consulting at deloitte

consulting at deloitte

How much do you get starting salary consulting at deloitte?

Is it different from other companies?

It's about ?30k and this the same as most other companies. Deloitte is rumoured to pay slightly more than other companies, but this really applies to people who have been in the firm for many (e.g. 20) years, i.e. partners.

If you're consulting at Deloitte then you're on to something.

..I think you meant..."you're really ON something". I've got a friend that works there over twelve hours a day most days. You can't support that kind of lifestle without a big coke habit!

Haha 12 hours a day is nothing in the city. Some one would even call that 'part-time'!

That's scary. Is that true of all big 4? I thought accountants work 9-5...

you mean 5am to 9pm.

Haha yeah that sounds about right. Notice how this will cover all hours of daylight, both in summer and winter, which may in part explain the nature of accountants with several years of experience.

After some research it turns out it's quite difficult to get into consulting, not just at deloitte but anywhere. But it's easier if you go in a proper consultancy, like Accenture. There's also a lot of consultancy at IBM.

I think I will probably find myself applying elsewhere. Deloitte doesn't sound like that great a place to work either.
