I have an assesment day for Capgemini coming up soon. There doesn't seem to be a lot of information on the net or these forums about what to expect on the day, for this organisation.

Has anyone had an assesement day here? Any feedback would be appreciated.

27 October 2008 - 10:33am

i have an assessment day coming uo for the BTC programme.

I was just wondering what people thought about the briefing exercise. the pilchem casestudy seems a bit confusing, as surely all the issues that would impact future direction that capgemini may advise pilchem are all covered by the techonology and business drivers?

28 October 2008 - 9:26pm

Just wanted to know during the 20 minute briefing you have to give for the case study, is it just you talking? Because 20 mins is a looong time! I've only ever had 5-10 min presentations...

Or is it the case that during the briefing the interviewer will ask you further questions???

Plus did you give the interviewer a handout?

6 November 2008 - 4:53pm

I have an AC for Capgem coming up too. Could anyone shed light on the prepared case study exercise?

20 November 2008 - 10:52pm

hi Guys, i am going to capgemini holland for assessment, i am going for junior sap basis consultant, i do have job offer which around 34K Euros, i don't know how my job process is bit different from yours as i already had telephone and face to face interview. just bit worried about team exercise and capacity test (never heard about it). any help will be appreciated

22 November 2008 - 2:01pm

Hi there,

I have seen that the deadline for the Management Consultancy grad scheme is 1st Dec. Does anyone know when the scheme starts? I thought that Capgemini operated a rolling recruitment policy, but it seems to have changed - unless there is more than one recruitment stage throughout the year? I'd be very grateful for any information anyone may have, Cheers.

3 December 2008 - 4:52pm

I applied and have phone interview, scheme looks to start in sept 09, accenture and co recruit on a rolling basis but doesnt look like these guys do..did u apply? I found verbal tests reali difficult but apparently passed!

4 December 2008 - 12:07am

Has anyone had problems hearing back from Capgemini (UK position) after the verbal reasoning test? I sat the test about three weeks ago and have tried to contact them, but without success.

4 December 2008 - 1:18am

Well i did the test on monday 1am and by 7am they had got back to me and said they will contact re a phone interview (within 2 weeks ), bin 1 week so far. Their intial contact seems to b via HR in India who are good. Are you sure u submitted your results once u finished test?

4 December 2008 - 1:53am

Oh hey thanks for the info. Just logged onto the SHL website again and it said I had started the test. So I clicked a few times and it looked like it would start the test again, but gave me an error message that I had the wrong browser. When I closed that window, in the first window it suddenly said I had completed the test and it was submitted...Now there is no more tasks on my SHL it either submitted the test blank or my old one had been stuck in their system. Well, we will see.

4 December 2008 - 9:12am

Hi, Yeah I applied on Sunday. How long did you guys have to wait from submitting your application to sitting the tests?

8 December 2008 - 9:52am

I can't remember exactly, but I think it took them about a week. Good luck!

10 December 2008 - 6:20pm

Guys does anyone know how long does it take Capgemini to answer if someone passed the telephone interview?

10 December 2008 - 7:59pm

hey how long after the online tests did they ring u to confirm the interview? also do u have any tips regarding the telephone interview? thanks!

10 December 2008 - 8:25pm

The interview questions were the same as the ones posted in this forum for there was actually nothing that surprised me...but I had my interview on Friday and they haven't got back on me yet.......They didn't ring me immediately after I took the test...I think it was one week after I did the test....I hope these helped you...!!!!!!!!!If u have news keep us posted!!!!

18 December 2008 - 10:20pm

I had my phone interview today, so here is some feedback. (Management Consulting)

- Tell me about Capgemini (including competitors)

- A time when you were part of a team with people who had different work ethics. What did you do? - What makes a good team for you? - A time when you communicated to different audiences? How did you do that? - A time when you changed a procedure? What did you do?

- Have you applied to any other consulting companies?

I might have forgotten one or two questions they asked.

I was told that I will receive a reply in the new year. Good luck everyone!

19 December 2008 - 12:01pm

hey cheers for the above, unfortunately i had different competency q's (but looking again i guess they were asking the same as urs apart from different work ethics one) but otherwise it was similar i.e. y capgemini/consultancy, name competitors etc etc which i thought went well. BUT they asked me who their clients were and i didnt have any examples so i just mentioned a couple of the industries they operate in, would this mean automatic rejection?????

Also they said i would hear within 7 working days, so maybe just before new year.

Not gona hold my hopes up considering how competitive it is, and simply one mistake means game over, which i made.

22 December 2008 - 11:16pm

Just to clarify, Capgemini run several different schemes, in which different interview expectations and questions will be asked. Make sure you know which scheme you are applying to, and which to prepare for.

'Management consultancy' and 'Business Technology Consultancy' will be different!

31 December 2008 - 2:50pm

Anyone heard back from CapGemini Phone Interview???

31 December 2008 - 5:15pm

I haven't heard yet!!!Great New Year to everybody!!!!with lots of job offers...:p!!!!!

11 January 2009 - 2:40pm

Hey guys anyone heard back from Capgemini????They had told me that I would hear back from them by the end of 2008...but nth yet...Has anyone had an answer or does anyone know when they will get back to us????

14 January 2009 - 5:13pm

I've got a phone interview for the CDC consultancy coming up on Friday, having sent my application form in and done the verbal reasoning test way back in November, so it seems they take quite a while over it all. I guess maybe after everyone's done their phone interviews they decide who they want to get to the AC. I thought they'd forgotten about me it was so long.

14 January 2009 - 6:23pm

Oh wow...that's too long...Good luck with your interview!!!

19 January 2009 - 9:49pm

Got the CDC assessment day quite soon and was wondering if anyone can offer any advice particularly on the 20 minute case study we've been asked to present (mine's about a high-street coffee chain). Is it a formal presentation, i.e. just you presenting for 20 minutes followed by questions, with handouts/slides etc.?

20 January 2009 - 12:10am

I don't know how to help you on this....However, I suggest you to read the book by Casentino on case interview preparation...its great!!!!!Have a good luck!!!!!Can I ask yous sth though????When did CG get back to you????I had my interview on the 6th of December and still they haven't get back to me....

20 January 2009 - 12:11am

And as an indicator as to why they're taking so long to get back to people, in my last correspondence they mentioned that they can't even guarantee how many or even if they'll definitely be offering places following the assessment day!

The time between completing my application and receiving the offer of the assessment day was about 4 weeks, I applied in early November last year. They've obviously tightened up considerably and are being very, very hesitant.

20 January 2009 - 10:39am

Thank u a lot marmoset-32!!!!I hope you are the one that will get an the book before you go or have a quick look if you don't have time...I think it is really helpfull...

29 January 2009 - 4:09pm

Hi everyone,

I have a teleint tomorrow for the Management Consultancy position and was wondering if anyone knew what competency questions they are likely to ask?

Also what is the key difference between Capgemini and their competitors?

Cheers all

2 February 2009 - 5:40pm

I had a telephone interview for the CDC on 14 January, it took them over three weeks to get back to me and when they did the email said they had filled all the places in their ACs for this years recruitment, but they are always interested in good candidtaes and so are keeping my details for 6 months.

Not sure exactly how to take this, if its a rejection why do they behave this way? seriously immature.

2 February 2009 - 5:55pm

Hello, womble 31...the same happened with me...I had my interview on the 5th of January and I got the same message...Personally, I don't think its a rejection...If a canditate is unsuccessful usually receives a rejection email shortly after the interview stating clearly that he/she was unsuccessful....I guess they are having problems due to the credit was I guess another way of telling us that they don't plan to recruit any more canditates...They didn't refer anywhere in the email that we were unsuccessful with the interview...if we were they wouldn't care to keep our CVs for further reference in case the situation changes...I know it's really unprofessional for such a big company...Can u imagine??? I was waiting for them so long just to learn that they won't have any more assessment centres...Anyways...

2 February 2009 - 5:56pm

Not sure what to make of that.

I had my telephone interview the other day, so will let you know when I hear the outcome.

2 February 2009 - 5:57pm

Plus in the interview that I had with them the interviewer told me that he heard things for Capgemini that he hadn't heard I am almost sure that it wasn't a rejection....I strongly believe they have hard times due to the economic crisis....

2 February 2009 - 9:38pm

They've put back those who were due to begin in March to September (2009), i.e. those who have already been made offers, so they're definitely holding out on giving offers.

3 February 2009 - 2:59pm

well glad to see I'm not alone.

katerina, I take your point about it not necessarily being a rejection, its just so frustrating because I have had this type of response from a couple of other companies (Grant Thornton and Fujitsu) as well now.

It also leaves a particularly sour taste given that all of these companies have professed their resilience to the economic climate...I guess this is how they achieve such resilience!

3 February 2009 - 3:52pm

Alright guys,

I just got the exact same resonponse, saying that Their 2009 intake is now full. This is pretty annoying seeing as I only had the teleint on friday and they had obviously said the same thing to you guys before that had even taken place.

Im going to try and give them a bell and see if they can clear this up a little better.

3 February 2009 - 4:16pm

nice comment womble 31..haha...

12 February 2009 - 12:16pm

Who said they had pushed back those starting in March to September?

I'm starting in March and as far as i'm aware i haven't been pushed back!

13 February 2009 - 12:29pm

afrazj - the push back may be for CDC, not BTC...

2 March 2009 - 9:34pm

Hi Guys.... can someone help....please....I have the BTC Assesment centre but its named "University ReUnion" and about 2 merging firms that are not compatible...Does anyone have any feedback on this issue... Also any other information on the group work exercise?

If any one can help much appreciated.... and loads of Hugs n Kisses hehe xx

13 March 2009 - 11:14am

Hi Sarah,

I have an interview with Cap next week as a technical consultant and I've been told I will be given a case study and will need to do a role play with the interviewer. I think the case study is related to a merger and I have to write a proposal for them. I have no more information other than this.

Does anyone know what kind of case study I will be given?

I'm going for a technical consultant role.

18 May 2009 - 2:33pm

Just wondering if anyone who had been to a Capgemini assessment centre this year could tell me how long it took to hear back from them?

Thanks :)

19 May 2009 - 3:51pm

I just went throught the phone interview. they also asked me:

1. What kind of services do Capgemini provide? 2. For which industries does Capgemini work? 3. What do you think you be doing in your role?

3 June 2009 - 1:42pm

Hi Kristian,

When is/was your Assessment Day @ Capgemini? I also attended a telephonic interview on the same week, waiting for the result of this interview.

9 June 2009 - 5:32pm

Hello everyone,

I would like to share my story with regards to the BTC programme. I attended the March assessment and was successful. I first received the conditional offer late March and the unconditional in May. Everything was going by the plan. I was even contacted by my "buddy", who gave me some advices and tips.

Last Wednesday (almost a week ago) I got a call from the programme coordinator that they are cancelling all recruitment (graduate and non-graduate) for all future intakes (until further notice). I was offered a compensation of one month and the option to express my interest for the Aspire programme.

Needless to say I was shocked. I was told about that 2 days before my last day at my previous job. Not to mention all the "embarrassment" of having to tell everyone that I am jobless.

I was trying to find more online concerning this situation (tried the web and google news) but there is nothing relevant.

In anyone else in the same position with me?

10 June 2009 - 9:41am

I'm quite sure your not the only one in that position. The credit-crunch is eventually taking its toll on the I.T sector...

2 July 2009 - 9:51am

hi all i have an assessment for apprentice, but no case study to prepare

i wonder how the verbal reasoning test would be, is it based on some commercial principles or just the ones in shl website i.e work-related...

is the maths test difficult?? what level the test would be????

and the formal interview???

4 November 2009 - 9:49pm

So CapGemini opened applications for Consulting positions a few weeks ago now for the next intake, is anyone applying / heard back yet?

13 November 2009 - 10:57am

Hey all, I have a tel interview coming up and was wondering if anyone is also having one or has had one? IS it the same as last year? or is there any other questions. Thanks!!

8 December 2009 - 8:27am

Hey mohammhs, I also have a telephone interview (for the BTC scheme). However it’s been 4 weeks since I was told I would be contacted but still no one has got back to me. I emailed them and received a reply today saying that someone tried to contact me and couldn't get through. I have replied back and am hoping for someone to arrange it with me soon. I take it you have had your phone interview, how did it go? Were the questions similar to last year? Also what program did you apply for?

8 December 2009 - 10:50am

Hey Siddis,

hope ur well. Yeh ive had my tel interview and ive even been to an assessment centre. Just waitin for a reply now. I applied for the aspire programme. The tel interview was similar to last years. U need to know ur stuff about capo i.e. what they do, their competitors, wot industries they serve...etc.

Then its the usual competency based questions about teamwork, wot the future hold for IT and cap, how did you motivate a team or urself to meet a personal goal.

Hope u get your thing sorted.
