deloitte response

Hi Sean, I did my verbal test last night as well. Awaiting response. Am checking my inbox every 10 mins. I guess the lady who is dealing with my appl works in teh nights. She always mails me late night. So, am hoping she would respond tonight.

I presumed we can book an interview date online once we pass the online tests. Is that not the case with Deloitte?

hi googly, im not sure if we do book it online because ive passed my test but it just says 'online tests completed.' ill play the waiting game i think, but want to get an interview before i go back to uni.

Unlunky Googly. How was that verbal compared to our verbal reasoning test? Harder/easier?

Hi Red, I'd say Deloitte test was slightly easier than wiki one. But still, unfortunately I couldn't make it. Lack of concentration is my problem. For instance, when I read about UFO in a passage, I would go on imagining how an UFO looks like in the sky or any UFO movies I've seen. Do I suffer from any disease?

I thought I did well and was very confident. The mail was an absolute bad news for me...:(

Gosh...I don't know what I want in life? I don't know what I am good at? I don't know what my strengths and weaknesses are...I think I am good at everything, but still fail in small things in life....Ironically, I was awarded a gold medal for all-round performance at school - which further puts me as good at everything, best at nothing....:((

you'll be a decathlon winner as opposed to a 100m winner, often a better acomplishment. dont let it get you down too much.

Hi everyone! I completed the verbal test last night and received an email tonight which says thanks for completing the online tests. (the email did not tell if I passed) Should I treat it as a good news or a bad news?

Yep...thats an acknowledgement that you have completed the test....Wait atleast 24 hours to receive the actual results.....I am sure Deloitte makes it clear about the result...The mail would either start with.....congratulations......or we regret to inform you......hehe

When I applied to Deloitte earlier this year, I recieved a congrats email about passing the tests within a few days. It said they'd get in contact soon about arranging an interview - it was well over a month till I actually had another response (via email); I did the tests in mid-March, had my first interview mid-May.

Hi, I just finished the verbal reasoning test yesterday and received confirmation of receipt this morning but have received nothing else. I find it strange that they give you a response so quickly after the mathematical test and then take so long after the verbal reasoning one. Let us know when you guys get your responses and I'll let u know when i get mine..Fingers crossed - good luck!

I completed my verbal on Saturday, got an acknowledgment email on Sunday and an invitation for a first interview today (Monday -- need to ring someone at Deloitte) .

Hi triciclo, may I know which number did you call to inquire about the result? The person I called is on annual leave till 25th Sept, maybe that explains why the response is slow.

rs, have u heard anything from them yet?

jus finished my application to deloitte, literally. if i get anything, you'll be the first to know, blackberry switched on and waiting for the email...... wish me luck.....

Jann_ning: I didn't ring to enquire about results. I just received a few emails from Deloitte telling me I'd passed the numerical test, then a thank you email for completing both tests and yesterday an email to arrange a first interview. If you received a thank you email I just advice you to wait. I don't think it is particularly good or bad news, just an acknowledgment of their completion. I hope this helps.

EDIT: sorry..if you mean what number I need to ring... not sure if I'm supposed to give that away... it's the name and number of the person who wrote to me saying that I had passed the tests and that I should call back to arrange a first interview... so again... it's not about results.

I applied for 2008 vacancies in London and a month after completing the tests I received an email telling me I had pased the tests but vacancies in the office I had applied for had been filled. It was suggested that I could put myself forward for another office for 2008 or apply for 2009 vacancies. I replied saying that I wished to apply for a regional office and received a reply stating that the person responsible for that office would contact me. How long is it likely to be before I am contacted? I sent the email on Friday.

Give it time, if anything, try and find out whic region has a vacancy, remember, these guys have a lot of applications to go through. make their life easier and search for vacancies to see which roles you can apply for and where then tell them your preference!!

Hi Jann_ning, I just received a response from them this afternoon asking me to choose an interview slot. How about you? I'm sure they'll reply soon, you might want to give them a call and find out what the situation is but maybe someone that is more familiar with the process can advise you on whether that is a good idea or not.

I dont know how you did Jann ning, but after a reference from my 6th form tutor due to my poor a level grades deloitte have invited me to a 1st round interview!

how poor where your a levels ryan?

C,D,E with a C in general studies aswel, had some extenuating circumstances however which my 6th form tutor backed up

Hi RyanLlyod, when did u receive their response? I still have no news from them. To me, no news is good news. At least they haven't sent me an email which says that I have failed the verbal test. *touch wood* Should I call them to ask? Need you guys to give advise! thx!

I got my results the night i finished my test, then the next evening was invited for interview.

I originally applied on August 19th and after passing the online tests I received an email on 26th September stating that I would be contacted soon about the next steps but i've not yet been contacted. Is this normal?

it took them a while to get back to me, they said they were understaffed. but i rang them to push things along and they got in contact soon after. i would give them a call and see whats happening

I eventually called Deloitte today regarding my Verbal test result.

I've passed!!!!!!!!!!!

Accordingly, the number of places for the post I applied for is limited. This is why my application was on hold.

They called me later on to ask for my avaibility for interview.

If they take too long to reply at any stage you should ring them. I contacted them myself and received a call back the same day asking to arrange an interview.

I received an invitation to do the tests two days after I applied but they took a month to tell me that I passed.

Oh, submitted the online form a week ago now -- not sure how long am I going to wait or a rejection? ;S Thinking of Tax... not sure how long will it take to get back to me :S

After completing the verbal test for Deloitte Transaction Services on sunday morning, I received the following message on monday...

"There are currently a number of candidate ahead of you in the process. I need to place your application on hold for the time being. I will be able to update you on your application by 20th October."

Has anyone else had this message, and does it mean you are through to the interview stage?

You can't really prepare for case studies, but the main thing to remember is that it's the thought process that matters more than the final result. So, DO think aloud but DON'T waffle. Think of your response as being similar to "method marks" in exam papers - even though you got the wrong answer, because the method was correct you got method marks - you get the point, I hope.

Try to sound concise and come across as having an analytical, systematic approach to your answer.

In terms of questions, you get given a case study to read through and make notes for about 20 mins, after which the interviewer will ask you questions on it. Mine was about a city council wanting to ease congestion. I'd say, the main thing to think about is the effect of the changes - even a small change will affect more than just a small group of people that's directly involved in this change. For example, an IT system implementation affects not just the IT department (or hardware etc.) but, personnell (retraining to use it) and possibly even clients (perception of the company) and the image of the company....

Just did the verbal test...did'em all but have no idea how well or badly I have done. Seems to be the case with all of my verbal tests to date!

Can't stop checking my emails!! I managed to fail the pkf verbal yesterday which is done by PSL as well, so the signs are not too good :( Anyone have any idea how Deloitte pass the test takers? Is it like KPMG (30th percentile) or is it actually a pass mark?

Shame as I seem to be getting pretty much full marks on the numerical tests i take but always fall short in verbal!

i think its quite low. loooads of people think they've failed, put actually pass. so, dont worry about it!

I sat the online tests a few weeks ago-and heard nothing for a while so sent an email and heard back the same day. However, my application is still on hold because my chosen service line (Transaction Services) is full up. I transferred it to another one (Audit) but it is on hold again. Grrr :O
