Mazars first round interview

I just got an interview with them for the same role two. How did your interview go? Could you give me some tips on how to prepare and what type of questions they asked please?

Sorry for late reply

Basicly the first round inetrview I had was what has been described before mostly

Short case study - newspaper article style passage, one A4 page on a topical issue with an instruction sheet. read over it and extract key points, the instruction sheet tells you what it's looking for so it's common sense really (I haven't heard if I passed yet so I'm assuming it's common sense)

Then my interviewer went over her questions with me, writing everything down (so it was hard to tell if I was talking nonsense)
After about 10 mins the interview changed to a more normal competency based interview, tell me about a time...etc
I can't remember specific q's but it was along the lines of why Mazars, why audit, why did you go to X uni, what did you get from it, why audit, dealing with change etc etc

If you have done a competency interview before you will have experience of what to expect.

I completed my online tests about one and a half week ago and have yet to hear anything! Should i be worried?

Hey! I don't think there's anything to worry about - they are EXTREMELY slow!!

Just out of interest which other firms should I be looking at for a similar role in Financial planning?? ...or any links with similar roles for young graduates??

Which office did you apply to?Was your interviewer manager as well??they seems never so effective.
I applied for most IB and got some interviews in this and next months. front office to back office role
I just am so interested about the financial planing role this is why I applied for mazars.

I applied to the London office and had a first interview with Gaye Marlow the graduate recruiter!

Mazars do seem quite cool but Ah well!!

I had a first round interview with Mazars last week and it was pretty basic. You start with a case study about school meals and the problem of childhood obesity, it requires you to provide your opinion on how to solve different problems. Following this you are asked competency questions on teamwork, leadership and problem solving. Additionally, you have to state why Mazars, why accountancy and finally why the ACA. The whole process is very simple and laid back.

The process may take longer than the big 4 but it is worth it!

Just had my assessment day. Seems much friendlier than the big 4.

Hey everyone! i had my first round interview with them last week and i really enjoyed it!

First off you are given 10mins to read an article so you can discuss it with the interviewer after. The article is really simple (it's about the increase in the number of students who don't have an adequate level of english and maths). So you start by saying what the article is about, what are the different opinions in the article, who are the stakeholders, what are the issues, what are the proposed solutions, and how I would go about implementing them. I can't stress enough how basic this is so nothing daunting there.

Now the interview for me was just a general discussion... my interviewer asked me about teamwork, why mazars, why my service line and finally what have been my achievements. So as you can see nothing too scary!

I have also been invited for first interview for financial planning, mine´s in Milton Keynes. One thing I´m not clear about is if my training will be in London or Milton Keynes. I note that your interview was in London, did they say where your training will take place? I hope it all went well.

Best of luck with the interview. They did not say anything about where the training will take place. I assume they will say that at the next interview (if we are successful) as I know they provide a talk about working at Mazars then. Sorry I can't be much help.

I had my interview last wednesday so it took them a week to reply... i've heard they're slow so i didn't get worried about that.

Hello guys, I was wondering whether if all the people that had their 1st interviews had a repsonse back on whether the made it to the AC yet?

I had an interview in their London Office nearly 3 weeks ago for chartered accountant training and still not heard anything yet, even though they said they will get back to me within a week....getting a bit worried....

if anyone has some tips for the first round interview i would appreciate it. Got mine this week.
