Saffery Champness Assessment Day

Hi,

I have an assessment day at Saffery Champness coming up in early November and am wondering if anybody has any useful tips or advice for me before I go. This will be my first assessment day and am a little unsure what to expect.

If anyone has attended Saffery Champness assessment day previously you advice would be most appreciated.

I’m trying to find further information to help me be as prepared as possible. A few questions of mine are; what happens in the group exercise? How large are the groups? What task will we be assigned? Is there a presentation? Time Limit etc?

I would be grateful for any advice with the numerical and written tests that are undertaken also.

Thank you so much.

Which office have you applied to?
I applied to the Edinburgh office last week and was asked to do the online tests pretty much the next day. I completed those at the weekend but haven't heard anything back?

I applied to the Manchester office.

The assessment day is in there London office though, not sure if this will be the same for everyone, but they do offer to cover travel costs.

They took about 10 days to get back in touch with me after completing the tests so I wouldn't too much yet.

ok no worries, hope I haven't failed them

Does anyone have any recent experience with Saffery?

what happens in the group exercise - the standard design a toy with materials etc, then market it. ie, dont just do what other people say, but dont order people, 'team' exercise....

how large are the groups - everyone whos at that assessment day, from 4-6 probably

is there a presentation? if you get past the morning session (at lunchtime theres an apprentice 'youre fired' session for the chaff) then you present on your own to 2 managers , youre given data with 1 hour to prepare. presentation and questions.

numerical/written tests - first thing you do, if you get to partner interview, they will read the written bit so make it good.

havnt heard back after a few days? why not call the recruitment dept in the london office and ask?

Hey.

I have also got an assessment day in early november. I read on this website that the numerical test is not the same as the one we have already completed, does anyone have any experience of what it is like? I would really like to improve my chances by making sure that I am prepared for these tests! :-)

Also any hints or tips for the interview in general would be much appreciated!!

Thanks

its a few questions done quickly, not tricky but dont make a silly mistake.
there are 2 interviews on the day (if you are not asked to leave at lunchtime) - usual rules apply

hi guys,

Does anyone know what the case study is on for the final interview or any of the questions that are asked in this interview with the manager (Hoping that I will get through to this stage!)? this sound quite different to anything I have been to before. I'm guessing the first one is more competency based like a standard graduate interview.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Has anyone had an assessment centre yet? I have one on 23rd November at the London office. What sort of thing do you have to do the presentation on?

wongus

Hi Plintveld,

Can i just ask whn you made your application?

plintveld

I submitted my application on October 6th

wongus

Ah right i see, i applied on 27th October. I am currently on hold for the London office, as apparently the chaff received a large number of applications.
