Atkins - Numerical & Verbal reasoning tests

i did atkins test both numerical and verbal. i will advice you to do a lot of practise as the practise questions are not as hard as the real ones will be. unfortunately i failed but i passes all the tests of otehr companies after that so in my opinion Atkins was the hardest. so prepare well...hope this will help

I recently attended the AU and thank fully I have been offered a position.

The interview was divided 2 parts: a competency based interview and a technical interview.

During the competency based interview the questions were more on character and job preferences and the technical more specific to the role I applied for.

There were also a number of group exercises that were required. During the group exercise you are rated on your communication skills, presentation skills, negotiating skills and bull shitting your way through skills. Like if you did not know the answer you would lie to them straight to their face and make it believable.

Remember although every company says be your self you should realize this is a lie. You want to act to what they want you to act. Be a corporate whore basically.

During the group exercise I know most people try to convince their assessors they are good at negotiating but trust me most of you say stuff that is illogical and just dig a hole for yourself. You should lie and pretend. That will give you the job.

For example during the presentation one guy at the begining after we read our objective got up from his seat and went over to the board to show his team leading skills. And I quote what he said

"Okay guys tell me how we can solve this and I will choose the best option"..

AHAHAHAHAHAHA. for real man?

Hi I was hoping you could tell me how long it was till they got back to you. Also do you know what score you got on the numerical to pass? I did mine a couple of days ago and as the above says the actual questions are harder than the practice ones.

Have u got any reply yet?? i did mine around 3 weeks ago and nothing happened so far...

They said I had successfully completed the test after I dropped them an email almost 3 weeks back now. I have again sent them an email today to let me know if my application is still being considered. I don't understand why can't they tell us one way or another instead of such a long wait.

I got their invite for test...pls what can i expect? shl, kenexa or saville?

The test is loaded...you might not be able to finish but just ensure you answer correctly every question that you attempt...two days after I took the test and thought I had flunked it, I was sent an email that I passed.

I should therefor think their 'benchmark' must have been around 50% or so.

Hi guys, i have just finished the Siemens online test, for graduate recruitment, i attempted all the questions but could not accurately solve quite a few of them..could some one pls tell me, if they know wat the cutoff for this test is???

Atkins are one of the only companies who have decent numerical tests for engineers - there are none of those typical banking questions. Its more based on geometry questions like calculating areas, than calculating exchange rates. I found the numerical questions pretty straight forward, it was more a case of answering them quickly - unlike those annoying banking questions!

The verbal i found to be slightly harder however as instead of answering true false or cannot say, youre given a number of sentences and have to select two sentences that are true to the passage.

I was also invited to take numerical & verbal reasoning tests from Atkins. I recently practiced with SHL but was not sure how real test differes from what I practiced?
Also what would be bottomline to pass??
