Salary range for Smith & Williamson
Hi
Does anyone know what the starting salaries are for Graduate trainees. I really would like to get an idea of what I could expect to receive. I am applying to an office outside of London.
Hi sakina and Katherynfielden i have a telphone interview coming up and im sure they are going to ask me what challenges that S & W are going to face, i have researched everywhere but cant find any info, was wondering if u could help me. Thank you
Hi Laxshia
They will probably ask you questions about what challenges businesses are facing today in general and then then what problems small businesses are facing. That is what they asked me during my telephone interview. They didn't ask me about problems or challenges facing S & W directly.
Hope this helps.
What service line have people applied for?
I applied for Investment Management
How was your telephone interview? Was it mainly competency based, or did you get asked some strange questions?
The telephone interview was mainly going through my CV, why do I want to work for S & W, general commercial awareness, what do you know of the ACA.
Those were the questions I got asked.
i also got asked what i think i will be doing in the first year....and what Salary i expect...I got asked about the CTA as that is the qualification I will be doing...with regards to S&W in the future...think about what aspects of the business might do well in the current economic climate and why.
Graduate salaries do vary from company to comany. Some offer around 21k while some offer about 30k, so depends on role really. and good luck. fiker not, you would pass it.
It also depends i think on experience you can get hired and start making more possibly if you show you know what your doing and can do the job well. Our company uses a peo to manage our salaries and it works out good.
does anyone know the salary for investment management specifically, is it higher than the other areas?
audit ranges from £19,250 in bristol to £25,250 in london. tax is slightly higher (maybe £500 more).
Although bear in mind overtime can either be paid or taken as TOIL, which is not the case at the big 4. A few hours per week can give you a 10% increase in salary.
You get 22 or 23 days holiday a year plus bank hols and you are also eligible for the pension scheme after 3 months, which S&W contribute 8% of your salary to, whilst you put in 3% of your salary.
Mileage is paid a 45p a mile, as with other firms, although expect to lift share with your colleagues wherever possible.

Hey Sakina18,
Have you had your assessment centre yet? I have mine next week...
