The minimum requirement is a 2:1. Does anyone know how strict they are? If I have a job offer from them, will they reject it if I get a 2:2?

Just been offered a job at Grant Thornton, so thought I would share my experiences!!
Telephone interview was meant to last 45mins... mine lasted 20mins so was pretty sure I had failed. Turns out everyone else had similar experiences.

I have recently attended an Assessment Centre at GT, not entirely sure how it went. I pretty much have a mixed feeling about whether I will get the job or not as I feel I've slipped up on some of the interview questions where I had blanked out. Did anyone else have a similar feeling before a job offer?
Also, my AC was two days ago and they said they will get back to me asap. Does anyone know how long they usually take to reply back to candidates?
Thanks

I applied for an audit summer internship with GT last year at their Bristol office but then I got rejected at the partner interview. This was in Febuary 2011.
I'm applying for them again this year for a graduate position in audit and I was wondering if it's safe to copy and paste some answers from last year's initial application, (with some updates to what I did this in summer's internship). Will they bring up my application from last year in their data base and compare it with this years?
Thanks all!

I wanted to be a specialist, so I chose the area of expatriate tax. I’ve been here two years and already I’ve got a lot of experience. You get real responsibility early on at Grant Thornton, and almost as soon as I joined, people were asking me for tax advice, which was a baptism by fire. At the moment, I have a large number of corporate clients and also some private individuals, and provide tax support for people who come into or out of the UK on assignments or secondments. I also deal with a lot of residency cases, often with tax issues that have only just been decided. Things are constantly changing, which keeps it interesting for me too.
I had my appraisal recently and my manager said that it was obvious that I really enjoy what I’m doing. I’m very fortunate in that I’ve joined a small growing team so I have access to very senior people and can see how things work from their level. Being in the office is great and you’re encouraged to ask questions, which just as important as what we’re taught in the classroom. I’m never just sitting filling in the 9-5 and waiting to go home - I’m always busy, especially in the run up to the tax return deadline in January, and I have been swamped at times, but at Grant Thornton everybody shares the load. One of my future aims here is to go on secondment. I like the idea of going to a developing Eastern European country. Someone I know just got sent to the Cayman Islands, but my life isn’t that glam yet.

Grant Thornton has got a good reputation, and it met all my expectations. It’s in the top 100 graduate employers and I knew I’d be able to get good experience and responsibility early on. I am in my second year and I can see already how much I’ve developed since last year. In audit you get to see how a lot of different businesses work and it’s a good grounding. It gives you real confidence. The first year is a lot about courses, training, college exams and on passing the professional stage exams, then getting exposure to clients, working on smaller parts of the files. Passing the exams is one of the highlights, you see all the hard work paying off. The downside is that you need to organise your time well, because you’re doing exams and working at the same time. In the second year it all comes together, and in the next month I will start ‘in charging’, basically being in charge of the audit team and ensuring all parts of the audit work get done, while out at clients, which is a real achievement. I feel like I am learning all the time, continually working on different businesses with varying challenges. We get a buddy, six-month interim progress report with our line manager and a yearly appraisal, which
is also a chance to talk about where you’re going and what kind of thing you want to do. I always get the sense they are focusing on my career here.
