Wondering if you could answer a couple of questions about the online test/s. Was the test a SHL test or was it done by a different company? So it was one verbal reasoning and one numerical test?

smithy22: The tests were both from SHL. It took Ford around 13 days to get back to me after I had applied. It was one numerical reasoning and the other one was a logical reasoning test, the ones were you have to find patterns and then choose the most relevant picture. I had to do the logical one first, and when I passed I had to sit the numerical.

ssyz2: I had applied for the Finance position. With regards to the tests, they weren't that bad, pretty similar to what you would find with most other companies. Im not sure where yuo could practise them, maybe SHL has some practise tests available on their website. I know kenexa have some.

is there anywhere to practice SHL test as i have a ford accounts grad test to do says inductive reasoning test - done shl tests in the past and they are so hard! anywhere where i can do tests and get answers please help!

I have just heard from Ford and I am scared for the numerical test---ekk I applied for Marketing and sales and have three days to do the test

I have to complete the Ford Psychometric tests for the Finance Stream within the next couple of days. Has anyone done them and if so what is the difficulty level, compared to other schemes? If you passed what percentage do you think you got? I know it won't make a difference but it would be nice to know what to expect!

I've done loads of these before, and my performance in them is so inconsistent. For example I stormed the Deloitte one but failed the UBS one miserably. I have also heard rumours that they mark you on the ones you answered, suggesting that if you don't know don't guess. However I have not taken notice of these and if I don't know then I make an educated guess - there's usually 2 it could be so you have about 50% chance of getting it right. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I completed my tests Monday gone... they are incredibly hard - the logical ones where you find the pattern and the next shape was much different to the ones you can practice on SHL. I would advise that as time is tight that you dont spend too much time on each one think you do 25 or so questions and about a minute to do each one!

The numerical one is killer - not because it is hard but because you have such limited time to tap the digits into the calculator! its GCSE/A Level maths but you have 25 mins to do 18 questions. it is complicated by the fact that you have to work out something which is in millions and something else in thousands and then something else in euros/yens etc.

I cant suggest what you can use to 'practice' i used samples questions on Assessment Day (they give solution and workings) and SHL (which dont give answers!

not sure about the marking on answered question - just dont seem right as if you dont attempt a question is either you dont know it or you ran out of time and spent far too much on the easier qs.

The previous Friday I received the invitation to complete the on line inductive reasoning test for the graduate programme Ford 2011. I also received one reminder yesterday and I have not completed the test yet because it is my first one and i am doing some practice at the moment. Does anyone know within how many days we need to complete the test? I was planning to do it this Friday, which means 7 days after the first invitation. Do you think it is too late? I am afraid that they are going to withdraw the invitation and i don't know what to do at the moment and how long i can delay doing the test..

I would really appreciate your help about this issue...

My understanding is that you must complete the test within 3 days of receiving the same. There are no excuses as you would have got an email and a text. I got mine at 4.01pm on Friday Last and had to do by 4pm Monday! I think due to the fact that they want to recruit without delay they may be tight with the deadline.

try your luck but i would not wait until Friday to complete - DO ASAP especially as they have sent a reminder!

Do some practice tests on Assessment Day - Free samples and solutions and SHL (no solution)

I was invited to do the psychometric tests last friday, and i did them on saturday. has anyone had any feedback from the tests yet? I'm still waiting to hear anything. I'm doing product development.

Just completed mine. Should not be too long before we recieve feedback. Found the logical thinking part quite easy but struggled with the numeracy section and could only attempt 13 out of 18 questions and probably was wrong in two or three. Im doing marketting and sales. Seeing as it has been about a week since you have done yours, I reckon it would be early next week b4 you get a reply. They must be waiting for everyone to complete the test before responding.

Took my tests last night. As expected they were difficult, thanks to all the people on here for giving me the heads up on that! The logical reasoning ones were ok - the first half you can spot and the rest you have to try and spot some sort of logical pattern taking place - I ended up guessing quite a few. The numerical one wasn't tooooooo bad. Usually the practise tests when you start are so much easier than the real test, I found it to be the opposite here. I couldn't really do the practise one, went into the real one with no hope and the next thing I knew I was 3/4 way through. There was one on exchange rates which I think I got wrong, (I always get so confused, even if it is only ratios), and the last 3 or 4 I was running out of time, so did rough calculations in my head (rounding up/down), and making educated guesses. Fingers crossed! Once again thanks for all the advice people have put on here

I applied for their finance scheme. It took them 3 weeks before inviting me for the tests. I completed them on last Friday and today they came back to me advising that i have been through to next stage which will be a telephonic interview. My interview will be on Tuesday and I will definitely update you guyz about it. In the meantime all the best for your test results and good luck to those who are still at first stage. Tests were quite easy especially the numerical one. I completed that within 19mins. However, I found couple of questions quite difficult in the logical one but at the end I managed to pass them.

Got a telephone interview on monday 8th. I did the online tests on monday just gone and only took 2 days to be given interview. Hope that helps. Also, any tips on what might come up in the interview would be greatly appreciated. Good luck evry1

Hi Stevie, glad your phone interview went ok. What kind of questions did they ask you? was it just the usual competency questions? or were there any tricky ones? Mine is coming up really soon so any help would be greatly appreciated! :) About not hearing back from them, they might just be waiting to finish all the phone interviews before deciding which candidates to take to the next round. I've also just been informed that i passed the Pschometric tests and I have a telephone interview on Monday. I'm hoping it should be ok, I'm currently on a Graduate Scheme and I'm hoping it will be a similar sort of process!

From my experience, the 20-30 minutes will fly past!

Hi guys Good to see that people have started to hear back. I did my online tests last Thursday and still haven't heard anything. Anyone had a 'no'?! Or are there people still waiting? It worries me that people found out about their telephone interview 2 days after they did the tests.... :-s I applied for Marketing, Service and Sales.

i applied for finance and the questions were just standard competency ones. As suggested about, it would appear they each applicant based on test scores, application form and phone interview within the next two weeks. if you are deemed good enough and i reckon they will look at all three parts of the selection process they will invite you to the ac. i must say it appears like a load of people have applied and got through to the phone interviews, so perhaps competition is intense.

I had my online test last thursday as well and have not heard back yet as well. When I log in to my ford account there is nothing written under the application status, its just blank. Well I think no news is good news to an extent and hopefully we'll get a reply soon. I'm also worried about the fact that other people heard back after 2 days. I am going to give them a call to find out what the progress of my application is and let you know what they tell me. Anyway good luck to the people who have heard back.

I did the tests about 2 and a half weeks ago for finance stream. I phoned hr and they said that I am "due an update" and that they will get back to me within a week to let me know whether I will be invited to a telephone interview. Maybe I have done ok but not as well as others so they're holding mine back for a while? Anyone else in my position but for finance?

Ch4rile, Yes I applied for the marketting and sales role as well..and as far as I knw, everyone here who has gotten a reply applied for the finance scheme and im interpreting that as good news for marketting applicants. I hope they do contact people if they dont get through bcuz they are a big company and should have the resources to do that. Im definately calling them first thing tommorow, but like hamster jam said, they might be holding some applications back for a while. If anyone has heard back on their aplications for the marketting positions then pls let us know. I'll let evryone knw wat they have to say when I call them tommorrow. Fingers crossed......

I did my app form last Wednesday, invited to sit tests on Friday, completed them Monday and was invited to book a telephone interview today. It all went a bit faster than I was expecting!

I'm in exactly the same position Hamster jam (I applied for finance). Did my test ages ago.....phoned up HR and they said they will let me know when they have considered my results, however others did their test after me, but got their invites for the telephone interview after a couple of days. I'm starting to think the people with higher marks will be tested first, then if there are still open vacancies once these have been tested then they may come back to us.

Just spoke to HR and they said that they are waiting for more applicants to take the test and will still be reviewing my application. They also said they would be in contact with me soon. I guess hamster jam was spot on then

Hey, just had my telephone interview. Said that I was one of the first and that they have only this week started telephone interviews so I wouldn't worry just yet about not hearing back. The telephone interview was just competency based questions (not just teamwork etc though, ones that made you pause before you answered) and the lady interviewing was very nice. Don't think I did well in it as I over explained things but couldn't really tell. Good luck to everyone!

i had my interview scheduled at 15:00 for today. didnt receive a call. when called hr was told that something has gone wrong with the booking system and same slots have been assigned to different people :) i will let u guys know about the questions they ask in interview once i hv mine, assuming that its gonna b the same for all functions

hi guys, ive just been asked to sit an inductive reasoning test with Ford for their HR graduate programme. Does this encompass diagrammatic, numeracy and verbal? I'm a bit confused as to what inductive specifically is. Do all ford grad streams sit the same tests? Thanks for the help!
