personal interviews. thank you

Hi Lakshmanan
I too have been invited for a telephone interview for the EEDP program. It would be very helpful if you could share the type of questions asked during your interview session.
